As we approached the Minister's home, I said, "Meredith is going to be so mad." She was presumably really anxious given that I hadn't spoken to her since we parted ways and that I was travelling to her idol's funeral alone.
Alrik caught my sidelong gaze and asked, "You believe your friend is upset? When I sent Reece back to the group with the other warriors, did you notice the way she stared at me? By the time I go back, it won't be over.
I asked, "I never asked you this, but what is the name of your pack?" as I rubbed my brows together in contemplation.
"You've heard of me, but not my pack," I said. "I didn't care to recall the name, even if I had heard it.
You always skip the annual meetings, so yours was the only name I could think of," I remarked, giving him a stern look.
