On a bright morning, Cleon and Ava were preparing their supplies, that day was the first day they would travel to the city. Their purpose in the city was to take the guild entrance exam. Grandpa suggested this the day before. They have to start looking for new experiences and also places where they can get missions.
The two of them had spent a lot of time training with Grandpa. They had gone through a lot during training, especially Cleon. He received very hard training from grandfather, but it was all worth it.
Before they left for the city, Cleon took the time to go home to say goodbye. The distance between the training ground and Cleon's house is quite far.
"Cleoon!!"
From the yard came a scream that was very familiar to Cleon. That was Emily's voice when she saw Cleon arrive in front of the house.
Emily ran over to Cleon and hugged him tightly, she really missed her only child. From inside the house, Helena came out with a big smile, welcoming Cleon home, who had been training for several months.
"Welcome," said Helena.
"I miss you all."
From the side of the house, Dante was seen casually walking towards them. He saw Cleon who had changed a lot.
"Wow... daddy's hero is home."
"Father."
Dante stroked Cleon's hair quite anxiously, this of course made Cleon a little uncomfortable.
"Oh yes, this is Ava. She is my partner," said Cleon while introducing Ava.
"Hello, I'm Ava."
They took turns shaking Ava's hand.
"You guys come in quickly, I will prepare special dishes for the two of you."
Emily very happily pulled Ava's hand into the house. They gathered in the main room while telling many things.
"It seems that you are getting stronger, Cleon," said Dante when he saw that Cleon had changed a lot.
"Of course dad, I've had a lot of practice while I've been away."
"That's good, that's what father expects from you. But this is just the beginning, I'll go again," said Cleon in a serious tone.
Hearing Cleon's words made the atmosphere quiet for a moment. Dante and Emily were quite surprised by that.
"What do you mean Cleon? Didn't you just come home."
"I'm planning to go to the city, I heard it's where the great wizards live. I want to be part of them."
"No, no. Why do you want to go to the city? Wouldn't it be more peaceful to stay here?" Emily asked in a worried tone, she didn't expect her child to have thoughts like that.
Dante's face also looked shocked, he was immediately worried about his son.
"There is an entrance exam there to become a guild member, I want to try it."
"Guild? What do you want to join them for?"
"Of course to be the best."
Cleon very firmly explained this to his parents without hesitation. Seeing that seriousness, Dante quite understood. Dante gave Emily a code to agree with the decision Cleon had made.
Emily stared into Cleon's face, suddenly Emily's eyes started to fill with tears.
"My son is growing well," Emily said while hugging Cleon's body tightly.
The atmosphere turned a little emotional, Ava just sat and watched it all. In his heart he was a little jealous to see Cleon who was so loved by his parents. While he does not know where his parents are now.
That day they started eating together to welcome Cleon's return and departure. The atmosphere became pleasant again. Emily and Dante were so kind to Ava, that of course made Ava a little moved to tears. So far Ava has only lived with her grandfather, of course this is the first time she has felt the warmth of a family.

That day they both decided to stay the night and continue the journey the next day. Cleon seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere that night, after a long time he didn't come home. He misses many things including the attic where he first studied magic with his father's guidebook. When he was small, he was quite talented in using magic. No one ever taught him, he just chanted the spells written in his father's magic book.
He stood in front of the window looking at the village atmosphere at night. Suddenly Ava came up to him, Cleon smiled while showing the scene he was looking at.
"It's so peaceful and nice here. Are you sure you will still go Cleon?"
"Of course, I will not change my decision. If you stay here, maybe nothing will change in my life. I'm sure my parents also understand my intentions and goals in taking this step."
"I was also surprised when grandpa let me go. He is a person who is very protective of me, for some reason since your appearance he has changed a little. I myself was happy when he told me to go with you to take the guild entrance exam."
"But I feel a little sorry for grandfather, he will definitely be lonely when you are not around."
"Stay cool. That grandfather was not just any grandfather, he was the strongest grandfather and was never afraid of death. He was very surprised when he saw the blue flames that appeared when you held grandpa's special scroll. Since then she has become interested in you Cleon."
"Yeah he said that in the history of magic people who can emit blue flames are very rare. They are special people who will bring change to this world, and I am one who has a blue flame. That made me even more convinced that I should fight harder, not relax in such a peaceful place like here."
Ava just nodded slowly while looking outside. Their conversation was quite heavy for children their age, but there was nothing wrong with them discussing what their current goals in life were. The two of them had already made up their minds to go for the guild exam that was being held in town. The night was getting late they both returned to their respective rooms to rest.
