Dropping his backpack on the floor next to the desk, he plops down onto it and groans loudly.
"What's the matter, Max? Did you lose another follower on Evilgram?" Colosso asked from his cage.
"No. Phoebe has a new crush she won't shut up about. Cole Campbell." Max replies.
Turns out, it was time for episode three. He caught them in the hallway staring at Cole.
Cherry had given him a smile, which he assumed was Phoebe's doing. Along with the fact that he had written an unsigned note that apologized and slipped it into her locker probably helped.
Anyways, he didn't get too into the conversation. At all. He just noted her fascination out loud to her then moved on, having noticed Tara.
He *did* make sure Phoebe didn't see him and Tara together, or Tara see him with *Phoebe*. He wanted to see their faces when they realized it at dinner.
"Oh. I also heard that there is a dinner with another family tonight. How true is that?" Max simply groans louder.
"'Of course, Phoebe had to ruin our night by having a guest over. Next thing you know, dad will lift the whole non-supes rule!'" Maxie exclaimed, and his head shoots up.
"'I forgot about that. It would be good to have that lifted.'" Max told him.
"'What!?'"
"'You heard me. Now be quiet.'" Max says simply.
"Is it true?" Colosso questions again.
"Cole and his family are also coming for dinner." Max confirms, then stands up and grabs the book that the ethereal woman gave him. He crawls out of the window, intending to get away to a quiet place in order to read and try to get rid of at the very least, neutralize Maxie.
He had made... decent progress. The time has gotten up to two hours, and he could lower Maxie's volume. He could also resist his insults.
It was amazing when he had to deal with Phoebe.
During his reading, he had gotten a text saying that she was going to another family's house to have dinner from Tara, and he couldn't help but smirk to himself.
This was going to be *fun*.
~~~~~~~~~~
Putting the book in his locked drawer (it had three items in it, and it was already full, he would need to buy something separate, and bigger) he lifted the cloth covering his rabbit. "So, how do you think I'm sabotaging this dinner?" Max asked.
Turns out, he listened to Maxie on this one. He was retaining all of the pranks.
Except the bees. F**k the bees. He wasn't risking himself or anyone else's actual physical health for a laugh. Especially Tara, Phoebe, or Nora. He preferred them all intact, thank you very much.
"'Let's see, burping pills in the iced tea, industrial strength hot sauce in the soup, and four scorpions.'" Maxie listed in their head.
He lowered it to four scorpions, and he planned on not stopping *any* of the pranks. He was already friends with Tara, he technically already had a criminal record (in theory he would if he got caught), so did Tara, but they still hung out.
And about the day before and the day of the dinner, he skipped other interactions with them. He was reading.
Colosso just gasps. "You're actually sabotaging dinner!? That's devious! Tell me, tell me, tell meeeeeeeeee!" Colosso shouts continuously, at least until Max uses his telekinesis to keep his mouth closed. When he stops, Max lets go.
"Okay, so first, I'm putting burping pills in the tea. Imagine their face when they take a sip then burp like Hank after Saturday's dinner." Max starts and gets a cackle from Colosso.
"That would be perfect! What next?" Colossi asks, clearly excited.
Max responds, "Next, industrial strength hot sauce in the soup, that only gets hotter upon contact with *water*. They eat some and they go, 'It burns, I need water!' then when they take a sip, they spit it out because it burns *so much more*."
Colosso laughs again. "Perfect! What else?"
"I'll also release four scorpions, because why the hell not?" Max gives the bunny a smirk, a *genuine smirk*, as he thinks about the potential reactions.
Colosso cackles more before eventually calming down. "Y'know-"
"I'm not done." Max interrupts, and the bunny seems even more excited. "I'm also going to rig the casserole Nora is going to 'make' to explode. But only when coming in contact with metal, because it needs a trigger. How am I going to do that? Small magnets hidden in the pan that once detecting metal, the magnets will move from the pan releasing copper wires on the edges that the magnets were holding down before they spark against each other and light a firecracker with a short fuse, so that it explodes instantly."
