"Bang!, Bang!!, Bang!!!," I heard a knock on my room door, Early in the wee hours of the morning, I was drowsy still feeling sleepy, I was wondering who could be at the door.
For some seconds I didn't hear the person knock again, I wanted to fall into another round of sleep when I heard the knock more louder than it was before, in annoyance I yelled at the person.
"who the heck is that?"
"uhm laxmi, it's me maureen" my younger sister said with restrain.
" what do you want? "I asked still lying down on the bed.
" i just wanted to bid you a personal goodbye before you leave"she said.
Reluctantly, I sat up on my bed , wore my purple fuzzy bunny ears bed slippers and got up to open the door for her.
I opened the door and met her standing right there still in her PJs
" come on in " I said and she came in and sat down on one of the sofa's. I went back to my bed to sit.
" How can I help you? " I asked
" I just came to tell you goodbye one last time before you go. " she said
Although we weren't buds, I was gonna miss her,. My parents said that I was going to attend a boarding school at trinidad in america which was quite a distance as we were living in new York City.
It's not like I didn't want to go, cause I'd love a change of environment, it's just that I was gonna miss my home, friends, family and my dog. There was absolutely nothing I could do about it, my parents minds were already made up for some reasons unknown.
" look here darling , I will miss you too, but I promise to video call you often" I promised her.
she hugged me and started sobbing
" oh no no , no need to cry okay , I'm not going forever, besides I will always come home for holidays" I assured her.
" okay laxmi" she said and hugged me again.
" it's fine"I said again.
"okay I'm leaving so that you can get prepared and leave early" she said and stood up to go.
"Don't worry, you can stay while I get prepared for school,at least let's spend some little time together before I go" I said.
" No no,I don't want to disturb you, don't worry I'll be downstairs"she said
" okay, I'll be down in a sec"I said
immediately she left I went into the bathroom to have a bath,14 minutes later I was out,I dried myself with my purple towel,then I used my hair drier to dry my hair,then I curled them.
I went to my wadrobe and brought the leather set cloth I ordered for. it was a purple leather long jacket,a purple leather pants, leather boots and a white crop top ,I just ordered for it yesterday, it was very expensive.
I wore it and it looked great on me, after wearing it ,I wore my purple sunglasses. I dyed my hair purple too (yeah yeah I know you might have been guessing by now, you're correct my best colour is purple.) I faced the huge standing mirror in my room to see myself and loved the image that stared back at me.
I sat down on my makeup table and started applying my makeup,I decided to do a light makeup as my normal makeup routine gulped time,7 minutes later I was done ,then I sprayed the whole pack of perfumes I had leaving a nice mixture of fragrance on my body
I had my Mum buy a whole lot of perfumes for me cause I loved mixing perfumes together on my body and I had them all packed up with my luggages ready to go.
I reached out for my hand bag and brought out the golden necklace sophie gave me.The necklace had a love pendant which was so cute, in admiration I wore it.
When I was done I phoned my personal body gaurd to meet me in my room. Five minutes later I heard a knock on my room door, I was sure it was axel,I went to open the door for him.
Immediately I opened the door he greeted "Good morning my lady"
"Morning axel, I want you to take these boxes downstairs " I ordered and went out of the room heading straight for the living room, followed closely by two body gaurds who were standing outside my room door. One on the right and the other on the left.
I went downstairs, surprisingly I met my whole family downstairs already, in excitement I said
"woah, woah, what's going on? why is everyone up already" I asked and went to sit beside my mom.
" sweetie everyone is up so that we can see you leave "my mum said and smiled at me.
" you look cute " my older sister complimented.
" thanks I ordered for it yesterday, saw it online".
" it's cute tho"she said again.
" Thanks"I replied.
"No one cares" alfred said jealously.
"I guess someone just pulled the jealous train choo! choo!!" maureen said mockingly.
" Hey watch how you talk to me, I'm not your mate" alfred warned maureen.
