A curved blade whizzed through the air, slicing off a Minister's neck. It was actually aimed at Emperor Yue's neck, but the Minister was unlucky enough to step up a stair just in time to meet the blade. There it went, his neck flew off, his hot blood splashing across Emperor Yue's face.
"Your Majesty!" The people around him were horrified, but even more so by the assassins suddenly emerging from the woods.
"Damn it! There's an ambush from the Beast Palace!"
They were everywhere, completely outplayed!
The crowd was terribly frightened, and the Guards below were too late to react, seeing Emperor Yue and his party in grave danger.
Arrows were launched.
Shot from below into the Mountain Woods, killing those hidden assassins, there suddenly came the sound of horses galloping rapidly. Turning his head, Emperor Yue saw Archer riders throwing arrows, and under the distant attack of the Archers, the cavalry surged forward, surrounding and killing the assassins from behind.