Colosso cackles some more. "That's genius! I can help. Before-"
"before Hank turned you into a bunny you were the world's greatest supervillain. This isn't the first time you have used that argument, and it's not gonna work this time, buddy. I got this. Plus, even if this turns into a disaster, as long as powers aren't used, the no non-supes rule gets lifted, and I don't know about you, but I want it lifted." Max explains.
Colosso gives him a cautious look. "Really? Why do you want it lifted?" The rabbit asks warily.
That's when Max f**king *grins*, not a smirk, a *grin*. Then he responds with the grin intact, simultaneously making eye contact, "Because, I have *plans*."
~~~~~~~~~~
Walking upstairs wearing his normal outfit (jeans, boots, sleeveless shirt, watch, necklace) he looked at Phoebe. "Did you really dress up?" He questions his twin.
"Why, yes, Max, I did. Because Cole's family is fancy. If you remember, I asked you to dress up too." She responds, looking over at him, eyes drifting down to wear the imprint of the necklace is. They both wear it. Phoebe is wearing it right now, actually.
"Who cares if they're fancy? If they don't like us for who they are, they aren't worth it." Max shrugs, then looks past Phoebe. "Is... Billy in a tuxedo?" Max questions, raising an eyebrow as he looks back at Phoebe.
Phoebe sighs. "Yes. In his words, and I quote, 'what is fancier than having a butler?'"
Max huffs, then responds, "Living in a mansion?" He looks at Phoebe, holds eye contact for a second, then he watches a smile grace her features before she starts laughing. Max chuckles with her, actually enjoying a conversation with her for once.
During the gaps, they talk. They bond... somewhat. They still argue, like all siblings do, but it's never as bad as the show's arguments were. Probably because there's no episodic drama going on, at least not yet.
He notices Nora still acting as the chef. "Is Nora in a chef's outfit? Who does she think she is? Nora Ramsbow?" He combines her name with Gordon Ramsay's, chuckling more as Phoebe laughs harder. She has to lean a hand against Max to stay upright, which he allows.
She's not done laughing by the time their parents walk downstairs. Seems the Campbell's are late this time.
Tara *did* say she was going to fight them on going, because she already had plans. Guess in the original show, she didn't have those plans. Those plans were obviously with Max. Little did she know, this was their plan for that night.
Phoebe doubles over again, no doubt this time because she knows it'll be a disaster, not because it's funny. Max just places a hand on Phoebe's pointy elbow (Maxie was never exaggerating when he said something about it) then pushed up gently, getting her to stand up straight.
Max asks this time, "What are you wearing?" He asks, holding back a grin at how *dumb* they looked.
"This is an old outfit we wore to a fancy nightclub once. Within seconds, everyone cleared the dance floor for us." Hank said, then his parents started dancing.
Max simply raises an eyebrow, noting how Phoebe's face falls in his peripheral vision. "Guys, they were terrified." Max supplies.
"Who cares about what you think, you still believe you're a villain. Phoebe?" Hank dismisses, then turns to Phoebe while Barb looks at herself.
Phoebe shakes her head. "Max is, uh, right. That was painful to say, don't worry." Phoebe flashes a smile; it turns hesitant when she looks at him.
Max takes it with ease. "See?" Max says, looking at them. "Though, as long as Mom doesn't dance, she should be fine." Max nods at his words, turning to look at Phoebe, which she nods to.
Barb sighs. "Well, do you want us to go change?"
Max sees headlights outside of a window and shakes his head. "Can't. They're here."
Then he steps back, walking to the door and standing beside it. Phoebe follows his movements, then stands next to him, brushing out her dress.
Max glances at her then reaches over to hit the penguin butler, changing their family portrait to one of a normal family. When he rights himself, Phoebe gives him a grateful smile, which he nods to before waiting for the doorbell to ring.
Phoebe opens the door, and instantly puts on an aura of calmness. If he didn't know what to look for (plus seeing her beforehand) he would have been fooled. Clearly, Cole was.
"Hi, Cole." Phoebe greets. "I don't think you two have met, this is Max."
"Hey, Phoebe. We have not actually. Cole Campbell." Cole holds his hand out to Max.
