"How about I make breakfast?" I interrupted his arrogant reply with a loud "Do crepes sound good?"

"I'm going to go brush my teeth," I said as I scampered off the bed after giving him a pillow strike to the head. I replied to him softly as he opened his lips to object, "I suggest you do the same BUT in a different bathroom."

I hurried into the restroom and forcefully closed the door, ending his curses.
Ahead of our special guests' arrival, the morning moved more slowly than normal, as though time were trying to kill us.
