Wasteland of Death
"Is the Dragon God Legacy here?" Yueli asked, peering skeptically into an ordinary, unremarkable cave.
Yueli was sure she wouldn't have given the cave a second glance if Yu Tian hadn't told her the Dragon God Legacy was inside.
"That's right, and this cave is protected by two dragons, although they aren't True Dragons," Yu Tian said with a smile. Despite Yueli's strength, she couldn't sense the presence of the Flood Dragons, as they were hiding their auras well.
However, there was no point in hiding their auras from Yu Tian, as he could easily sense them since he was also a dragon.
"Young master, would you like me to take care of the Flood Dragons?" Yu Ya asked respectfully, standing behind Yu Tian in a maid's outfit, as per Yu Tian's wishes.
"Yes, kill them but keep their bodies and souls intact. I have uses for them," Yu Tian instructed. Killing the Flood Dragons was one of his secondary objectives while obtaining the Dragon God Legacy.
"As you command, Master," Yu Ya said respectfully before disappearing. Killing the Flood Dragons was easy for her.
In the blink of an eye, Yu Ya appeared before the Flood Dragons and released a beam of Phoenix flame from her fingertip, quietly extinguishing their lives without significantly damaging their bodies.
The Flood Dragons didn't even sense Yu Ya's presence, let alone resist the attack. They could only die peacefully without knowing what had happened.
"...," After confirming no signs of life near the Flood Dragons, Yu Ya wasted no time, stored the bodies in a storage ring, and vanished to return to Yu Tian.

In front of the Dragon God Legacy cave.
"I've completed the task you assigned me, Master," Yu Ya said respectfully upon reappearing behind Yu Tian.
"Thank you for your hard work," Yu Tian nodded with a smile, pleased to have such a capable maid as Yu Ya.
"...," Yu Ya didn't say anything, but she was happy to receive her master's thanks. It was clear he was grateful for her help.
"Now, let's enter," Yu Tian said, excited to meet the Primordial Azure Dragon, as he had a chance to gain another servant.
"Welcome to my trial, human woman and young dragon," they heard an ancient, deep voice that was both proud and noble.
"You... impossible!!" The moment the Primordial Azure Dragon sensed Yu Ya's presence, his voice turned to shock and disbelief as if seeing a ghost before him. "Phoenix God!!"
"It's been a long time, Dragon God," Yu Ya said with a hint of nostalgia. The Dragon God was one of her old acquaintances, and they had decided to leave their legacies on this continent millions of years ago to protect something important for the Heretic God.
"Did you survive that catastrophe...?" the Primordial Azure Dragon muttered in disbelief, but quickly denied the possibility. "No, it's impossible for you to have survived that catastrophe. I'm sure you couldn't have escaped from that situation. But how are you alive now?"
"I understand your confusion, but the Phoenix God did indeed die in that catastrophe. However, she left two fragments of her soul on this continent, and I am one of those fragments," Yu Ya explained calmly. She was Yu Ya, not the Phoenix God. "I was given life again by my master, Yu Tian."
"Your master..." the Primordial Azure Dragon murmured in disbelief, staring at Yu Tian in shock. Although Yu Ya was merely a fragment of the Phoenix God, it was no easy feat to gain her loyalty. However, the Primordial Azure Dragon wasn't overly concerned with loyalty at the moment. He found it hard to believe that a young dragon had the power to bring a god back to life, even if it was just a fragment of their soul.
The Primordial Azure Dragon was certain that reviving a soul fragment was even harder than reviving the complete soul of a True God. Yet, it was clear that Yu Ya's soul was whole, even though she was just a fragment.
"It's an honor to meet you, Primordial Azure Dragon. I am Yu Ya's master, and my name is Yu Tian," Yu Tian said with a smile, staring at the Primordial Azure Dragon with undisguised interest. "By the way, if you wish to return to life like Yu Ya, I have a way to do it."
"But you should know that there's no such thing as a free lunch in this world," Yu Tian added with a meaningful smile. "If you want to come back to life, I have one condition."
"And that condition is for me to swear loyalty to you and serve you," the Primordial Azure Dragon finished in a flat tone.
"That's correct," Yu Tian nodded without hesitation. This was the condition set by the system for reviving them. "It's good to talk to the intelligent."
"I swear by the name of the Phoenix God... no, I swear by the name of Yu Ya that there is no deceit in the master's words," Yu Ya said seriously, staring into the Primordial Azure Dragon's eyes with utmost seriousness.
"The offer is very tempting, and the oath of the Phoenix God—or rather, Yu Ya—along with seeing her alive, really adds credibility to your words," the Primordial Azure Dragon said calmly, as if he were a still, ancient lake. "But I refuse, as I am the Dragon God and the Sovereign of Myriad Realms. I refuse to bow to others."
The Primordial Azure Dragon opened his eyes, revealing infinite pride and self-respect. Though he had regrets he wished to amend, his pride as the Dragon God and Sovereign of Myriad Realms wouldn't allow him to bow to anyone, regardless of the circumstances. He preferred to remain a ghost rather than bow to others to regain his life.
"I see... Although I'm disappointed, I was prepared for this," Yu Tian sighed regretfully. Despite his attempts to gain the Primordial Azure Dragon's loyalty, he was certain he would be met with refusal. After becoming a dragon himself, he understood how proud this race was, with immense self-respect, making it nearly impossible to serve others, especially for a god of their kind.