Max just gives it a look before looking up at his eyes. "What part of my appearance is asking for a handshake?" He questions, and Phoebe gives him a look. Fine. At least until the sabotage started. "Max Thunderman. Her twin. Younger." He explains simply, giving him a look. If Phoebe looked hard enough, she would realize it was one of warning.
Cole nods, then steps to the side as two other people walk in, and Max has to hold in his sneer. He *hated* these people. They just infuriated him.
"These are my parents, Gerald and Fiona Campbell." Cole introduces, and Max hides his glare. He still does it but makes sure Phoebe doesn't notice.
"Of the Park Avenue Campbells." Fiona (which is how he would address her, in his head or out loud) says smugly.
"'Isn't Tara rich?'" Maxie questions, and Max has to hide an external grin.
The twist was coming, and he was ready.
"Hello." Gerald greets.
"And these are my parents, Hank and Barb Thunderman." Phoebe introduces, hiding her nervousness. He gets a look from Gerald, one of probably contempt. Screw you too, dude.
"Of the Marvin Garden Thundermans. Grrrreetings and salutations!" Hank greets obnoxiously, and he doesn't bother to hide the eye roll. To focus, he starts imagining reactions to the big twist.
He watched Barb walk to Fiona. "Delicious to make your acquaintance." Barb greeted, then gave air cheek kisses, which got her tiara stuck in Fiona's hair.
Gerald does move to them and separates them, though Max made it easier by using his telekinesis discretely to untwist their hair slightly.
"Oh, this is going to be bad..." Phoebe mutters next to him.
Max smirks, then mutters, "This is gonna be so good..." in response, Phoebe gives him a side-eye look.
Fiona then looks at the door. "And this is Cole's older sister, Tara." Everyone turns to the door as Tara steps in, and his smirk turns into a grin as she looks up, and her eyes land on him.
"M!" She greets, then steps to him.
"T." He greets back, then they fist bump, before miming an explosion. "So, my family's dinner was what they dragged you to?" He questions and she goes to answer, but then the redhead glares.
"You knew." She observes.
"I stole your wallet when we met. Of course, I knew. There's only one rich Campbell family here in Hiddenville." He responds, and she laughs.
Turning to look at everyone, Max smirks. The looks were astounding. The Campbell parents were giving him *a look*, probably because she had been spending more time with him lately. Cole just seemed curious. Phoebe was absolutely dumbfounded, with Barb looking between them while disguising a disappointed look (she seems to have realized this is who he has been robbing people with). Hank isn't even hiding a glare.
"Where's your room?" She whispers, and he points a finger backwards towards the stairs. "Cool." She whispers, then looks at everyone. "We'll be hiding away. Call us when dinner is done!" She grabs his wrist and pulls him in the direction of stairs, which he allows.
He vaguely heard Pheobe say, "Best to leave them alone. Max can get annoying when he is forced somewhere he doesn't want to be." As she drags him past his stairs.
~~~~~~~~~
Pushing him into a side room (that he had only discovered when he went exploring during his first week, this room is never shown in the show) she closed the door with a grin.
Pushing him back against the wall, she grasped his head and pulled it down to hers, locking their lips together.
He (obviously) reciprocates, letting his hands land on her hips, giving a squeeze before she pulls away. "You look really tasty right now, M." She tells him simply, letting a hand slide down his stomach.
"And you look delicious." Max compliments back, using his power to shut Maxie off before he can say anything.
Tara rolls her eyes playfully. "Of course, you just reword what I say." She flashes a grin which shows that she's not actually mad.
"It does the job, doesn't it?" He remarks, letting his hands drift up her sides.
The redhead nods, moving her hands down to reach for the buckle on his pants. "It does."
However, Max moves his hands to hers before stopping them, then turning themselves around and pressing Tara against the wall.
She grins at him. "Oh, liking the initiative~" before Max reaches for the button on her pants to undo it, which he succeeds at.
He grasps the edges of her pants (along with her panties) then starts sliding them down her legs as he moves down to the floor.
