Harsh was working on his laptop when a knock disturbed him. "Come in," he said in a professional tone.
"Bhai you asked me to come at 12 today. So, here I am." Cheered Hanshika excitedly who is here for her college project.
"You sit I just need 5 minutes to wind up this," he said pointing towards the chair in front.
"Bhai your cabin is so, so awesome. It is so cool I never thought you could be this kinda cool. Will I also get this kind of cabin when I start working here." she commented all exuberant while eyeing his cabin.
The cabin was made with glass walls that create the sense of more room and are an excellent complement to the hardwood furnishings and high-backed seats inside. The large glass windows enable natural light to come in, reducing the need for fluorescent lighting in the workplace. With the grey interiors mixed with the office cabin furniture design and magnificent works of art, the whole cabin exudes sophistication and style. The aesthetic influence that the furniture placement has. The beautiful table and chairs represent a pleasant working atmosphere. A matching couch set with a coffee table is located directly opposite the desk in his office cabin designed in glass.
"Shut up and let me complete my work and No."
"No?" She twitched her brows at the no.
"To your previous question. You will not get any cabin unless and until you earn it. You will apply and interview for the post you would like to work like everyone else. I will not favor you for being my sister, while you are in my office premises." He told her in a stern voice. "When you start working here, you will be treated as an employee, and don't expect me to be easy on you."
"Bhai you are scaring me." She huffed and was sweating while sitting in a fully air-conditioned room.
"I'm not scaring you, just stating some facts that you should be aware of" he said while shutting down his laptop. "Chalo come on now interview me ask anything you want to ask. This is the only chance you get to interview me." He said jokingly.
Hanshika was nervous but soon all her questions were answered effortlessly by Harsh.
"You hungry?" He questioned, checking his emails.
She just nodded not knowing how to answer.
"Come then let's go out for lunch." He got up, buttoning his coat and fixing his cufflinks.
All excited she packed all her stuff and followed him. While walking after him, she could see the aura and respect in the eyes of his employees for him. They were all visibly intimidated by him.
In a short time, they were inside a restaurant, sitting. Looking down at the menu she questioned "Bhai, what should I order, I can't decide."
"Hanshika order whatever you wish for. By the way, their Chinese is enjoyed by most people around."
"Okay Chinese it is, then." Saying this she closed the menu.
After ordering, they were waiting for their food. Harsh was busy on a call with his client. On the other hand, she was busy checking out other people in the restaurant.
"Bhai.. Bhai look. Look!!" she said while pointing towards a girl sitting on a corner table.
"What?" he questioned, looking in the direction his sister was pointing.
"Areyy... She is the same girl, we met at the party that we went to last Sunday." She chirped.
That girl was sitting, looking cute wearing a white floral dress with her hair in a bun that was sitting on the top of her head and some strands of her hair that were freely flying in the air, and the round black spectacles sitting on her nose. She looked like she didn't care about her surroundings, and sat there carefree rejoicing in her own company. So engrossed in her book.
How can he not remember that face? She was the only girl at that party who was not trying to woo him with her looks or money, busy in her own world with her younger brother. It felt unusual. He was always crowded with all the girls at these corporate events and it felt strange not to get attention from this one girl that day.
Snapping her fingers in front of his face she broke his trail of thoughts "She is the elder sister of Saransh Gupta. There are also rumors that you are collaborating with him on your next big deal." She chirped.
"Where do you read air quoting 'these rumors'?" He questioned, irked.
Grinning she said "Sources Bhai.. sources. And I know for sure that you are associating with him. So, why don't you tell me something about the deal."
"This is bullshit. Don't read this kind of article which serves you lie." He snapped, making a mental note to fire the one who leaked this information.
"Fine. Don't tell me about it. Your wish. I will Just go and say hi to her." Saying this she got up and made her way towards Abhilasha's table.
He got busy on his phone. A little later, his sister was back and the food had also arrived.
All the while eating, she was just discussing about her only. More like she was speaking and he was listening. What other choice does he have? How cute she is. Her book choices are so amazing. How she asked her out for coffee. And what not.
After dropping Hanshika home, he went back to the office to finish some unfinished business.
He entered the conference hall. He knew who had leaked the news but just wanted to confirm it. He didn't like his business deals getting out and making headlines before he made the official announcement.
On the projector, the chats and pictures of his employee with his business rival were being projected.
"What do you think that I will never get to know about this? Do you take me as a fool?" He yelled. "I keep an eye on all my employees."
Holding him by his collar and dragging him into the main hall so that all his employees could see this. He stated, "You should know one thing about me, I don't like traitors in my office." His voice was calm, calm before the storm.
Everyone present there was frightened. They have never seen their boss like this, enraged. Sure, they were aware of his short temper but never once had he dragged someone like that.
His next words were loud enough for his employees to hear, "You are working on my payroll. In my fucking company. And will I not know about all the money being transferred to your account and your late-night projects." He glared at each person and shrieked "First and last rule, don't ever think about fucking with me. You will not live after that."
"Sorry sir. I made a mistake. Forgive me. I won't do this again. Sorry sir." He continued begging for mercy.
"I don't give second chances. You committed a crime, now pay for it." Throwing him away like a dust bag.
"Take this shit away." He called his assistant.
"Don't ever fucking try to double-cross me the consequences won't be nice. Now, get back to work everyone." His voice was calm yet lethal. Saying that he left.
