"No way, Qin Yu, in my lifetime I actually get to see you barbecue for me!"
After handling a bunch of people's invitations, Chen Bao headed straight for Qin Yu, shaking the sand out of his flip-flops before stepping up the wooden stairs to the barbecue grill by the lakeside platform.
He surveyed Qin Yu, who was busy grilling skewers.
Qin Yu glanced at him and said indifferently, "Alive to see it, dead after seeing."
That was another empress-level gaze; Chen Bao clutched his heart and complained, "I'm the birthday boy, okay? Be a bit gentler with me."
He then reached for a skewer of cauliflower that seemed ready.
Qin Yu added, "I'm barbecuing for Wen Xi and the others."
Chen Bao: "I don't care, I still want some."