He doesn't stand up once down, no, instead he shifts closer, looking up at her face. Tara is biting her lip as she looks down at him, then he leans forward and presses his tongue against her center.
He feels her shiver underneath his tongue, which he takes as permission to continue. Moving it slowly up, then down, he repeats this process numerous times, feeling one of her hand move to the hair on top of his head before gripping onto it tightly (note to self, shave the sides back down, it's growing back).
Max speeds the movements of his tongue up exponentially, making sure to hit her clit on every pass. She goes to make a noise, but his hand reaches up to her mouth and she pulls a finger in to suck on it.
Focusing on just her clit, she circles it, teasing her before finally licking it. Flicking it with his tongue, he feels her movements and her breathing get more erratic as he goes on, before she stills, and he tastes it.
Of course, as any gentleman would, he swallows all of it. Then her hand grip onto his shirt, an he gets pulled up and into a kiss, which eventually includes tongue.
When they both have the breathe, because duh, they need it, her hands reach for his pants while they both pant.
"Tara-"
"You're going to f**k me. Right now." Tara cuts him off, then gets his pants undone before pushing them down, reaching for his member.
"Here?" He questions, groaning lowly at her hands on him.
"Yes, here, *right now*." She reiterates, pulling him closer and letting his rod feel her heat.
Max decides to stop arguing, and moves his hand to his own part, rubbing it against what and pulling hitched breaths from her.
He finally pushes in and groans *hard*. This was like losing his virginity all over again (which technically, he was), and the sound she made was amazing.
Pulling back, he pushes in again and she moans lowly in his ear. He pulls back once more before pushing in, starting to speed up a bit. She makes more pleasant sounds, but then he has to remind, "You need to be quiet, Tara." Max tells her; however, she does keep panting and moaning while Max puts more effort in his thrusts.
Nodding at his words, Tara tries to quiet down but can't, especially when Max goes faster, then when he starts rubbing her clit with a free hand.
In order to keep her quiet, he leaned forward and pressed their lips together, groaning into her mouth as she tightened around him. Going as fast as he could, he pressed his hand against the wall behind her, focusing on her tongue around his, and their rubbing against each other. Plus, his other hand on her clit.
Feeling himself approach the edge, he pulled back slightly before speaking, "I'm-"
Tara cuts him off, "If it's not in me, I'm killing you."
Max breathes out before asking, "Have you-"
Tara cuts him off again. "Twice already, just give it to me." She breathes out, biting her lip as she looks into his eyes.
He nods with a groan before pushing up into her and holding there, gritting his teeth as he fills her up. After holding there and making sure he was done, he plopped his head down onto her shoulder as they both panted.
After a minute or two, she remarked, "I like this, but my back is killing me." Then he remembers that she is at an awkward angle, so he pulls his head back, then pulls himself out of her.
Taking a second, he glances at her. "That was fun. Hope there can be a second?" He questions.
"Oh, there will definitely be a second. And a third. Probably a fourth. Possibly even-"
Max is the one to cut her off this time, "I get it."
"Max! Get out here!" Phoebe shouts. She wasn't disgusted or anything, so nobody heard them, which was a damn miracle.
Tara grins at him, before reaching down and pulling her pants back up, buttoning them again. She straightens out her hair and wipes her mouth to clear it of spit.
Max straightens himself out, not bothering with his hair. He hadn't been brushing it since he got in this universe, so it being ruffled wasn't suspicious.
Then, they both walk out and into the living room.
~~~~~~~~~~
Stepping into the room, Max suppressed a smirk at the tea. Walking to the table with Tara behind him, he used a single hand to pull a chair out for her. Once sat in it, he pushed her forward to the table before grabbing another chair and flipping it around, then sitting in it, his arms across the back. Impractical to eat, but this night was all about letting loose a bit.
He had been letting working on his powers, reading to help with the whole Maxie situation, plus many other things that had his attention. This night he could afford a break.
Max noted how Gerald and Fiona looked at him with a mix of what seemed to be (his ability to read expressions diminished drastically because a trait he inherited from Max was the fact that he couldn't read facial expressions, he was relearning that) disdain and disgust. He wasn't entirely sure though (thanks, Maxie, note to the sarcasm). Cole was just shooting looks over to Phoebe then back, while Hank and barb were giving him looks of displeasure (he's mostly sure).
