Chapter 112 - Chapter 111

The sound of a large bell rang mixed with screams of the damned. The yellow spirit of the Abyss Walkers appeared atop the ruins of the Ringed City. Even after the city fell to its ruins, the giants remain still guarding it with no rest.

The towering overseers of the Ringed City, Judicator Giants were tasked by the gods to protect the city and its secrets from intruders. Those foolish enough to attack the city were struck down and their wills enslaved by the giants, who used them as defences against further intruders.

It was sitting in a kneeling position. It would raised its head in a form of prayng as large bell-like songs rang from them. Spirits of past champions and knights who were foolish enough to ever step foot in this city were called to fight against the intruders.

The secret of the city will be revealed in the middle of the city where the princess Filianore slept. There were a total of four Judicator Giants. She took out her scythe and cleaved the Abyss Watchers that were surrounding her.

Despite their superb technique the blade cleaved them multiple times. It was evident that they were weaker than their living counterparts. They jumped around quickly but they were outclassed in every single way.

They held only one advantage. They were immortal. She could not harm them in any way as long as the giant was still alive. He blades just paws through their ghostly body. They all branded their swords and chased her but she was easily able to use the surrounding terrains to hide.

Using the boulders as cover, she crept towards the giant. When she reached it, she killed it in a single fiery slash. There was no need to prolong the battle. And then, there was another three more to go.

Only after she killed the three giants, would the room in the centre of the city, open up. Another one was in the swamps. She did not like the swamps in any way. It was simply an unpleasant experience that she doubts anyone would love.

Disgusting locusts hopped around as their shells clack against each other, producing and awful noise. They barely came near her and only hopped around but it did not make them any better. With a human face and the body of a locust, it was an abomination to look at.

One good thing about the Ringed city was that it was big. She could make as much noise as she wants. The giant still has yet to notice her presence. Only when she got awfully close to the giant, did it notice.

This one here was walking around. It immediately summoned the Abyss Watcher once it noticed her but now, it was too late. With a single swipe, it too disappeared in a burst of flames.

She kept walking but it eventually came to a dead end once again. This time, it was inside a room where there were walls all around her. She has come into the inner circle of the city of the end.

There came a problem. She could no longer move forward. The only way there was up and there was ladder on top of it. There were words that said 'Humanity'. She had to solve a puzzle to continue further in her journey.

And so, she did the only logical choice. She teleported right on top of the entrance and continued making her way.

After all, why waste time solving a puzzle when she could easily go through it. Also, she had no idea why anyone would think that a puzzle would make good security. The giant was sitting doing nothing there.

She did not even know why it was here in the first place but she did her job and cut it down. Great. Only the final one left to go.

In front of her lies a door. A giant door far too wide for her. She stepped forward at that door intending to open it when a voice came from inside the door.

"Unknowing visitor, return to whence thous't camest. The Abyss runneth deep. By the King's decree, none may distress our mistress's slumber."

Tears threaten to fall out of her eyes when she heard those words. It wasn't that the Judicator inside was telling emotional words. It was just that for the first time since she came here, somebody spoke in the same manner as her. The English of the old era.

But memories were memories and what has to be done, must be done. She put both of her hands on each door and started pushing it. it was a very large and heavy door. Inside, there was marble floor with statues holding spears as they knelt.

And at the end of the marble floor was a grey mist where she would meet the last Judicator and the final defender of princess Filianore.

"Foolishness ... ", the deep voice rang out once again as it admonished her.

"The King's decree is no trifling matter."

This time, the giant was visible even in the dark of the church they were in. He was just like all the other giants but this time, he was talking. It went on talking as if purposely ignoring her.

"I. Judicator Argo, shall deliver thee justice."

"Spear of the Church, sworn defender of our Princess! Harken to the call that summons thee!"

It started grabbing itself and twisted in pain. it basically started to evaporate as mist came out of its body. Despite the visible physical discomfort that she could see, the voice did not change one bit.

She took out her scythe and waited for Halflight, the spear of the church of Filianore to come forth and challenge her. Instead she was met with someone she had zero preparations of facing. Someone she honestly thought would never face.

One figure emerged holding a spear. His golden armour made to resemble a lion and imbedded with the power of lightning to face against the dragons. His large lugged spear dragged across the floor as sparks came out from friction.

It was Ornstein, the dragonslayer and the captain of the Four Knights of Gwyn.

This is Chapter 111.

I am well aware that the Ringed City DLC was not like this but I will address that later on.

Sorry for being a bit late as I was wrapping up my assignments. Anyways, enjoy!

Tell me what you think of it.
