Chereads / THE ALPHA'S LITTLE WITCH / Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

ALRIK

Mr. Miles Crafton. One of Jaslynn's dependable helpers. She is unaware that he has had a crush on her since he joined the Imperium Coven.

A knowing look from the woman sitting next to me caught my attention.

"She's unaware," I had a question.

He's too much of a wimp to do anything, said her companion, whose name I still didn't know, as she ficked a strand of her red hair out of her face. He's not my type, but he's a decent magician. That is why he has joined you.

You keep giving me details, but you've never given me your name, so I turn to face you, pursed lips. You must possess one.

Meredith Berger, also known as the witch who will kill you if you injure Jaslynn, she rolled her eyes, "Meredith Berger, also known as the witch who will murder you if you hurt Jaslynn."

I glared at her angrily and said, "Do not forget who you're talking to.

Jaslynn speaking to me in that manner did not upset me, but the fact that her buddy believed she could do the same did. Even though I was no longer a werewolf, I was still an Alpha who demanded respect from all species.

It was a reminder, Meredith said stiflingly. Mind you, I wasn't trying to be impolite.

"Do not remind anyone else."

Before she could respond, I left and went up to Jaslynn, who was attentively looking at a map.

JASLYNN

"Your friend is treating me with disdain."

"Are you being a tattletale?" I asked, lifting my head to look at the sour Alpha wolf.

"No, I'm just letting you know that I don't like the way she's acting. Even worse, she sent me to your room while you were still covered in a towel.

We're going to have to travel through a couple pack areas to get to the harbour, I suddenly saw, and I turned my head back to the map so he wouldn't notice. Do you believe the Alphas would grant you permission?

"I don't require authorisation. Of all people, they should know better than to attack me.

Since I first met him, his haughtiness had not lessened in the slightest. Nevertheless, I did not anticipate it to. How long had he been feeding his ego?

I said, blinking a couple of times, "I forgot how big a head you have."

"It's not a viewpoint. It is true.

That you own a large head?

That I don't require permission," he said with a bemused expression.

Of course it is, I said with an exaggerated nod as my lips made a 'O'. Tell your band of warriors to enter the building so we can talk about transportation. We don't need more than three cars for everyone, in my opinion.

"I'll mind-link them right now."

Because Meredith did not adhere to the strategy I had outlined, it took 10 more minutes to figure out the driving arrangements.

It was clear the sly witch intended for Alrik and I to travel alone since she had stacked all the bags in my car such that there was only enough for two persons.

She openly dodged my suspicious gaze by engaging in conversation with Miles, whom she detested, as I cast her a dubious glance.

Hello, Jaslynn.

My gaze quickly shifted to the brunette woman in front of me who was grinning warmly. I'm Alrik's commander, Reece," she said as she extended her hand to shake. I can't wait to finally meet you. You're well known in Alrik's home.

I was surprised to discover that I already liked her. She was the polar opposite of Alrik's calm disposition in that she was upbeat.

I grinned and said, "Reece, it's great to have you here. However, I doubt Alrik has mentioned you frequently.

He is reluctant to acknowledge that I am his closest buddy. He has no pals in his world, she snorted, glaring behind him.

He approached us and asked, "Gossiping, are we? ", turning around as if he could feel her gaze on us. You disregard my werewolf hearing.

"It's not rumours. She is stating facts that all of us, including you, are aware of, I said.

I should have known the two of you would hit it off, Alrik said as he turned to face us. You two banding together against me is the last thing I need.

Reece gave me a wink and then pulled her keys out of her pocket, saying, "Too bad, it's already happening. I'm going to start the car now. All of the remaining pack warriors are seated and prepared to move.

"You have the road map?"

She said, fumbling through her bag, "I think so. If not, I'll text you."

"Remember you two, no car sex!" she said as she spun on her heel and began to leave.

After she stated that, there was an uneasy pause, and the other group members were looking at us in disbelief.

I knew it was a horrible idea to invite her along, Alrik said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I enjoy her. I moved towards the witch and said, "She reminds me of Meredith.

She smiled sadly at me and said, "I wish I could come with you." "I know," I replied, encircling her in my arms, "but who'll

hold the fort while I'm away?"

"Update me on everything, including how you're getting along with Grumpy over there," I said.

We won't be devoting a lot of time in our relationship, I chuckled inside. We won't have time because of the search.

You'll discover the time. There's a reason you two connected at the time they did, Meredith mumbled as she withdrew.

Before leaving the Coven building and heading to the automobile, where Alrik was waiting with the other two cars behind him, I nodded and waved at her and Anton.

He motioned for my keys and declared, "I'll drive for the first two hours."

I said with a pout, "I wanted to drive."

Are we going to debate this right now? Since you are more familiar with the road, you can drive the final two hours.

I gave him the keys and said, "Fair enough. Let's start this show now."

The first hour vanished in a flash.

Without any traffic, we were able to speed down the motorway and beat the deadline.

I continued, smoothing down the crumpled paper on the dashboard, "According to the map, we will be hitting the Lunar Pack border in a few miles. Did you get permission?"

"I told you I don't need your permission."

"Alrik, as a courtesy, you should have at the very least informed them that we were passing through their area. Suppose they assault us.

"Courtesy," he scoffed, "The Lunar Alpha is a wuss. He talks a lot but does nothing.

A sudden howl filled the air, and before we knew it, a sizable pack of intimidating wolves had formed a barricade in front of our automobile. They glared angrily at us while baring their teeth, taunting us to even attempt to drive past them.

I pursed my lips and asked, "You were saying?" to Alrik.
