To wake up in Ethan's arms during our last few hours in Italy felt bittersweet. I was in no mood to leave but we had no choice. He had work and I knew he had to fly out to New York this week. I had to make sure I was there for Samuel's visit and just pray things worked out well without him trying to rip my head off.
The biggest stress was making sure he did not figure out what was going on. I knew Malia did not want to tell him immediately but there was a chance she would want to and even if it was hard I would support her. It was the right thing to do. I did not want to be the reason a wedge was driven between them.
I knew how much Malia adored her father, I would not want to take that away from her especially after I had messed up her life.
"It's too early to be thinking so hard," Ethan chuckled as he stirred awake. His hair stood up in different directions and his face was still puffy from sleep.
