Chapter 33 - Chapter 645 - 646: Seeking Lost Diadem; Golden Egg

The passageway into this place relies on the resonance magic generated by the mermaid's song to open, and it won't last long.

Once the song stops, the gap will close, and Evan will be locked in and unable to escape.

He had to hurry to learn the secret of this place and leave before the gap closed.

Evan followed the path of the Raven and quickly walked through the rows of bookshelves toward the inside.

At the room's far end was a recessed niche with a tall white marble statue.

It was Rowena Ravenclaw!!!!

Evan had seen her statue before when he and Luna visited the Ravenclaw common room.

The marble statue of Ravenclaw located here was a bit bigger than the one in the school common room.

She seemed to look at Evan with a teasing smile, beautiful but somewhat intimidating.

A Raven stayed above her head, tilted his head, blood-red eyes staring at Ivan.

It let out a hoarse, mournful caw that sent shivers down one's spine.

"Excessive intelligence is the greatest wealth of mankind!"

The cold and strange voice that Evan had heard before resounded again, and this time, he noticed that the voice came from this Raven.

"If you want Ravenclaw's reward, bring her Diadem, and I will show you all the secrets!"

"Ravenclaw's Diadem?!" Hearing its words, Avon's gaze moved away from the Raven and downward.

He then noticed that the statue of Ms. Rowena Ravenclaw did not have the famous Diadem on her head.

It was incredible to realize that the Diadem would be clearly visible on all surviving portraits and statues of Rowena Ravenclaw, even in all written records, and that Ravenclaw herself would hardly ever take it off.

It is considered a symbol of Rowena Ravenclaw and has a special meaning.

Many wizards have believed that Ravenclaw's Diadem has magical properties, increasing its wearer's wisdom for centuries.

It is a very famous and legendary magical item passed down through the generations of the Ravenclaw family.

Whether or not the Ravenclaw's Diadem was used for anything other than increasing wisdom is unknown, but it was certainly a testament to wisdom and status.

The Diadem is also known as the "Diadem of Wisdom," and it is believed that only the wisest wizards in the world are qualified to wear it.

In the eyes of the world, Ravenclaw always wore the Diadem because she was recognized as the wisest wizard in the world.

But after her death, the precious magical item disappeared.

No matter how often her descendants searched the castle and her belongings, they found no trace of it, and the Diadem vanished into thin air!

Since then, the missing Ravenclaw Diadem has been a mystery, and rumors have been flying.

Some say that Rowena Ravenclaw couldn't bear to part with it and took it to her grave.

Others believed that the Diadem had hidden itself and would only reappear when a wizard of Rowena Ravenclaw's intelligence appeared.

But Evan knew it was Ravenclaw's daughter, Helena Ravenclaw, who had stolen the Diadem.

Wanting to be smarter and more famous than her mother, she ran away with the Diadem and hid in a forest in Albania, hoping to get her hands on a treasure that didn't belong to her!

No one knew about it, and the Ravenclaw never admitted that the Diadem was missing, pretending it was still there.

She even hid her loss from the other three founders, from her daughter's terrible betrayal.

She didn't even look for her Diadem, pretending it had never happened.

Later, Ravenclaw became so ill that she wished to see her daughter again before she died.

She sent a man, Barrow the Blood, who was in love with Helena, to find her.

But Barrow accidentally killed Helena and then committed suicide with the same weapon.

Centuries later, he still wears shackles to repent for his sins.

After their deaths, they eventually returned to Hogwarts in ghostly form.

Because of all their regrets and remorse, they stayed here forever, wandering around the old castle.

In the end, Helena never got to see her mother and never received her forgiveness, though the Ravenclaw probably never resented her.

On the other hand, Barrow blamed himself for killing his favorite person and lived in infinite pain, which he could not relieve even after his death.

As for Ravenclaw's Diadem, Helena hid it in a hollow tree in the Albanian forest.

The story does not end here; Evan does not have to go to the desolate Albanian forest to find a thousand-year-old tree, nor do they have to go to the Ravenclaw library to read the ancient books, to ask Helena and the blood of Barrow's painful love.

Because Voldemort discovered what happened to the missing Diadem, he went to that faraway forest and retrieved the hidden Diadem.

Instead of leaving it in that humble tree, he made the Diadem, which represented wisdom, his precious Horcrux.

Voldemort then secretly returned the Diadem to its true home, hidden in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts.

Evan thought about all of this on the way back.

So, it seemed he should thank Voldemort for making the challenge that the Ravenclaw had left behind very easy.

All Evan had to do was return to the castle, find the Diadem in the Room of Requirement, and bring it to the mermaids at their next sacrifice to get the secret treasure Ravenclaw had left behind.

The only thing that needs to be taken care of in the whole process is not to be affected by Voldemort's soul fragment in the Diadem.

Speaking of which, Evan has always wanted to deal with that Horcrux, but he has been delayed because he was not in a hurry.

It was just right to use this opportunity to get rid of that Horcrux and check if any secrets were hidden in the Diadem.

Evan said goodbye to the mermaids and resurfaced with the many magical materials he had exchanged.

Around 10:00 p.m., the dim moon swayed in the thick clouds, and the cold wind was gusting.

Evan was surprised to see Hermione waiting on the shore, huddled in the grass on the shore with a glass bottle containing blue magic fire.

She looked nervously at the lake; her body shivered because of the cold, and she looked very pitiful.

"This girl, not going back to the castle and have to wait here!" Evan's heart was warm, and a little heartache Hermione.

He knew Hermione was not assured, so he had been waiting for his own out at the lake.

Sure enough, when he saw Evan climb out of the lake, Hermione rushed over and hugged Evan tightly!

