"Finally, I've arrived back" Crown said, a bouquet of vibrant, multi-colored flowers cradled in her hands. She stood before the door, poised to knock, when suddenly, Nepheria materialized before her, the door swinging wide open.
"Welcome back, Crown!" Nepheria exclaimed, lunging forward to envelop Crown in a tight embrace. The suddenness of it caught Crown off guard, her own surprise at being the one surprised evident on her face.
"How did you know? This was supposed to be my surprise, but it seems I was the one who got surprised" Crown chuckled, still processing the turn of events, as her plan of surprising Nepheria had failed terribly as Nepheria seemed to have found out about it.
"Hehe, I always know where you are, no matter how far you may be" Nepheria replied, her nose brushing Crown's hair as she let go and looked at Crown's red beautiful eyes with care, making Crown blush a bit at the sight that Nepheria is looking at her with such intense caring gaze in her eyes.
"Well, since you're here, get in. I've already cooked your favorite meal" Nepheria declared, tugging Crown inside their housing as the door suddenly closed as they both entered the house.
"Is this...? Isn't the renovation inside the house a bit much?" Crown questioned, marveling at the transformation that had occurred over the three years she'd been away, as the insides had changed a lot as there are more books and bookshelves as more decorations. Inside there were even plants by the window.
"And who is this?" Crown inquired, spotting a woman with white hair and yellow eyes that seemed to swallow everything in the entire existence, seated in a chair, emotionlessly as if she has not noticed their presence or either not caring about their little talks.
"Ah, she's my teacher, Eve. Eve, this is my husband, Crown" Nepheria introduced Eve to Crown with a warm smile, although she seemed complacent that Eve is in their house.
"I know" Eve replied, her knowledge as vast as the book she once was, recognizing Crown as Nepheria's husband from the start.
"May I ask why you're in our house?" Nepheria inquired, as Eve has been a book for some time now and she just suddenly appeared in her house in her human form.
"I have no home" Eve confessed, as she really did not have a place to stay in this reality because the ruins have been destroyed by a natural disaster called Mana storm.
"At the very least, transform back into a book. What if Crown misunderstands?" Nepheria suggested, concern lacing her voice, as her form might make Crown think that she is cheating with another woman.
"Don't worry. That won't happen. Your husband is blessed too, much like you. That's why I want to teach her as well" Eve assured, as she had countless precautions for such things as she had been in this type of scenario for countless times.
"Excuse me, but I'm a bit lost here. Could you provide an explanation for everything you're saying?" Crown requested, trying to piece everything that she just had heard but without any context she couldn't understand what they are talking about.
"Do you remember the book we found in the ruins long ago?" Nepheria prompted letting Crown remember at the time when they all 4 found the ruins where they found the book.
"Yes, what of it?" Crown replied, as she seemed to get a gist of what she meant.
"That book was her. She's the very book we discovered in those ruin" Nepheria revealed, that Eve is actually the book they found in the ruins.
"So, it's really the book that could see the true future" Crown mused as her thought on Eve's identity in on point that she is really actually the book.
"Yes, that's me. The book that could see, rewrite, and recreate the true future" Eve confirmed that she is the book they found in the ruin.
"So, you really are the book. How did you even become human in the first place? Are you some kind of semi-sentient or spiritual weapon?" Crown inquired, raising Eve's hand like a curious child, to which Eve responded with detached indifference.
"No, I am a fully sentient entity. I am what you would call an artifact" Eve explained unlike the items or other stuffs she is a fully sentient unlike others who are only semi-sentient.
"Ah, that's right. I heard you became Nepheria's teacher. How did that come about?" Crown asked on how did Eve became Nepheria's teacher, as she knows that Nepheria herself actually surpassed Crown himself when it comes to literal everything.
"It's a personal matter for her, and she needed my power but couldn't harness it on her own. So, I taught her how, and now I'm going to teach you too" Eve disclosed, that it's a personal matter that Nepheria needed to do, as she always wanted to teach Crown as well.
"Wait a minute, please. Can't we have some time to celebrate her return first?" Nepheria interjected, as she wanted to celebrate Crown's return first rather than Eve suddenly taking Crown to train Crown himself about the essence.
"Do as you please, but I will be dragging her off to learn once your celebrations are finished" Eve asserted as she will drag Crown after the celebration finished, hearing this Nepheria sighed in relief, as she had time to make sure Crown would be ready and as well celebrate her return.
"Wait, she'll do what?" Crown questioned, disbelief coloring her features. The idea of Eve taking it upon herself to teach Crown something unfamiliar was almost too much to fathom.
"It's nothing particularly extraordinary, merely a force of power—or whatever you want to call it—that underlies everything, the very foundation of existence" Nepheria explained.
"Isn't that a bit... too powerful?" Crown said as she couldn't believe that there is actually such a powerful power in the world that even surpasses mana in versatility.
