In the arena, Tian Li stood before Xiao Tao with indifference, staring at him with disdain, as if Xiao Tao wasn't even worth his time. After all, a few months ago, Xiao Tao had lost to him in just three moves.
Upon seeing the look of contempt on Tian Li's face, Xiao Tao couldn't contain his killing intent. He drew the blade from his back and charged toward Tian Li.
Even though it was supposed to be a friendly match, there was no referee. In real combat, opponents wouldn't stop until someone told them to begin the fight.
"Die!" shouted Xiao Tao as he aimed his blade at Tian Li's heart. Initially, he had intended to torture him, but after seeing the blatant disdain Tian Li directed at him, all he could think of was killing Tian Li to wash away his shame.
Even though everyone could feel Xiao Tao's killing intent, no one intended to stop him. If Tian Li died, it would be his fault for being weak. The same logic applied to Xiao Tao; even if he were killed by Tian Li, no one would say anything.
"Pathetic..." said Tian Li disdainfully, stopping Xiao Tao's attack with just two fingers. "Did you really think that a few months of training would be enough to defeat me?"
It was obvious that Tian Li was annoyed by Xiao Tao's arrogant thoughts. Tian Li was far more talented than Xiao Tao, and there was a significant difference between the Seven Blades Sect and the High Heaven Pavilion. The former was only a fourth-rank sect, while the High Heaven Pavilion was a second-rank sect. Its ruthless and brutal training methods for its disciples were comparable to those of first-rank sects. Surely, training madly for a few months was not enough to overcome Tian Li, for whom intense training was a regular routine.
Thus, Tian Li couldn't help but feel insulted by Xiao Tao's arrogant thoughts.
"Wh-..." Xiao Tao couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that his attack had been stopped with just two fingers. His killing intent disappeared, replaced by fear, terror, and despair that overtook his entire being. He had been confident in his strength, believing that he was different from a few months ago, but it was clear that Tian Li had also changed since then.
"Mysterious Wind Palm!" shouted Tian Li, channeling all his power into a blow aimed at Xiao Tao's chest.
The Mysterious Wind Palm was a technique that allowed its user to convert their Yuan Qi into Wind Qi, and it had a devastating power due to the chaotic winds within it.
Crash
The moment Tian Li's palm touched Xiao Tao, everyone could hear the distinct sound of Xiao Tao's ribs shattering. The force of the attack sent him flying out of the ring.
Boom
Xiao Tao was thrown from the ring like a bullet, crashing into a wall dozens of meters away, and then fell to the ground like a ragdoll.
"Cough! Cough!" – Xiao Tao couldn't endure any longer as he hit the ground, coughing up two large mouthfuls of blood. Tian Li's strike had severely damaged his internal organs, and several of his broken ribs were piercing into his organs and meridians.
"Trash…" said Tian Li indifferently as he returned to his seat. Although he could have continued the fight, his mood had soured because of the garbage that had tried to challenge him.
"Xiao Tao!!" As soon as the fight ended, Xiao Tao's friends rushed to check on him. It was clear that he was gravely injured, and it wouldn't be surprising if he lost his life at any moment.
'That so-called Xiao Tao is finished,' thought Yu Tian as he glanced at him. Xiao Tao would need at least a seventh-grade pill to fully heal his injuries without any lasting effects. But seventh-grade pills were hard for even first-rank sects to obtain, let alone a fourth-rank sect. Even if they did have such a pill, Yu Tian doubted they would give it to Xiao Tao. Even if he used multiple low-grade healing pills, he would only be delaying the inevitable. Even if a miracle occurred and he had a fifth- or sixth-grade pill, Xiao Tao would no longer be able to continue as a cultivator. He would live only a few more years as an ordinary person before dying.
"..." Yu Tian stared at Xiao Tao for a moment before sighing softly and disappearing from his spot. He reappeared in front of Xiao Tao and his friends, leaving them puzzled, as well as everyone else in the arena, who watched Yu Tian with curiosity.
"What is he planning to do?" – This was the thought on everyone's mind as they watched Yu Tian retrieve something from his Storage Ring, which turned out to be a simple healing pill.
Gulp
"This..." – One of the people who recognized the pill in Yu Tian's hand swallowed nervously. "A seventh-grade healing pill..."
"!!!" – The entire hall went silent, and everyone heard the murmurs of the person who had identified the pill. They couldn't believe their ears. A seventh-grade pill wasn't something that could be given away so casually.
