The very next day came, and just like the previous day, Ophelia woke up with a splitting headache that made it difficult for her to focus. She tried to shake off the pain and carry on with her daily routine, but the throbbing sensation persisted, causing her to feel increasingly frustrated and helpless.
Despite the temporary respite that she felt the previous night with the alcohol, she saw this moment from the very start. She can only curse at herself for her stupidity but remember that the alcohol helped her sleep soundly through the night.
Ophelia reached out to the dangling rope beside her bed without standing up and still under her covers. She pulled it through with much difficulty, reaching the rope through her heavy eyelids and groggy state.
Once she made sure she pulled the rope successfully, she immediately released it and lay down comfortably on her bed, closing her eyes and feeling a sense of relief wash over her.
