Lucy and her two seniors returned safely to the sect but their experience had been cut shot and returned to tell the sect master about Reece.
"Dad, we met a peerless master in the forest who saved us from demon beasts." Lucy said with a mischievous smile as she dragged her father out of his meditation room.
"You're back already? "Lowel(sect chief) asked his daughter who came rushing in and talking about Reece. "Ooooh you met a master, you could've invited him I'd like to say thanks to the man who saved my daughter's life and repay him.
LATER THAT DAY....
After Reece took the demon snakes body, he returned to the mountain cottage he was used to live in. As he was refining the demon core and eating the meat raw, Kace (the family servant who saved Reece) entered the cottage in a hurry and began packing almost everything in a hurry he didn't speak much.
"We're leaving Reece pack up fast before they get here, hurry up" Kace tried to urge Reece to hurry up as he still in a daze looking at Kace who was now frantically packing anything his hands could get on.
"we're leaving again, how many times has it been this time, why can't we just stay here this time? I like it here. I want to stay here; I'm not leaving you can leave." Reece stood up took the demon core and rushed out of the cottage and immediately run into the forest.
Kace knew he couldn't catch up to him even if he wanted to, so he let him go and proceeded on packing his stuff and as he was about to leave, he left a note on the stone table the jade pendant and a sword too along with other stuff for Reece. Kace knew what was coming and knew Reece would handle it and it would also be best for him to leave and let him grow alone now as he had reached the maturity age.
The demon beasts in the forest were restless as if someone had triggered their off-kill switch. They rounded themselves by the lake side and bowed down as if they were receiving their blood kill orders.
Inaudible voices and screeching sounds filled the forest alerting Reece who was headend towards the edge of the forest. The sounds had the nearest town on high alert even so they couldn't prevent the oncoming onslaught that was about to befall on them.
The amassed horde of demon beast charged through the forest levelling trees and any being that happened to be on their way. With the town in sight, they charged through the town and killing every living soul.
It was chaos everywhere those who had little cultivation were at most in the qi realm while the strongest was just at the peak foundation realm but even he was no match for the nascent realm demon beast that led the charge.
In only a few hours the towns surrounding the forest and those within reach had been flattened and overrun by demos and beasts alike. They had just activated the drums of war and they feasted on blood drawn baths and flesh hanged poles, it didn't take long before the territories were expanded and now it was more of a declaration of war.
Reece watched all this as it unfolded from up the top of the mountain, he watched as the people desperately begged for mercy and yearned to hang on for their dear life. The blazing fires were seen from a far, but all Reece could do was watch from a far, he had no slight sympathy for them to him they were all just the same, demons who murdered his family.
When the news of what had happened to the several towns and villages had spread out and it got to reach the several sects. They sent out some of their disciples as part of their training to go and fight the demonic beasts and try to stabilize the situation before it gets out of hand.
It was now an all-out war in the cultivation world as different sects sent out their elites as they could use this chance to show their might and strength. They showed strength and also wanted to gain recognition from the Three Halls and Four Empires Sects that stood above all.
Reece continued to watch the fighting from his mountain side, this was a new experience for him, he hadn't seen this many people all at one place and they could do what he could fighting the demon beasts. He assessed them and could not help but try to join in the fight as he could not just leave all that meat lying around and also the demon core which he used to refine and eat to strengthen himself.
All men are born innocent only their experiences can shape who we are and can create vile men and demons, it's not our fault the world of cultivation is a cruel place, and it creates cruel men in the midst of monsters.
From that day, disciples from every sect fought against the hordes of demon soldiers. It was a killer or be killed on the battlefield. They fought skirmish after skirmish; blood for blood as it flowed like an endless river soaking up the land flooding the land water submerging everything.
Countless battles, countless losses, countless defeats, countless victories on both sides neither wanted to give in and surrender the territories it had gained in the offensive. The tide of the battle would later come to change with demon kings joining the battle and causing severe casualties on the human side.
The sudden emergence of the demon kings was alone enough to shake the sheer will and courage out of the human cultivators, demon kings had far surpassed the nascent real base of cultivation and there were few human cultivators who could match their power, and there was none at the battlefield. It was a massacre as the demons began an all-counter offensive march towards them.
"Whaaaaaaa...whaaaattt..... that's large, a large chunk of meat, Woo-hoo hoooo I'm eating large today," Reece looked at the demon king from his mountain cottage as he was eating his recent kill ( a demon tiger) his mouth was drooling as he stood up to take a look again at the size of the demon king.
He jumped from the top of the mountain to the bottom, as he landed the ground shook as if a ton of nuclear bombardments had been unleashed. With his raw power and physical strength and speed he rushed towards the demon king at an astonishing speed as his mind was only driven by one thought "meat, eat meat, large meat".
Soon he had caught up to the demon king, as he jumped off the cliff with clenched fists and using the breathing techniques taught since he was a kid to utilize his raw physical power unleashed the power and potential within him. With a fistful blow he punched the demon king right in the face and the sheer force of the collision shook the entire battle ground destroying everything in its path.
He prepared to use another technique and finally lay the beast to rest but its stood up unfazed and with soaring power, it was now an all standoff. As two powers clashed it was undoubtedly a scene to see as two powerhouses were set to duel it out.
Both demons and human cultivators stood still to see as those who were retreating came back to witness the clash.
