THE JESUS SLAY QUEENS
Episode 62
"I knew that would be the cure! Something told me to say it, but I was too unsure to say it confidently," Ella said.
"You're not serious!" I said giggling.
"I'm serious! I wanted to say it, but I was wondering if it would be correct. That's why I was afraid the day it."
"Calm down jare! You better don't start an argument. If you knew it, why didn't you say it?
"Because I was scared it would be the wrong answer." She answered.
"And you're not wrong for doing that!" Came a masculine voice.
We all turned and found the daddy of the house standing behind us.
Daddy good afternoon sir!" We all greeted in unison.
"How are you doing girls?"
"We are doing great!" I answered on behalf of everyone.
"That's wonderful!" He replied and sat at the dining room with us.
"Daddy! Why did you say she wasn't wrong for keeping quiet?" Ella asked.
"Actually I meant to say she was wrong. I mean she's wrong in the sense that she had the answers and kept quiet and she's not wrong by keeping quiet. It helped Juliet to seek God's face the more until there was an answer from heaven.
So what I'm trying to say is that she was wrong, but at the same time right, and kind of wrong because she was wrong and wronged her friend who was wrong by keeping such information to herself and became wrong when it's wrong to say wrong things."
He exhaled.
"Am I making sense?"
"No!" We answered in unison.
"I think I get the first part where you said she was not supposed to know the answer and keep quiet and she was not wrong because her silence pushed me into seeking God's face diligently. That's what I got from all you said," I said.
"Good! That's my Julie angel! Infact, I'm owing you lollipop!" He said grinning.
We all burst into laughter.
"What's the matter?" He asked.
"Lollipop is for babies! Not grown up girls like us," said Ella.
"Oh! So what's for grown-ups?"
"Airtime!"
"Yay!" Susan and I shouted.
"You people are not serious! Anyway, I was saying something before I mentioned lollipop!"
"You were telling us the rights and wrongs in Susan's silence." Ella announced.
"Yes! That's my Emmanuella!" He replied.
"Okay! Now the reason is this. There's something called spiritual perception. It is the ability to know things or receive accurate information from the Holy Ghost within us. Many people call it intuition.
It helps us get answers from God speedily and attend to our immediate confrontations or obstacles.
Now this is the challenge many believers have. Infact before we go to the challenge, let me digress a little. Many of us have belittled spiritual perception and called in wits or instincts.
That's the name the people of the world wants us to call the spirit within. Some even call the Holy Ghost one of the most annoying name. What's that name again?"
"Something!" I answered.
"Exactly! Something! God bless you abundantly! I owe you another lollipop airtime!"
"Something?" Ella asked.
"What's something?" Susan asked.
"Have you heard Christians making statements like this. I was asking God to help me and show me directions, all of a sudden, something told me to take the left and I did. I was so happy I did. That was how I was able to escape.
They usually refer to that inner whisper of the Holy Ghost within them as something. Something told me! There's usually this fear of I'm not sure if it was God, so we hide under the excuse of that and call the whispers of the Holy Ghost, something. That's something many believers struggle from time to time.
You see, spiritual perception is something that grows in you till it becomes what we call today the gift of word of knowledge. Many of us don't realize what we are trivializing out of fear.
Have you ever been in a situation where suddenly the thought comes to you that NEPA would soon bring light. And you suddenly have the urge to announce to everyone that there would soon be light. But you shun the thought aside.
You're like, how would NEPA bring light? You don't want to embarrass yourself by saying something that later didn't happen, so you decided to keep quiet. Suddenly, there's light in the house.
You are so full of regrets. You feel you should have said it when the thought came to you. How many of you have experienced that?" He asked.
We all put up our hands.
"That's what I'm talking about. That's spiritual perception. It gives you the ability to receive accurate information of things about to happen."
"But daddy! Sorry to cut in. There are times when you get an information and share it confidently with everyone and it doesn't come to pass. What would you say is responsible for that?" I asked.
"Brilliant question. I was about getting to that. Now that's the main reason why many of you prefer to keep silent and not say anything. It's something that will happen to you at the beginning stage of this spiritual ability. Inaccuracy. Why? Because of our lusts intruding and disguising as the voice of God.
And you know one thing about God, if what you need in order to do what you want to do is his approval. He is ready to give it to you. In the case of Balaam, God told him not to go with the men Balak sent to him. I mean he asked God if he should go and God said no.
When Balak saw he refused, he sent more men with reputable position in Moab and loaded him with a lot of gifts. When Balaam saw all the gifts and the Important figures that came to see him. He went back to ask God if he can go.