Tara just glances at him out of the corner of her eye and sets a hand on his leg, which he bounces to let her know that it's appreciated. She nods subtly, and he takes it as she understands that he doesn't need the comfort, but he has it anyways. Or just you're welcome.
"Max, was it?" Fiona asks, and the table goes quiet.
Phoebe turns pale. "Yup." Max responds, and Tara's fingers grip his leg tighter.
"How long have you and Tara been spending time together?" She questions, and his parents turn to him. Cole and Phoebe too. They were curious.
"Since my first day of school here. A few weeks. I know about your frequent vacations. I know about your little... disagreements. I also know how Cole here feeds money to polo ponies. I'm also aware that you spent fifteen thousand dollars a month keeping Tara's record clean the past few years. She hasn't shown up to your house in handcuffs since we started talking. You're welcome." Max says with a blank face, staring her down. Tara's hand squeezes tighter, though this one is more one of trying to hide her amusement from her parents. She had been saying how she wanted to see her parents speechless for awhile.
Their mouths turn into 'o's, while Cole just hums. Cole *knew* there was something wrong when his parents didn't complain about having to spend fifteen thousand dollars unnecessarily this month. He just thought that Tara was finally going to serve time. Turns out, she was never charged. She had been getting away. Thanks to Max.
"You-" Fiona goes to start but Max interrupts her.
"Me, yes. I'm a good thief, and an even better runner. I've been teaching Tara. You should have no more issues with police. Well, unless those disputes of yours get violent. Which they have... twice now, I believe? Tell me, how much was that glass jar worth? The engraved one. Twenty thousand, right?" They stay shocked, so Max leans forward against the chair. "Word of advice; when you're in the same room as me, keep something in the front of your mind for me. Assume I know *everything*, because I do." Max said simply, pushing back to sit against the chair as naturally as possible. "Hey, chef! We're ready for drinks!" He informs, giving a devious smirk.
He glanced at Tara, to see her biting her lip, and her cheeks tinted slightly red. Was she *blushing*?
Billy, clearly not realizing what happened, walks out with a tray of iced tea, with lemons. Keep them trusting. "Iced tea is served!" He informs, then starts handing out drinks.
He leans over to Tara slightly before whispering, "Don't drink the iced tea." Which she nods to, but before he can get out of her space, she grips onto his arm.
The redhead whispers back, "That entire thing was sexy as hell. You're getting something very special soon, just for that. Be ready to rush on over as soon as I tell you to."
He chuckles lowly before responding with a hushed, "Yes, ma'am." Then sitting right-side up.
Max also discretely uses his telekinesis to spill some of Phoebe's (and reluctantly, Cole's) drinks over themselves so that they have to step away from the table to wipe off. He was even able to make it look natural. He affected Cole's, which had him bump into Phoebe, which made her actually spill hers. It was perfect subterfuge.
Then the first burp echoes out from the silent table. Surprisingly, it came from Hank first instead of Barb, which defies the episode this one was from. Probably because Barb wasn't telling a story like the original. Max smirked slightly, which got Tara's attention.
"What did you do...?" She whispers.
"Burping pills." Max whispers back.
"Good gracious." Fiona said.
"My word." Said Gerald, then a burp escaped him. It should get back to normal.
Hank burps again, covering his chest while Barb stays silent. Max looks at her glass only to learn she hasn't had a drop of it. Interesting...
"What has gotten into you all?" Then Fiona burps loudly, the best by bar.
"That was a juicy one, Mrs. C." Billy compliments with a smile, then he leaves for the kitchen.
In this version of events, Phoebe has no idea there's more in store.
That's when Max notices a scorpion, and he smirks. Nobody else noticed. He hides it, as he waits while everyone else talks, Barb telling her story.
By the time she finished the story, all of the cups of tea were gone, all except Max's and Tara's, but Cole and Phoebe never got to even drink any. He wasn't going to embarrass his sister. This was her crush. While he doesn't necessarily like Cole, he can deal with him if it keeps Phoebe occupied and away from him.
