Chapter 18 - Snow White's changes

In the depths of the nightmare realm, a resounding—-Ding! echoed through the consciousness of the player known as StupidLove.

The announcement from the system proclaimed his triumph over two formidable enemy player dragons.

[ Congratulations for killing two players. ]

Yet, amidst the digital clamor, Murky, unfazed by this victory, fixated his gaze on the approaching raptor.

Its eyes burned with an unwavering determination to end his virtual existence, casting Murky into a realm of unease.

"Are those two raptors that Snow White murdered really important?"

Murky asked, currently, in front of this raptor, there was a sinking feeling like he was a defenseless prey, hunted relentlessly by a ravenous creature that had starved for countless years.

Suddenly, the pyroraptor unleashed its titanic maw, its massive jaws opening wide to deliver a menacing proclamation.

"Your mount is a mere tenth-order mutation, equipped with second-class genes. But I, in the same order of mutation, bear fourth-class genes," it sneered with arrogance.

"Therefore, while I consider myself in the fourteenth order of mutation, your mount barely achieves the twelfth class.

"So mark my words, as long as I continue to evade your aerial assault, I shall sink my claws into your beating heart and devour you whole!"

The pyroraptor taunted, gracefully evading the relentless strikes launched by Murky's dragon companion, Snow White, from above.

Unyielding in its pursuit, the pyroraptor trailed Murky and his mount—the poultry dragon bull horse.

"He!"

As Murky's mount accelerated, Murky sneered, the wind whipping against his face, he remained fixated on the pyroraptor, observing its every move while simultaneously registering its threats.

A wry smile flickered across his lips, a testament to the overwhelming speed at which events unfolded.

"Your two companions died and yet you're still arrogant enough to threaten me!?"

Even though Snow White had vanquished the two dragons, he had momentarily forgotten that they were merely humans transformed into pyro raptors.

The pyro raptor did not speak, it continued its intricate dance, focused on the attack that came up from the air, Soon, the pyroraptor adeptly and skillfully evaded Snow White's aerial onslaught.

Seeing this Murky's thoughts swirled, seeking a solution to this perilous predicament.

"What should I do?"

Earlier, he was confident that Snow White held the key.

However, the pyroraptor approached with relentless speed, its arrival upon Murky's person inevitable, and the passage of time fleeting.

"This is a problem."

Murky said as he clenched his fist, Also his concerns extended beyond the imminent threat of the raptor.

"And this one too," he added with concern, feeling the presence of his mount.

Judging by the creature's intelligence, he was certain that the beast beneath him, the poultry dragon bull horse, had discerned his relationship with Snow White, a dragon.

Murky's mind raced, contemplating a method to silence this loyal yet potentially treacherous companion and this one relentless dangerous player pyro raptor.

"Just one, just one," he mumbled, trying to come up with plans.

Suddenly, without a moment's consideration for his precarious position, a thunderous explosion rent the air—Kaboom!

Before Murky's mount, the ground erupted in a tumultuous display reminiscent of a volcanic eruption.

The earth trembled, its fissures yawning wide, and Murky's mount, the poultry dragon bull horse, widened its eyes in sheer disbelief.

"Hu?"

Murky felt like the horse was powerless to halt its momentum, and he was right, the mount hurtled forward, tossing Murky through the air like a ragdoll.

"Aaaaaaaahhh!!"

As his body soared uncontrollably, Murky's senses were plunged into a dizzying vortex.

Amidst the chaos, he caught a glimpse of the mount, bestowed upon him by the venerable Draugr warriors, receding into the distance. And in a climactic collision, the pyroraptor pursuing him and his mount crashed violently into each other's massive bodies—Bam!

Murky's attention was suddenly drawn to a peculiar sensation gripping him as he hovered high above the ground.

He felt dizzy, but his gaze had been fixed and locked on the player pyroraptor and the mount that was given to him by the Draugr warrior, the unusual amalgamation of a fowl, dragon, and horse known as the poultry dragon bull horse.

The collision between the two had sent them sprawling to the ground, desperately attempting to regain their footing.

However, the pyroraptor player exhibited swiffer reflexes, swiftly rising to its feet and launching itself toward the neck of the struggling dragon bull horse, determined to keep it pinned to the earth.

Clutchak!