I was like what did God tell you before? So because they sent more gifts to you that means God will change his mind abi? I was surprised when God told him to go. But then I realized something, God told him what he wanted to hear. God knew he desperately wanted to go, so he gave him the go ahead he was looking for. We call it permissive will.
So that's one of the reasons why we get an inaccurate information. But another reason is that sometimes it is deliberate. I mean God will just allow you to say it wrongly just to see if you would still trust him despite your wrong interpretation.
Trusting God when there are no results is one of the greatest lesson all believers must pass. If you are not ready to pass that spiritual class, you won't attain certain spiritual heights. The ability to trust in God not because of what he gave you, but because of who he is.
So don't be scared of saying what the Holy Ghost lays in your heart. It's one of the fastest way to grow in word of knowledge and in faith."
"Thank you sir!" I replied.
"You're welcome!"
"So Juliet what's the next step to take?" Susan asked.
"I'll give Romeo a call!"
"Okay!"
I quickly brought out my phone and dialed his number.
"Hello!" I said immediately he answered the call.
"Hi! How are you doing Juliet?"
"I'm good! I called to share something I saw last night." I said and began my story.
"Wow! That's pretty serious!" He said in a calm voice.
"It wasn't a joke Romeo! I tried and tried all I could but it didn't work!"
"So what is the solution? Is there any hope for me? Am I doomed to continue in this addiction forever?" He asked in a lamenting voice.
"No! God has revealed the solution to me. I have been given the answer."
"Thank you Jesus! Please go on! Tell me! Show me the way forward."
"Do you have a bible there with you?"
"No! I mean I don't have a bible. I study with my phone."
"You don't have a bible and you call yourself a Christian?"
"Pisst! Calm down! He's a new convert!" Daddy whispered.
"Oh! Sorry about that! So how do you open it?"
"I'm using earbuds. So I'll minimize the call and open the bible app on my phone."
"Nice one! That's a good idea!"
Where do I open please?"
"Open to Matthew 17:19."
Soon, he was reading from his end.
"Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Verse 20. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Verse 21. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."
"That's the solution. We have to fast tomorrow. We will be fasting from 6 to 6 tomorrow. This problem must end in Jesus name!"
"Amen!"
"Alright! We are...."
"Juliet! When did you say we would be breaking the fast?"
"6pm in the evening!"
"Ha! Do you ant to kill me? Tomorrow is school ooo! You mean I should go to school with hungry stomach and come home hungry. The book they will be teaching will not even enter my head. How will I stay in school for a complete whole day without eating? Do you want to kill me?"
I was looking at my phone to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Is this guy okay? Oh! Am I the one struggling with pornography? Is it me that will fast for him? What nonsense!
I want to even help him and join him to fast , instead of encouraging me, he's here talking like a baby!"
"Roberto abi what do you call yourself, are you normal?" I asked.
"Haaaa! Juliet!" Daddy said.
"Juliet what did you just say?" Romeo asked.
"I'm sorry, but you're getting me pissed off. We are trying to help you here and you're busy complaining. Sorry I asked that rude question!"
"I understand! It's alright! Don't help me anymore! I don't need your help. You can go and help normal people. This one is abnormal. Thank you so much for your help Juliet. I really appreciate it!"
"Romeo! Is something wrong with you? I said I'm sorry!"
"Yes! And I said I have saved you the stress of helping someone who something is wrong with!"
"Haaaa! Juliet your tongue is poisonous! Jesus Christ!" Daddy said and shook his head.
I didn't know what to say anymore. I was just looking at Daddy and then at my phone.
"Roberto! I'm sorry for what I said!"
"And I'm sorry for disappointing you. But I cannot do what you have said. I cannot fast. Fasting will kill me!"
"Wait, can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead."
"Who do you expect to fast for you? If you cannot fight in the place of prayer to deliver yourself, who do you expect to do it for you?"
"I didn't ask anyone to help me and fast. I'm completely fine the way I am. I will manage. At least, it's just to struggle with immorality once in a while. I'll be fine! Don't worry about me. Make sure you don't fast for me ooo. You'll be wasting your precious time on an abnormal person like me."
"But I said I'm sorry na! What's your problem?"
"Juliet!" He snapped
You know what? This conversation is over!"
"But...."
The call ended.
I bowed my head in regret! I can't believe what I just did.
To be continued...
Anger and impatience. This has really eaten deep into the character of so many believers today.
Many believers today open their mouths and wound the heart of the young in the faith.
Proverbs 18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Tell the Lord to fill you with the power to control your tongue in the midst of turbulent emotions.
