The morning sun filtered through Alex's window, casting a gentle warmth across his room. Elsion's enchanting world still lingered in his thoughts, a vivid tapestry of mysteries waiting to be unraveled. With a sense of purpose, he rose from his bed and readied himself for the day ahead.
Alex eager to explore the supernatural world with already taking 7 days off of the college. He barely slept night thinking about his second visit to the supernatural realm and counting 24 hours which seem barely to pass by at a snail's pace so that that he can once again step into that world.
After a quick breakfast and farewells to his family, Alex found himself once again standing before the unassuming cupboard. The key in his hand represented a choice—to remain in the ordinary or venture into the extraordinary. With a determined resolve, he opened the cupboard thrusting himself into darkness which lay in there, following the familiar transportation feeling.
The sensation of gravity shifting enveloped him. The world spun and shimmered before solidifying, placing him within the Transportation hall. His eyes scanned the Transportation hall with many people coming in and out of the magical cupboards and he also noticed there were more people here today as compared to his previous to two visits.
With a steadying breath, Alex navigated to the enchanted marketplace, more attuned to its rhythms. The vendors' conversations, the glimmer of gemstones, the currents of intrigue—it all beckoned him to explore.
His steps once again led him to the GOLD Lounge, where the welcoming maid greeted him. "Welcome back, sir. How may I assist you today?"
Engaging the maid in conversation, he subtly gathered information about Veilwood city. He asked about notable places and prominent forces within. The maid's responses painted a picture of a bustling metropolis, complete with districts dedicated to commerce, culture, and the arcane. She spoke of the Celestia Guard, an order of skilled guardians tasked with maintaining peace and order within the city. Other prominent orders, such as the Wardens and the Sentinels, held higher ranks and specialized duties.
Additionally, she mentioned the Veilwood Forest—a lush expanse that bordered the city. The city and forest's name was derived from the shimmering veils of magic that often danced among the trees. This enchanting place drew adventurous souls—hunters seeking rare beasts, explorers craving the thrill of the unknown, herb gatherers and potion masters looking for precious herbs and those who sought solace in the heart of nature's embrace.
As their interaction continued, Alex's inquiries shifted to Veilwood's social fabric. With a delicate touch, he inquired about matters beyond the surface, subtly probing into topics that intrigued him. He also came across the subject of the slave market, learning that such an institution did exist within Veilwood. The conversation flowed smoothly, Eleanor's demeanor, the maid's name he came to know during the conversation, unwavering as she shared information while maintaining a respectful distance.
Among the threads of their conversation, Alex discovered more about the intricate interplay of dark energy and abilities. Elsion's Domain was woven with threads of dark energy, the same energy which accounts for 68% of the Earth's universe. This energy here was harnessed through methods like breathing exercises, meditation, yoga poses, and herbs, allowing individuals to draw and manipulate it. Bloodlines played a significant role in talent.
Individuals were ranked based on their dark energy usage, storage capacity, drawing efficiency, and purity. The ranks spanned from Grade 10 to Grade 1, reflecting their mastery level.
Aside from dark energy, some possessed unique Abilities. These were rarer and tied to genetics, lineage, or luck. These abilities enhanced Veilwood's supernatural landscape, adding complexity. The information was both enlightening and frustrating, for while he now understood, he was acutely aware of the barriers he faced— a legal identity, lack of knowledge and financial constraints.
As the discussion drew to a close, Alex expressed his gratitude and returned to his thoughts. He contemplated the vastness of Elsion's world, the opportunities it presented, and the challenges he must overcome. His newfound knowledge about dark energy and abilities kindled a spark within him, igniting a desire to explore further.
Meanwhile, Miss Eleanor's attentive gaze hadn't gone unnoticed. Sensing her curiosity, Alex subtly thanked her and watched as she returned to her tasks. Unbeknownst to him, a seed of doubt had begun to form in her mind. Why was this man, seemingly a resident of Elsion, inquiring so deeply about their city's inner workings? With cautious consideration, she decided to report their conversation to Mr. Percival, the butler seeking guidance on how to proceed.
In a more private setting, Miss Eleanor recounted her interaction with Alex to Mr. Percival(The Butler). Her concerns were met with a thoughtful expression as Mr. Percival listened. After a moment of contemplation, he spoke reassuringly, suggesting that Alex might be suffering from memory itch—a condition that explained his curiosity and inquiries.
Miss Eleanor nodded, still a hint of uncertainty in her eyes. "But, sir, his questions were so specific. He inquired about the city's layout, the forces within, and even the Veilwood Forest."
Mr. Percival's gaze remained steady, his tone calm. "It is not uncommon for those afflicted by memory itch to display odd behavior. The threads of their thoughts can become tangled, leading them to seek answers in unexpected places."
Miss Eleanor hesitated, her worry lingering. "Should I inform the guards, just to be safe?"
Mr. Percival considered the question before shaking his head. "I don't believe that's necessary. This man is a GOLD member, after all. He holds a position of esteem within our establishment, and as long as his actions don't pose a threat, we shall continue to extend our hospitality."
A small sigh escaped Miss Eleanor's lips as she acquiesced, realizing the wisdom in Mr. Percival's words. "Very well, sir. I shall remain vigilant, but I won't take any further action unless it becomes absolutely necessary."
Mr. Percival offered her a reassuring smile. "Your diligence is commendable, as always. Let us focus on ensuring our guests' comfort and well-being, even if they are unusual."
With that, the conversation concluded, and Miss Eleanor returned to her duties. The intricate web of events continued to weave, the threads of curiosity and caution intermingling in the the unknown.
