Chereads / The Alpha is My Pet Dog / Chapter 21 - 21

Chapter 21 - 21

The room felt like a hidden chamber, cloaked in heavy velvet curtains that cascaded unevenly from the ceiling. Nestled amid the drapery, a black couch stood, surrounded by cascading bead curtains that lent an air of mystery reminiscent of a fortune teller's hideaway. On the couch lay a man, his brow slick with beads of perspiration. His shirt, torn open, exposed a bandaged chest drenched in sweat, his face etched with evident pain. Beside him, on the floor, perched a woman with captivating, seductive eyes. Her gaze fixated hungrily on the man, her slender hand draped lazily across his chest, waiting patiently for him to stir.

"Enzo darling, are you in pain again? Is that why you sought me out?" Hansel's voice was a soft, alluring murmur as she rose to her knees, inching closer for a more intimate inspection. Enzo's breaths were labored, each one heavy and uneven. "Oh, my darling, you're burning up. What secret dreams haunt you?" She chuckled playfully, leaning in to hear his heartbeat. "Your heart's rhythm is intoxicating, enchanting," she murmured, resting her cheek against his bare chest, relishing the warmth enveloping her skin. Her hand trailed down his abdomen, her voice dripping with promise, "I understand your discomfort, my dear. It's merely transient, a fleeting discomfort. Because when the time is ripe..." Her voice trailed off, a breath catching against his fevered skin. "Just a little longer, and we'll fuse as one. Then no one will dare take you away from—"

Her words abruptly ceased as Enzo's arm swiftly caught her hand, which had been caressing his body. Taken aback, she turned to meet his unfocused, yearning blue eyes. There was an intensity, a desire in his gaze that Hansel didn't entirely appreciate. Her lips curved into a joyous smile. "Haah!"

In a sudden motion, Enzo pulled Hansel's body onto the couch beside him, then hovered over her, locking her in his intense glare. His vision seemed distorted, his pupils contracted, an animalistic fervor overtaking him.

Hansel, exhilarated by the charged interaction, provocatively placed her hand on the strap of her dress, teasing it off her shoulder. Without hesitation, Enzo hastily leaned in, his grip securing her leg, lifting it as his lips eagerly explored her bare shoulder. "Aah! Hmm..." Soft, enticing moans escaped Hansel's lips as Enzo's passionate exploration became more fervent, causing her body to arch, a shiver coursing through her as he nibbled at her neck.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Hansel breathed heavily as Enzo explored her body. Her moans crescendoed, feeling a lingering pain radiating through her legs while his teasing kisses trailed along her collarbone. Clinging tightly to him, she yearned for an intense connection, as if seeking a union beyond physicality. "Wait, let me get this out of the way," Hansel murmured softly, assuming the dress might be hindering their intimacy. "It'll be better this way, my love," she added seductively.

Enzo paused, lifting his head from her, his unfocused eyes finally reconnecting with the light. There was a momentary clarity in his gaze, a sudden comprehension. Abruptly, he pushed her away, swiftly rising from the couch and standing upright. His pupils returned to their normal size. "What have you done?" Enzo's voice dripped with disgust.

Hansel's expression melted, her complexion paled. "You... you came here, you said that—" Her words faltered as Enzo looked around, seemingly surveying his surroundings. Without another word, he snatched a coat from the corner of the couch, turning to leave.

"Wait, Enzo! Stop!" Hansel rushed behind him as fast as she could, pleading with him to stay. Enzo ascended the circular staircase, lit by eerie candles that bestowed an old castle-like ambiance. He appeared unsurprised, as if familiar with their presence. Hansel, in disarray, hurried after him, intercepting him just as he reached the top of the stairs and was about to exit the mansion.

"Please, don't go!" Hansel implored desperately, tightening her grip around him from behind. "Let me go!" Enzo's voice was rigid. "No! I won't let you leave tonight!" Her eyes shimmered with a violet gleam as she clung to him, her hold on him growing tighter. Her nails dug into his skin, asserting her possessive grasp. "If you go, you'll die!" Her voice quivered, a possessive tremor resonating within.

"I said get off me!" Enzo's voice deepened, his face growing increasingly pallid. "No! I won't let you go! I can't, because if I let you leave tonight, I might never see you again! You have to stay with me tonight," she implored desperately, her words tinged with fear and possessiveness.

Enzo pushed Hansel away, escaping through the mansion's doors into the chilly moonlit night. Suddenly, a guttural gasp tore from Enzo's lips as he stared up at the bright moon amid the thick clouds. His chest constricted painfully, his breaths grew shallow, and his body gradually folded, collapsing onto his knees. His face contorted with agony, eyes twitching, brows furrowing as if attempting to resist the unbearable pain

Hansel, who had been following closely, rushed to Enzo, embracing him tightly. "I told you! Get inside!!" Her voice trembled with urgency.

However, as she spoke, her complexion drained of color. She noticed a profound change in Enzo's eyes, a darkening of his gaze that chilled her to the bone. Without a word, Enzo forcefully pulled away from her grasp, rising to his feet and darting into the darkness of the dense trees.
