Chapter 138 - Summoning

Out on the bustling street, Jiraiya unfurled the scroll, laying it out for all to see. He explained to Naruto that he needed to fill in his name in the final blank space.

Even Naruto couldn't contain his excitement. This scroll was the gateway to Mount Myōboku. Signing it meant gaining the ability to summon the toads from there.

But what truly piqued Naruto's interest wasn't the summoning aspect. Nagato had once offered him one or two summoning beasts, but Naruto had declined. As he saw it, summoning beasts became obsolete in later stages, serving only to drain one's chakra.

No, what Naruto had been longing for was the crab.

He lamented the absence of a large enough pot, wishing he could taste it. Nagato had eventually caught on to Naruto's desire to be stewed and eaten, and wisely refrained from offering it.

The real reason Naruto was fixated on Mount Myōboku's "Four Nine Zero" axis was the key.

The key to Kurama's seal lay with a toad in Mount Myōboku.

He cared little for the Sage Mode training offered there, having already mastered it himself.

As he prepared to sign his name, the prospect of unlocking Kurama's seal filled Naruto with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Even in the spiritual realm, he couldn't resist sharing his enthusiasm with Kurama.

"Are you looking forward to it, Kurama?" he asked eagerly.

Kurama's eyes betrayed his anticipation, though he maintained a facade of indifference. "Quit your babbling. I'm just glad I can finally unleash my full power," he retorted.

Naruto chuckled at Kurama's tsundere act, then followed Jiraiya's instructions, biting his thumb to draw blood.

To his surprise, instead of ink, the scroll required his blood for inscription. And as the seal was completed, his hand became the conduit for the introduction of his blood into the scroll, forming the contract.

But just as Naruto clenched his teeth to draw blood, a metallic clang echoed through the air.

Amidst the shower of sparks, Naruto could only stare in disbelief.

Hmm.

It seemed like Naruto's physical prowess had reached an extraordinary level, bordering on the strength of steel.

His body could endure 500 times the normal gravity without flinching, or even withstand speeds approaching that of light without giving way.

Even Naruto himself couldn't believe the extent of his physical abilities.

Jiraiya, observing from the sidelines, couldn't help but feel a twinge of bewilderment. What had happened to this kid's body?

Naruto coughed awkwardly, dismissing the notion of biting something with his mouth as foolish. He then drew a long knife from his waist with a chuckle.

As Naruto held the knife in his left hand and aimed the blade at his right thumb, he infused it with his own chakra.

A shimmering light spread swiftly from the hilt to the tip of the blade, revealing it to be no ordinary knife but a chakra-infused blade crafted from a rare material.

Such blades were precious commodities. Even jonin had to save for years to afford a pair of pocket knives, often treasuring them as family heirlooms, much like Asuma Sarutobi's famed blades.

These chakra-conductive knives were a rarity, capable of channeling chakra for combat. Their material had to be refined to withstand the strain of chakra infusion; otherwise, they would shatter under the pressure.

Even famed ninja swords from Kirigakure, like the "Broken Blade" decapitating broadsword, couldn't endure excessive chakra.

Jiraiya was taken aback. Such potent self-healing was unheard of, even for jinchuriki.

It was a testament to Naruto's exceptional physical prowess and his status as the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails; his wounds began to knit themselves back together almost as soon as they appeared.

"Don't mess with me right now, seriously," Naruto grumbled, clearly not in the mood for antics. He hadn't come here to perform.

Thankfully, the area was remote, with hardly any bystanders nearby.

Then, something astonishing occurred, leaving Jiraiya dumbfounded.

Before a drop of blood could even trickle out, the wound closed up in the blink of an eye.

Naruto repeated the process, this time cutting his skin and quickly using chakra to coax out some blood before swiftly inscribing his name on the scroll.

Thankfully, he'd picked up writing skills during his time at the ninja school in Konoha Village. It would've been embarrassing if he couldn't even write his own name.

Finally, Naruto completed the task successfully.

As he stood up, preparing to test if he'd been successful, he failed to notice the subtle change in Jiraiya's expression. Quietly, Jiraiya formed a seal with his hand.

"Boom."

A cloud of white smoke enveloped Naruto, and in the next instant, his shadow was all that remained on the street.

When Naruto regained his bearings, he found himself in an unfamiliar place—a dense mountain forest teeming with exotic flora and fauna he'd never encountered.

A peculiar atmosphere hung in the air.

Expanding his sensory perception, Naruto found he could sense a vast area spanning thousands of kilometers, devoid of human presence save for toads.

If his guess was correct, he was at Mount Myoboku.

Reverse Summoning?

Damn it, Jiraiya had planned this all along. Had Naruto fallen into his trap?

It seemed Jiraiya deliberately orchestrated the situation. By inscribing his name, Naruto inadvertently triggered a summoning not just to the toads of Mount Myoboku, but also allowing them to forcibly summon him there.

"Hey, Jiraiya! You think you can trap me here? What, afraid I'll gobble up all your mountain toads?" Naruto bellowed angrily.

If Jiraiya thought this would confine him, he had another thing coming.

If Naruto remembered correctly, it took a month to travel from Konoha Village to Mount Myoboku. Though he didn't know the exact location, Mount Myoboku was definitely within the ninja world, not some other dimension.

As long as he remained on Earth, Naruto could find his way out. There was no stopping him here.

Just then, two small toads approached Naruto.

"Hey, grumpy kid," one of them spoke up. "Are you Naruto? Come with us. The Toad Sage wants to see you."
