Dax was so exhausted he fell asleep the moment he hit the bed, and with a hope of waking up from this nightmare he had nothing to worry about. As he slipped into deep sleep something drastic was happening in the Deadlock manor.
Deadlock manor is a sealed dimension which exists in sovereignty of Lord Keshu, according to the contract with the chosen race whenever a blessed of the Murder Paragon is sent to Deadlock manor Lord Keshu changes his designation to Head butler of the manor and looks after the candidate. He is a powerful being at 7th stage of ascent and wields the powerful domain of space which makes him a force to reckon with under the level of demigods.
This sealed dimension only consists of undead creatures hence it was also called as undead manor in the outside world, now coming into the large manor head butler was seated in a thrown which was made out of black bones. The bones looked murky and Shiney, the thrown was quite large even for the 7 foot figure of head butler.
He was thinking on what action to take cause someone opened a portal right under his guard and that too in his sealed dimension which infuriated him. He knows this place like back of his hand and he was unaware when it happened which meant the level of barrier set was nigh high. But whoever it was that guided the boy to perform the rite with nether ghost flower should be still in here cause not even a demigod can enter in here without his permission and even Paragon find it hard to force their way in here, The only exceptional beings would be Overlords.
The mere thought of an Overlord interfering numbed his skull. If paragons are beings who are nigh omnipotent Overlords are beings who are completely omnipotent and omniscient. They are mythical beings who rarely interact with paragons so he had to stop thinking before his thoughts are read in river of Vinx.
It was also possible that the main culprit was an undead who waited for opportunity and guided the young boy to the rite. Every undead in the manor which interacted with boy would be a suspect of this assumption. There were hundreds of powerful undead in the manor, he couldn't quite yet find the culprit so he put his all the suspicions aside and focused on the matters of boy.
The boy seemed different somehow, even if he lost his memories he behaved differently he couldn't exactly point what missing from the boy but he knew something drastic happened to him. Whenever the blessed of murder paragon appears he created unrest in all the realms so generally it's kept as secret and only the ones at the high authority knows this information. But Everyone does know that whenever he would be sent over to Undead manor.
Deadlock manor is like an asylum to all the undead beings because of the persecution in the outside world. Every once in hundred years the gated of the manor would be opened and the top 3 of the present would be granted entry into the manor. Living in the Deadlock manor is a dream of every an undead, so every hundred years thousands of undead flock at the gate of manor in anticipation of getting a chance to live peacefully in the manor.
So head butler thought the most possible culprit would be and undead which interacted with the boy and tricked him into performing the right opening a portal for unknown reasons. With this conclusion head butler finally eased up, whatever it is which was brought from the portal he can only wait and be ready to face it.
*knock *knock
The constant knocking of the door woke Dax from his deep sleep. When he finally opened his eyes the scene that greeted him set him paranoid. He was still in the large bed lying to the side facing the window. The scenery outside looked straight out of painting, the pitch black sky without a single star but the ground was still lit brilliantly and dazzled in bright and gold. It was a breathtaking view to awe at but sent him to peak paranoid stage.
Before he held a slight suspicion that his hopeful wishing might be a wrong but he wanted more to believe in his new found hope so he chose to ignore it.
*knock *knock
The knocking on the door was getting louder and impatient with every passing minute. Dax looked at the door and feared what spooky creature would it be,
"yes, come in"
The door was flung open impatiently the moment he answered, and came a pale women who looked to be in her 20s. She wore a maid outfit, her skin was almost bleach white and she was very skinny. She looked at the boy who was checking her cautiously and says "Lord has ordered you to stay in the manor and focus on your education, from today onwards you can only step outside the manor accompanied by Lord".
Dax nodded in agreement to her words he also only wanted to stay holed up in the room than to confront spooky things. While Dax was still syncing his new reality, maid interrupted his again "your studying hours will be increased from today, lord will expect you in half an hour". Ans she soon turned around and walked off into the long hallways.
Dax fell into the bed again and depressed over his new reality. He now completely understood that this was no dream, he was in a body of the kid surrounded by ghosts. It sent shivers down his spine, but there was no other explanation to it. As depressed as he was he knew better than to keep the lord of the manor waiting so he got up and searched the room for new set of clothes and found the wardrobe. After changing into new set of clothes he stood in front mirror and inspected himself,
What fascinated most were his eyes, they looked mystical and alien compared to all other parts in his body. There were dual pupils in both his eyes which were on brilliant red colour. That almost amazed him cause if his pupils were red he was perceiving everything with a shade of red just like when sunglasses are worn everything becomes darker. But his line was vision was normal and there was no extra red tint to his vision. His irises were in shade of bright gold. The boy looked pale as if he has anaemia, but his eyes looked sharp. Searching around the room he found nothing but clothes and the claw knife in his room. He wished for boy to keep a journal or so but there was nothing to be found except a strange mechanical device which was unlike anything he ever saw.
Before he could mess around it and figure what it is used for he was interrupted by knocking again and the women from before walked in again. Now there was a slight frown of displeasure which she did not hide. "Lord has ordered me to bring you to the study room, please follow me" saying that she quickly turned around.
She was a powerful siren who was cursed to be undead and her name was Lorie. She worked as the maid ever since she was permitted into the Deadlock manor. She saw hundreds of candidates occupy the manor and fail the test and die before they ever took a step in the outside world. So when moments ago when Lord Keshu ordered her guide the candidate personally she knew something different was up this candidate. As they walked in hallways Dax finally saw how enormous in size it was, they walked quite a bit long and finally reached the study room.
In the room head butler was sitting cross legged with a thick book in his hands, he slowly walked into the room when maid bowed and left. The room was filled with book shelves and has a desk and chair in the middle, Dax quickly grasped his position and made way to the desk and sat in the chair.
He still did not have guts to look at the head butler to his eyes so he fixed his gaze on the book instead. It was thick and had writing of language which was foreign to him, but he could still make of what it read. Dax is as not surprised by this as he was already speaking a language he barely knew of. But it always surprised him if he could have the memories and reflex of the language why is he not having any other prior memories of the boy. But for now he sat at the desk and struggled to read the letters on the cover of the book which pronounced when finally read 'Records of blessed of Paragons'.
