With her astonishingly beautiful appearance and adept skills, no man could easily escape Natalia's control. Although everyone knows she's a black widow, a poisonous black spider, many wizards are drawn to Natalia like moths to a flame, willingly offering themselves and embracing death.
During Grindelwald's heyday, Natalia had ardent admirers, the most powerful wizards, who willingly resigned themselves to her. Therefore, her influence within the dark regiment formed by Grindelwald was the strongest.
Everyone knows that greedy Natalia follows Grindelwald, but unlike other dark wizards who seek wealth, power, influence, and formidable dark magic, Natalia can easily attain these things and doesn't need to align herself with the Dark Lord. She truly desires eternal life and the preservation of her youthful appearance. A woman's true nemesis is the passage of time, and eternal beauty is Dark Witch Natalia's ultimate goal.
While some claim she has died, others believe she has achieved her goal of eternal youth. She changes her external appearance to continue seducing wealthy men with her beauty, ultimately draining their fortunes. Within the magical community, a few words spread: to become Natalia's husband is to be among the most outstanding wizards, but their fates are exceedingly grim.
Evan had encountered information about Dark Witch Natalia while reading Grindelwald's books and thought she had died. Little did he know she was alive and had also joined the Claw of the Raven, becoming a senior member of this sinister organization.
"Natalia, is this wicked witch still alive?" Sirius asked, furrowing his brow.
"Like her husband, Calamity Emissary, she is also one of the organization's senior members," Kagal replied slowly, licking his lips involuntarily, his face betraying a greedy expression. "I saw her from afar five years ago, surrounded by admirers. After anyone, especially men, saw her, their hearts would race, unable to resist the impulse to hold her. She appears to be around twenty years old, with a mesmerizing beauty, as clear and radiant as jade."
It was evident that Kagal had a deep impression of Natalia. Even though he had only seen her from a distance, he was utterly captivated by her.
This whole matter was quite unsettling. Natalia had seemingly achieved her wish of eternal youth. Although she appeared to be only twenty, careful consideration revealed that she must be nearly a hundred years old. She belonged to the same era as Dumbledore and Grindelwald, yet she still managed to captivate Kagal. Perhaps she had obtained the eternal life and beauty she sought from someone else.
"Now, where is she?" Evan inquired.
"I don't know. Members of the organization are not allowed to maintain secret relationships. Calamity Emissary and I and other members have been stationed here for more than five years and haven't left. I don't know the whereabouts of the others or even who they are."
The Claw of the Raven seemed highly secretive, with even low-ranking members like Kagal being kept in the dark about many things.
"Alright, let's move on to Calamity Emissary. Besides being Natalia's last husband, do you have any other information about him?" Evan asked. "Think carefully, don't leave anything out."
Kagal hesitated momentarily, then spoke slowly, "I overheard others mention his past. It's not something I should know, but I tried to forget it. Unfortunately, I couldn't."
"Tell us about his past," Evan insisted.
"They told me that Calamity Emissary was a well-known wizard before joining the organization. His family in Austria had considerable power and influence, with ancestral lands and a wizarding village," Kagal began. "Calamity Emissary himself possessed great strength and was a formidable wizard. He was kind and always willing to help the villagers. He was deeply loved by the residents of the small town. Due to his exceptional abilities, he became Natalia's target."
"At the time, Natalia was a Claw of the Raven member. It is said that Calamity Emissary was captivated by her beauty upon seeing Dark Witch Natalia for just five minutes. They held a wedding ceremony the following day, and one week later, destruction and disaster descended upon the peaceful town. This was the power of the master. Natalia had chosen Calamity Emissary, hoping he would join the organization and gain the master's favor."
"In the town, life, illness, and death were cursed. Restless souls roamed the night, and dark creatures constantly attacked the town's residents. Even those who died became unclean, returning as the undead. The entire town was plunged into darkness and despair."
Evan listened to Kagal's account and couldn't help but shudder. The wizarding village's devastation and the loss of so many lives and the cursed souls were horrifying. Calamity Emissary, once a golden-haired hero, had become a pawn of the Claw of the Raven, donning their badge and showing no mercy to the living or the monsters. Natalia watched with satisfaction from the villa's entrance.
After Kagal's story, there was a brief silence. Regardless of whether what he said was true, Calamity Emissary's past was not pleasant. It was no wonder Kagal struggled to forget it. Calamity Emissary, a dark wizard with the power to cause endless disasters and destruction, was aptly named.
Undoubtedly, the residents of that small town had suffered a great deal, and many lives had been lost due to powerful curses and dark magic. To honest wizards, this was incomprehensible, but to dark wizards, especially those who believed in dark gods, it was not impossible. Evil curses and spiritual invasions, as were attacks from otherworldly monsters, were real.
Claw of the Raven appeared to be an organization of true darkness, arguably even more fanatical than Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
"Who is this master you mentioned?" Evan continued, changing the subject from Calamity Emissary's past.
"Master is a being beyond description. I've been fortunate to hear its instructions," Kagal shouted excitedly. "It is the supreme, all-powerful god. When the reckoning comes, it will descend upon this world to purify and restore order from chaos. Only those who truly revere it will survive."
After mentioning the so-called master, Kagal became increasingly agitated.
Sirius, unable to tolerate Kagal's ramblings, scoffed and said, "What a fool," before turning to Evan. "What's your plan now?"
"I believe we need to prevent these dark wizards from absorbing the Cyclops' strength and find out where Calamity Emissary intends to use the energy he's extracting from the giants," Evan replied. "We must also locate the city he plans to summon something from."
Sirius expressed his concern, "The situation is getting out of control. We're dealing with the hidden Death Eaters and a group of crazier dark wizards."
"Yes, it's challenging," Evan agreed. "But we have to confront them head-on. They're not just our enemies because of their alliance with Voldemort but also because we're here to find information about Ms. Ravenclaw's test and the key to her buried treasure. Our goals align with those of the Claw of the Raven to some extent."
Recognizing the significant disparity in strength, Evan and Sirius knew they couldn't confront these dark wizards directly. However, they planned to disrupt their operations and search for the needed information.
Their plan was to first prevent the dark wizards from absorbing the Cyclops' strength. Then, they would investigate the lighthouse by the seashore, where Calamity Emissary had been observing something related to the lost city.
The Charybdis Whirlpool, which Rowena Ravenclaw had once visited, seemed to be a crucial location. Claw of the Raven, posing as the legitimate successor to Ravenclaw, had come to this area searching for something within the great whirlpool's depths. They aimed to discover an item to help them accomplish their goals. However, their efforts had thus far been thwarted by a powerful sealing enchantment that kept them out.
As Kagal provided more details about the lighthouse and the city's location, Evan and Sirius began formulating a plan to stop the Claw of the Raven and uncover the secrets hidden beneath the sea.