After listening to Cole's boring story without Phoebe's interruptions, Max smirks. "Hey, Mrs. Campbell, did you know William is a very sought-after hair stylist? After dinner perhaps he could take a look at yours." He suggests.
Fiona looks doubtful as the rest of his family give him a look. "We shall see." She says simply, still giving him a look of doubt.
That expression was obvious to him, because even *Maxie* would have caught it.
The little suppression thing he used was still silencing Maxie. He had about an hour and fifteen minutes of pure mental silence left. He enjoyed it, but occasionally when he was left in silence, he found himself missing his commentary, even if it was just *dumb*.
Nora then walks out of the kitchen with soup in bowls on a cart, yelling, "Soup is served!" then starts handing it out, deciding to go counterclockwise.
Max whispers, "Don't eat the soup." to Tara, electing to accidentally spill the cart on the ground when Nora got to Phoebe and Cole.
Phoebe (and Max) needed to not embarrass Phoebe for two separate reasons. Phoebe because she had a crush on the guy, and Max because if Phoebe was chasing Cole, she wouldn't poke her nose into his business.
It was a win-win. Well, except for the now soup covered floor. It wasn't a win for that.
Max glanced to his left, right at where the camera would be in the show, the wall missing. Except now it was a wall with a few photos hung up, and a large wooden cutout of a chicken.
Max hears someone spit, and he has to keep the grin from emerging. Maxie was missing this.
Good thing he was recording everything from multiple different angles thanks to some planted phones, plugged up to chargers. This was perfect. He would edit it to make it look like a standard prank session and show it to Maxie. And because he had already put in the effort, he would post it to Evilgram. He wasn't a social media person, but along with the fact that he already put in the work, he needed Colosso and everyone else that followed Maxie's page to believe that he was the same prankster he had always been.
Again, a win-win. He practices his editing skills for potential video forgery, and Maxie gains a few followers on Evilgram. Today was the day for win-wins apparently.
"Ahh!" Fiona shouted in panic.
"Sweet mother of minestrone!" Hank shouts.
Tara subtly leans closer to him, and he sees a small smirk. "Hot sauce in the soup?" She whispers, to which Max just nods.
"It gets better." Max whispers back, leaning forward against the back of the chair.
Hank grabs his cup of water and drinks some, then takes a second before spitting it in Fiona's face. "Ahh!" Fiona shouts again.
"Oh, that's *worse*." Hank says simply.
"What caused that reaction?" Tara asks/whispers with a wider smirk.
Max answers/whispers, "The hot sauce gets hotter when in contact with water." Tara just guffaws silently.
"That's evil." She whispers.
"Thanks." Max accepts the compliment.
Fiona stands up from her chair abruptly. "That is it! I have had just about enough. It has been nothing but mischief and shenanigans since we arrived!"
Gerald looks at his wife and turns pale. "Dear." He tries.
"One minute, Gerald." Fiona deflects.
"Dear, this is serious."
"I am aware! These classless hooligans-" Fiona gets cut off by Hank.
"There's a scorpion in your hair!" He exclaims, and Fiona instantly rushes to brush her hair, and a scorpion drops to the floor.
Tara starts to get worried, but glances to Max and sees how calm he is. He did this one, too.
"There's another one!" Billy points out, pointing at the floor.
"Quick, start catching them!" Phoebe exclaims, rushing around the room and grabbing a can, dropping a scorpion in, the same one that was on Fiona.
Eventually, all four are found and rounded up.
"We are leaving." Gerald says and turns to walk out of the house.
"Wait, don't leave." Phoebe stops them, and they turn around. Tara had gone to follow, but Max gripped her wrist, so she stopped moving.
She liked physical contact; sue her.
"I have a confession to make." Phoebe continues. "We're not really like this." Phoebe starts walking around the room, motioning to those she is referring to while Max rolls his eyes.
"You don't say?" Max sasses, and she gives him a look.
Phoebe carries on, "I asked my family, even Max, to impress you guys, so you'd let Cole hang out with me. We don't really have a yacht or tiny servants, and my parents really don't have fancy accents."
