Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Promise

"Gramps!" (Jinko)

The old man turned his head and saw Jinko making him deactivate his quirk.

Now that his quirk was inactive all the objects that were floating fell including him.

As he fell Jinko went straight into action and ran straight towards the falling old man.

Before the man hit the ground Jinko caught him saving him from a lethal fall.

"Good catch" (Old man)

"Gramps what were you doing, you know you can't use your quirk like that anymore." (Jinko)

"It's good for my body." (Old man)

"The doctor said…" (Jinko)

"The doctor said, oh what do they know, I'm gonna die anyway." (Old man)

Jinko sighed knowing if he kept arguing with his grandfather it would never end.

His grandfather kept blabbering and blabbering on before finally ending.

"...Now put me down!!" (Old man)

Jinko placed him down gently as he was being hit by his grandfather.

His grandfather walked towards his couch slowly.

Jinko followed his grandfather to the couch and asked him if he had taken his medicine yet.

His grandfather told him he had taken it already but knowing how his grandfather acts he checked the bin and found the remaining medicine in the garbage.

Sighing, Jinko got tired of his grandfather's actions and told him that he was gonna go get him some more medicine.

"Don't take too long." (Old man)

As Jinko left the house his grandfather's expression changed from being uptight to a fully blank expression.

Something ominous appeared from the shadows behind him.

"It doesn't matter what you do to me, just do not touch that boy." (Old man)

♣️"I will fulfill your final request, great hero of the sky." (Ominous man)♣️

A silent shot would fire so silent nobody could hear it.

With his phone in hand Jinko walked towards a pharmacy while texting someone.

Suddenly he saw his grandfather calling him so he quickly answered.

"What now, gramps?"

"Jinko... I'm sorry I don't have much time… so I have to make it short *cough*"

"Gramps, what are you talking about?"

"I'm sorry that I won't be able… to see you make it into U.A"

"What the hell are you saying?"

"I'm sorry…that I can't see you achieve your goals *cough* *cough*,I'm sorry I can't see you become a fine hero…"

"Why the hell are you talking like that."

"Jinko…whatever you do never…never give up on your dreams…goodbye my grandson… *call abruptly ends*"

"Gramps, gramps, gramps!!!"

An explosion was set off alerting Jinko making him turn to where he heard it come from.

Smoke rose in the air alerting more people.

Jinko saw the smoke and figured it came from his house.

Without hesitation he bolted off dropping his phone in the process.

No, he could not be gone, not without seeing Jinko succeed.

Jinko bit his bottom lip and ran faster than he ever did before.

When he arrived back at his house he saw a crowd surrounding his house as it was engulfed in flames.

Jinko pushed through the crowd and saw the entire house burning.

He quickly tried to enter and save his grandfather but some men in the crowd held him and told him not to go in there.

"Let me go, my grandfather is still in there!!"

"There's no way you can go in there kid!"

He pushed the men and tried to proceed but more people came and held him down.

Slowly his house fell apart and burned.

As he saw everything he loved burn down he remembered the moments he spent with his grandfather before remembering the day he lost his parents.

Purple fog started to be emitted from his body and his mouth, his veins became more visible and his eyes started to glow purple.

He was about to push them all off but then he remembered something his parents told him years back.

"Never use your power to hurt other who are helpless that will make them believe what they say"

He deactivated it before tears came running down his face as he watched his home burn down.

"My grandfather was a hero and a friend to many. In his prime he was a great hero that saved and inspired many including me. He raised me and mentored me. Because of him I didn't grow up on the streets. He's my inspiration."

He'd be at a graveyard in all black along with thousands of others as his grandfather was being buried.

As he was being placed in the grave a girl in white leaned on his shoulder as they watched his burial.

Now that his grandfather was gone a close friend offered for him to stay with her and her family which he accepted.

He was sad but he decided to fulfill his grandfather's wishes and become a hero.

For the next 2 months he trained his body and studied so he could get into U.A

A/N: Next time: Jinko will take his end of year exams in hopes of getting into U.A
