JASLYNN
My face received just the exact amount of sunlight that was able to penetrate the tree canopy and wake me up. I wrinkled my nose, rolled onto my side, and curled up in the warm, snoring mountain next to me.
I could certainly get accustomed to sleeping in this manner. Alrik was very...furry?, the ideal pillow, and simple to snuggle.
I couldn't help but blink a few times as my eyes fumbled open and I struggled to understand where I was.
I was snuggling up to a large black wolf.
When it finally dawned on me, I let out a yell that awoke the sleeping wolf from a deep sleep. Before I could react, he was standing over my body, a paw on my chest, holding me down. His ears twitched as if he were listening for any suspicious noises, and he snarled angrily while surveying the forests around us. He looked around our area until he was satisfied, then got up and let me sit up.
Although Alrik had before transformed into a wolf, this was the first time I got the chance to observe him attentively. His eyes were a few shades brighter than Alrik's so they almost seemed silver instead of a stormy grey. His black fur was thick and shiny like Alrik's hair.
At that moment, I observed a twinkle in his eyes that gave him a far friendlier and more playful appearance than Alrik did.
He moved closer and licked my face, which confirmed my suspicions and made me chuckle at the scratchy, itchy feeling. Oh my gosh, you are so adorable! I said as I cupped his face in my hands. I had assumed that you would be like Alrik and have a stick in your arse.
After blinking as though startled by my statements, his wolf barked at me and hissed in a non-threatening manner. I closed my eyes just in time as he morphed back to what I knew would be an entirely nude Alpha male as he pulled away from me, realising what was about to happen.
Alrik respected my privacy when my towel fell, so I waited patiently, despite the fact that part of me wanted to sneak a glimpse.
The silence was broken by his gruf morning voice, "You can open your eyes now."
When I opened my eyes, I noticed that he was pulling his shirt over his head and had already put on his jeans. "Your wolf seems so much nicer than you," I said. also cuter.
How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not cute, Alrik snapped as he raised his head and scowled at me? Cute would be the last thing on your mind if you knew half of what I did and what I intend to do to you.
There was so much sexual tension between us that somehow every conversation we had veered in this way. One day, I was certain we would rip each other's clothes off and be unable to stop.
When you stated "things I did," did you mean things you did with other women? I cleared my throat and got to my feet.
"You stated that. No, I didn't.
No, I wasn't envious. I wasn't at all envious. This occurred 100 years ago. Being envious is inappropriate. It's not like I never engaged in activities with other men.
I brushed the mud off my clothes and said, "That's nice," but I hoped you had experience tying women up. It was perhaps the happiest night of my life when I was tied up by the one man I slept with.
The final sentence was an addition. Alrik didn't need to know that I didn't even orgasm. The childish part of me delighted in the snarl growing on his face.
A warm hand grabbed my bicep and drew me back as I scooped up my purse and turned on my heel to leave. My gaze wandered up the stiff figure to the angry Alpha's face.
Oops.
I might not mind your previous relationships, but my wolf wants the blood of every guy who has ever touched your skin, he said angrily, "Do not rile my wolf up like that."
"Right. No past males, I gulped, ignoring the fire building up in my tummy.
I was caught off guard when Alrik's hand abruptly wrapped around my throat and dragged my face in his direction after he had been gazing at me for a while. He gave my lips a quick, bruising kiss that lasted less than a second.
After that, he rushed off, perhaps to quiet his wolf. Was it wrong of me to like that? ***
A mile from where he had left me, Alrik eventually came looking for me. By the time I caught up to him, I was starting to pant a little, and he raised an eyebrow at my shortness of breath.
I sputtered, "I-I sprinted a little," in between breaths. "I'm not much of a runner."
We'll work on your stamina when you visit my pack, he said nodding. Learning how to protect yourself without magic wouldn't hurt.
After finally gathering my breath, I asked, "How do we make this happen, speaking of travelling to your pack? We already agreed that neither of us would disband our separate organisations.
Would you be willing to shift your Coven? he pursed his lips and said, pausing to take in the sky. I was considering having my Beta look nearby for a larger location than what you now have.
He was thoughtful of my Coven, which was nice of him. I had no idea how many concessions we would have to make in order to even keep up the current course of events. It would be a difficult process, but if we could figure it out, it would all be worthwhile.
I shook my head and said, "That's a possibility, but I have to make sure everyone else agrees with the concept as well. Other people are moving besides me.