" And I'm not your mate either " I snapped at him.
" sweetie please hurry up to the dinning table for your breakfast,socel has set the dinning specially for you " my mum said ignoring alfred.
" okay mum thanks" I said and went over to the dinning table.
I got there and met all my best dishes lined up one after the other ,I was super excited.I settled down to eat but I didn't know the one to start with first as toasted bread and sardines were there, avocado toast,gabbage sallad, fruit juice, chicken and chips,apple pie, cookies and so on.
I just managed to digest in the one i knew I loved the most , 7:30 I was done eating,then I went back to the sitting room.
"mum, dad I'm done and ready to go " I said and two body guards came to carry my luggages outside and we all followed.
when we got outside I faced my dad and asked him a question
"Dad which car are we taking?" I asked hoping he will pick the black bugatti divo.
" I'm sorry dear I forgot to tell you,I will not be the one to take you to school, your driver will take you instead" my dad said.
" But why?" I asked disappointed.
" laxmi your father has a business meeting in scotland" my mum explained.
" speaking of my driver where Is he?" I asked.
Then almost immediately a white rolls royce phantom v ll drove in,a man came out and walked briskly towards us.
"Good morning sir , good morning my lady, sorry I'm late,I went to get the car polished" he apologized.
" No,no no it's fine jack,you came just in time," turning to face me he said " laxmi this is your driver jack he'll be driving you to school" he said .
Three body guards then carried all my luggages to the car.i went to hug my mum, sisters and brothers, then I went to hug my dad.
"Dad I will miss you ,I will miss all of you"
"Don't worry, we'll be coming to check up on you from time to time " he promised.
I looked towards the entrance of the house and saw my dog peeking her head through the small opening of the door with a sad face. I went over to where she was,picked her up and cuddled her for some time, then I looked at her and said
"I'll miss you so much chloe" then she looked at me and howled in response, I'm thinking she said
"I'll miss you too"
"laxmi, it's okay with chloe,you have to go , you're running late " my dad said.
Then I dropped chloe on the marble floor and walked over to where they were.
My dad signalled his P.A who was standing beside him the whole time to bring his brief case . He clicked it open and randomly took seven bundles of dollar notes and gave them to me.
"laxmi, this is seven hundred thousand dollars,I hope it will be enough for expenses" he asked.
"yes daddy thanks" I said knowing that it will be more than enough because he had already sent some to my account earlier before.I put the money into my handbag.
I hugged my family one last time and gave my little sister a peck,then I walked up to the car,got in and slammed the door shut.
I met the driver already seated in the car, immediately I got in he engaged the gear and drove out of the villa .I caught a glimpse of my family waving at the car probably at me, I waved back although they couldn't see me ,they continued waving until the car was out of sight.
As the car manovered it's way through the traffic I reached out for my phone and called failed sophie's number.
" Bring down the music" I ordered
"yes my lady " He replied and obeyed
Sophie picked up the call in just two rings, I guess she was missing me already.
"Hey girl, what's up. " I said excitedly 😃
"I'm good " she replied in a dull tone.
"Are you okay?,you sound dull" I asked concerned because I know Sophie she is always jovial,so what's the happs
"I'm okay,not just perfectly okay knowing fully well that I won't be seeing you again" she said and paused.
Truth be told I will honestly miss her,I can't imagine life without my bestie.i really wanted her to come with me,but I couldn't bring myself to tell her. I'm thinking she will say no so what's the point.
"No worries okay ,I will be coming home for holidays" I assured her
" Just make sure you stay safe for me, abstain from bad friends and cute boys too" she teased me.
"Cute boys ? You tell me , speaking of cute boys how are you and Richard coming along?" I asked.
"Ooh Laxmi you're so funny 🤣" she said trying to evade my question.why did she behave like that?.
"That hasn't answered my question miss" I said still optimistic wanting her to answer my question.
"Well Laxmi I don't know how to put this to you" she started at first "he's with Elaine " she finally blurted out.
