A sharp crescent made of shadows shot out of the blade and landed on the two guards standing in front of the gate. It cut through them easily and slashed into the gate itself, cutting the metal bars in half.
It wasn't a very profound realization, but it was still there. Why should he have to talk calmly with people who had hunted his brother and friend? He didn't care about the consequences this would bring anymore.
Not after losing so many people to the hands of others and not being able to do anything. This time he would fight back and he would fight back good.
One guard stood to the side, behind the gate he'd just slashed in half, shivering a little. Amari frowned at this.

The guard nodded and quickly scurried forward. By now, a large crowd had formed in front of the gate, but no one said anything in fear of offending Amari.