At the same time that Evan had dived under the lake, Harry and Ron had snuck out from inside the common room.

They walked slowly as Ron hid the heavy golden egg under his robes.

"Lavender was just too enthusiastic; we should have acted sooner. By the way, Harry, did you bring the invisibility cloak and the Marauders Map?" Ron asked nervously, dodging the three first years staring at them, "Who's to say how long this bath will take? We must be careful not to be seen by anyone else on our way back."

"Got it!" Harry said, looking at Ron's bulging shirt, "You said earlier that you had solved the clue to the golden egg?"

"Keep your voice down!" Ron said, lowering his voice and looking around the room, " Hermione wouldn't have let me go to Hogsmeade if I hadn't said I have an important appointment with Lavender. Besides, we're trying to clear this up a bit!"

"Why would Bagman tell you about this?!" Harry continued, "Why would he help you cheat?"

More than twenty minutes ago, Ron had told Harry what had happened inside the Three Broomsticks Tavern during the day.

Ludo Bagman had approached him to talk about what really happened, and the other man had then told Ron the secret of the Golden Egg.

Bagman said all the clues and secrets about the second game would be clear if Ron took the Golden Egg to a bath.

No matter how you think about it, the whole thing is very suspicious, and there is no reason for Bagman to help the Warriors.

If he were Harry, he would not have accepted the other side's help, which made him feel very bad.

"What's going on?"

"He said he wanted to help me because of my father!" Ron said, shrugging his shoulders, "I'm not sure if he's telling the truth, but it's no big deal; there's no way I can't figure out what the damn golden egg is yelling about without help. Remember, cheating is a tradition in the Triwizard Tournament, and during the first match, when I bet the other three warriors must have received help from others as well, there's no way they could have relied on their own abilities to crack the puzzle."

"Bagman and Hagrid are different!" Harry said, "We should talk to Evan and Hermione."

"Those two must have run off on a date somewhere and are hiding inside a corner getting intimate!" Ron said impatiently, "Don't worry, Harry! It's just a bath with the golden egg, and even if Bagman's lying to us, there's nothing to lose by trying; it's a bit silly at best."

"Okay!" Harry nodded hesitantly, "Where's that washroom you were talking about?"

"Sixth floor, that's the Head Boy's shower room." Ron said, "Fred and George told me about it; supposedly, they discovered it from Percy, and I've never been there! But there's usually no one there, and the passwords never change!"

After 20 minutes, they came to the end of the sixth-floor corridor, in front of the statue of Muddy Boris.

It was a wizard with a blank expression and gloves on both hands.

Ron led Harry to the door next to the statue, leaned in, and whispered the password, "Fresh pineapple!"

The door creaked open, and Harry and Ron dodged in, turning back to plug the door shut and looking around nervously.

"This place is huge!" Harry exclaimed.

For the first time, he realized that being a Head Boy wasn't so bad; this washroom was more than ten times the size of the boys' common shower room.

Not to mention all the other rights, it was worth it to use this shower room.

Ron nodded along, shocked by the sight before him.

If there was a word to describe this place, it would be luxury!

In front of them, a luxurious chandelier with candles cast a warm, soft light into the room; everything was made of snow-white marble, including the bath in the center that plunged into the ground like a rectangular swimming pool.

There were about 100 golden faucets on the side of the bath, and each faucet had a jewel of a different color on its handle.

In addition, there was a diving board.

The windows were hung with snow-white linen curtains; a pile of fluffy white towels was placed in one corner.

There was only one painting on the wall, in a gilded frame.

The painting was of a blonde mermaid lying on a rock, sleeping soundly, her long hair brushed against her face, trembling slightly with every breath she took.

They stepped forward, looking from side to side, their footsteps echoing off the walls.

Ron walked over to the bath, placed the golden egg on the floor, knelt, and unscrewed the faucets.

Harry followed suit, unscrewing the taps. He was surprised to find that the faucets spewed out various bubble bath liquids mixed with hot water, but unlike the bubble baths he had been exposed to, one of the faucets spewed out pink and blue bubbles the size of soccer balls.

The other spouted crystal clear, dense, thick bubbles.

Harry thought that if he tried, the bubbles would hold him up in the water, and he wouldn't be able to sink.

The third faucet spewed a richly scented purple mist that filled the water.

Harry and Ron played with the faucets inside the bathroom, turning them on and off.

They admired the marvelous sight of a faucet spraying a curved jet of water across the water's surface.

In the blink of an eye, the deep bath was filled with hot water, bubbles, and foam, and it was amazing how quickly such a large bath filled up.

The two people looked at each other, quickly turned off all the faucets, removed their clothes, and got into the water.

"Really comfortable!" Ron murmured softly.

"It's fantastic!" Harry agreed.

If he could, he'd like to bathe here for the rest of his life.

Soaking in the hot, bubbly water, surrounded by a colorful mist, was a wonderful feeling.

The two of them swam back and forth in the water a few times, having fun for a while before remembering the serious business of the evening.

"What should we do?" Harry lifted the golden egg with wet hands.

"I don't know; open him up first!" Ron said, swimming over to Harry to help.

At once, a piercing scream filled the shower room, echoing and oscillating between the marble walls.

The sound was still as inexplicable as before and mixed with all the echoes to make it even more baffling.

"Shut it off, shut it off!" Harry shouted.

Ron snapped it shut, and the two men gasped and paled, worried that the noise might draw someone else in.

"This is so stupid; I can't believe I brought a golden egg to the shower. Bagman must be playing a trick on me!" Ron said with chagrin.

"If I were you, I'd try putting it in the water." A voice rang out beside the two men.

Ron was so startled that the golden egg fell out of his hand and rolled away on the shower room floor.
