Garnt, recognizing that he needed to try a different approach, took a step closer to Gundo with a hopeful smile on his face. He gently wrapped his arms around her from behind and whispered, "Oh, Mother, you are the most kind and beautiful soul in this entire village. I don't know what I would do without you."
Gundo's stern expression softened as Garnt's words melted her heart, even though she knew he was overexaggerating things.
She blushed ever so slightly, flattered by her son's compliments. She turned her head to look at him and said, "You certainly know how to charm your way out of trouble, my little torublemaker!"
Garnt tightened his embrace, resting his head on Gundo's shoulder. "I truly regret my recklessness, Mother. I promise I'll be more responsible from now on. Just this once, could you please spare me from this punishment? I'll make it up to you, I swear."