As the mighty creature writhed and fought against its restraints, it was met with the relentless jaws of the pyroraptor player, whose effortless strength was enough to snap the dragon bull horse's neck with ease.

Crack!

Murky could only watch as all of these happened in front of him, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief.

His mind was a jumble, his consciousness slipping away, yet he strained to turn his head and catch a glimpse of whoever was carrying him through the air.

"Who?"

He managed to murmur weakly, though his feeble neck lacked the strength to fully assess his surroundings.

Still, despite the lack of visual confirmation, an inexplicable knowing washed over him, revealing that it was Snow White who bore him aloft.

However, Murky felt like a disquieting change had taken hold within her. And Snow White seemed unwilling to engage in conversation, her demeanor veiled in an enigmatic distance.

Meanwhile, Snow White observed Murky's slumbering form with a contemptuous mutter.

"Weakling," she scoffed under her breath.

With a graceful extension of her wings, she adjusted her flight path, retracing their course back to the location from which she had plucked Murky.

"You deceived me before I had fully awakened my bloodline memory. It's truly astonishing, yet utterly repugnant," she declared, a disdainful glimmer in her draconic feline eyes.

However, Snow White maintained a resolute silence thereafter, her movements betraying an underlying reluctance.

The pyroraptor player, standing amidst the lifeless body of the dragon bull horse, directed an upward gaze toward Snow White and Murky's trajectory.

"That's the creature that was attacking us?"

With the keen, reptilian eyes characteristic of his raptor-like avatar, he discerned Snow White's aerial pivot and swiftly emulated her action, turning on his heels and hastening away from the scene with all possible speed.

Suddenly, the fear of death loomed over him, for he knew the magnitude of the devastating explosion that had occurred.

"Shit!"

He was unwilling to meet his demise in such a manner, recognizing that his own life held greater significance than that of his subordinates, so he turned around and quickly went away as fast as he could.

Swoof!

In the meantime, Snow White, observing the pyroraptor player's retreat, decided against further pursuit.

She refused to comply with her rider's instructions, yet she remained suspended in the sky, her wings undulating in a falcon-like rhythm.

"Players?

"A dragon capable of morphing into different forms and possessing the ability to communicate just like us?"

Snow White muttered to herself, her voice tinged with disdain and curiosity.

"They bear the same scent as my rider, tantalizing, but it's a pity, I cannot feast upon my rider.

"The conniving individual who deceived a version of me devoid of my precious bloodline memories."

Snow White, with a bit of regret for not awakening her family memories earlier, expressed her frustration, saying, "If only I had tapped into my ancestral memories earlier, this weak person wouldn't have become my companion. Now, I have to waste my precious time in this area."

With a sigh, she continued her thoughts as she gracefully moved past, saying,

"Nevertheless, I find it interesting to watch these so-called players my rider was associated with. So, before I meet my true master whom I treasure, I will go along with this young rider and explore the mysteries of these supposed players and the mystery of this upper dragon realm that I was born this time," she declared.

Determined, Snow White refused to look back and flew up into the sky, carrying the unconscious Murky with her, heading towards the place where she had defeated the two mentioned players before.

Shortly after, Murky started to wake up, feeling a prickling sensation like tiny needles poking his skin and a strong gust of wind hitting his face.

Opening his eyes, he saw a terrifying sight.

In front of him were two creatures slowly being eaten by a huge mouth with teeth resembling killer whales.

Murky was completely shocked, trying to understand the horrifying scene before him. And in the midst of this disturbing display, a voice he recognized spoke, saying, "You have awakened, my rider."

Overwhelmed by the familiarity of the voice, Murky's surprised mind connected it with Snow White.

However, there was a strange sense of distance, as if the voice came from a distant place.

Trembling and with a shaky voice, Murky dared to ask, "Snow White?"

Her feet ' size, the huge mouth devouring the creatures—everything was so different, as if he was in the presence of an ancient being.

Snow White stayed silent, and the strong wind grew stronger, making Murky feel like he was on a fast-moving train.

The speed was so incredibly fast that he struggled to understand what was happening.

Breaking the silence, Snow White spoke with authority, saying, "Companion, I will now take you to the place you call Rogar. However, it will take some time to reach our destination to keep my presence hidden."

Before Murky could say anything, he was suddenly thrown towards the ground, flying through the air with a loud whoosh, followed by a loud boom when he hit the ground—Kaboom!