Tara snorts. "I've met Max... of course the accents aren't real..." The redhead mutters.
"Hi." Hank greeted.
"How's it going?" Barb greeted normally.
Phoebe gets to the final point. "I mean, maybe we took it a step too far, but if you can give us another chance, then maybe we can have a nice dinner, and you can get to know us for who we really are?"
A second. "Come on, dad." Cole pushed.
Another second.
"Fine. Our driver won't be here for another fifteen minutes anyway." Everyone sits back down, or in Max's case, gets comfortable. The finale is coming.
Max openly smirks, looking at the table.
"But you can forget about spending any more time with that... *girl*." Gerald said, and Max had the idea to just throw him but resisted. The next part was so much better.
Before anyone else could say a word, Max shouted, "Nora! We're ready for the main course!" Tara looked at him, and he winked, which got Tara excited.
"May I present casserole a la Nora." Nora says.
Max's smirk gets wider. "It's light, but it's really explosive." Max quips, glancing at Tara, and she gets the message. She starts scooting her chair backwards discretely. Hank reaches for the food, but Max puts his hand out. "Guests first." Max then starts leaning back.
"Oh, self-serve. How expected." Gerald retorts, and Max gets out of his chair, pulling Tara's chair with him, both of them standing against the wall now.
The very second the fork touches the casserole; Max knows what's happening under it. As explained earlier to Colosso, multiple small magnets hidden in the pan that once detecting metal, they will move on the pan to the fork, the magnets then releasing copper wires on the edges that the magnets were holding down before the copper wires spark against each other and light a firecracker with a short fuse, so that it combusts next to instantly.
The casserole goes up, and Max lets his glee known, a large grin crossing his features, Tara mimicking the expression. Everyone was covered. Even Phoebe and Cole.
They needed to get hit with at least one thing.
Fiona and Gerald stand up. "We'll be going now." Gerald says simply, turning to head out the door.
"So, uh, next time your place?" Hank asks, and Max rolls his eyes, looking at Tara.
"Enjoy that?" He questions lowly.
"Very. You're going to get a very special reward soon~" She purrs lowly, moving around the table, letting her hand drift along his back before separating.
Max chooses to ignore everyone else for the sake of watching Tara leave, and his eyes immediately go down. Right when she goes to leave, she turns to look at him and winks, knowing what he was doing before stepping out.
Once Cole leaves, Hank starts, "So, this no non-supes rule..."
"You're lifting it because we didn't use our powers the entire dinner." Max explains simply, looking Hank in the eye with a blank face. His source of entertainment was gone.
"Y-Yeah. How did you know that?" Hank asks.
Max keeps his blank expression as he responds, "I meant what I said to the Campbells. Assume I know everything, because I do."
"Psst, M!" Tara calls, and Max turns around while everyone looks at her. "Call me later."
He nods. "Already planned on it, T." She flashes a smirk at him before turning back away, leaving.
"She's the friend who stole the phones." Barb observes.
"Yup." Max confirms. "And you can't stop me from hanging with her. We're kinda BFFs. Like Phoebe and Cherry, but better." Max said, moving to his slide entrance and hitting the button.
"Maximus-"
"If my full name comes out of your mouth, I'm freezing you again."
"Max, you can't-"
"I can." He hops on the slide. "Toodles."
~~~~~~~~~~
Walking into school the next day, he immediately finds Tara. "How was the drive back?" Max questions instantly, opening his locker.
He only found Tara because she was on his locker.
"I got a lecture and the demand not to see you again. Look at how well that turned out." Tara responds, and Max nods.
"My parents tried to lecture me. Didn't get very far before I left." Max says simply, then the bell goes off.
"See you later, M." Tara says.
"You too, T." Max says back.
Tara then grabs his shirt and pulls him down into a peck, which he reciprocates before she lets go, then walks away. Max goes to his first class, going the opposite way of Tara.
Neither realized that Phoebe was watching from just down the hall.
{End Note: Sorry for the long wait. I'll try to do better, but no promises.}
