After Ren's and Lucilia's talk, they both came to an agreement: Ren would marry them, but he would not do anything romantically until he took at least one of each of his current harem members out on a date, which he agreed to too, much to Rei and Rin's chagrin. However, before dealing with his love life, Ren had to figure out the entire planet's political situation. Queen Eldriel was quite amused by the antics of Ren's group but had to get serious. She asked about what they had heard; many of the complaints weren't foreign to her, but that didn't ease her in the slightest.
"So, did any of you hear about any actions planned against me?" The Queen asked.
"We heard many frustrations." Lucilia said. "But nothing immediate seemed to be planned."
"Good, then everything will continue as planned." Eldriel said.
"Just like that?" Serenity asked. "Don't you want to help those in need?"
Eldriel sighed. "I would if I could, but this war... to say it's a drain on resources would be an understatement. I'm simply not able to help. We used to have a trade deal with the forest people, but since they declared absolute neutrality, they refuse to trade with us."
"Casualties of war." Alyndra said. "I've tried reaching out to the forest people, but they refused me completely."
"Wait...what did you mean by "everything will continue as planned."? Eleonora asked.
Eldriel smirked. "We will soon hold a speech, giving an update to the people about a war effort, which, as you can guess, is why I was hoping you'd overhear if someone was planning against me. I'd rather not be assassinated after all."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Lily asked.
"If I hid behind the castle walls, how could I call myself a queen?" Eldriel said.
"You know what? I really respect that." Ashastha said, smiling.
Then Fenian, who was on the side, spoke up. "The Queen will be protected; we have placed over 50 soldiers to guard her, along with another two dozen archers watching out for anyone who would be brazen enough to dare hurt her majesty.
"Allow us to attend to us well." Ren said.
"I won't be opposed." Eldriel said. "More protection is always wanted, after all."
Then Fenian spoke up. "My Queen, I assure you, we would be enough."
"I won't hear it, Sir Fenian." Eldriel said. "I will not risk mine or my daughter's safety. If they are willing to assist, I will allow it."
Fenian sighed before silently nodding and heading back to his spot.
Alyndra then spoke up. "Thank you, Ren, for offering your support; that kindness of yours may make even me fall for you."
"Really...don't..." Ren sighed. "There are way too many princesses in my life already."
"Eh, there's always room for one more." Alyndra said, teasing, as Lucilia stared daggers at her.
"So...what now?" Scarlet asked, breaking the tension.
"Now you can head back to your rooms and relax; there's still many things to plan." Eldriel said.
"Alright, goodnight, your highness." Ren said in reply.
