Zachary was still in good spirits at this time; after all, the incident from the morning didn't faze him much. If it weren't for his concern that his parents might worry, Zachary would have suggested that they stay inside the Black Car.
Even if the Black Car were completely engulfed in mud, there wouldn't be a lack of oxygen inside, and the vehicle could ensure the safety of the passengers.
When the special forces team member who was acting as a sentry on the car roof saw Zachary sit on top of the Black Car, he thought Zachary had come to take over his shift, and so he left the car roof immediately.
When Troy found out about this and came over, Zachary waved his hand, "I'm feeling alert now; I'll take over watch on the car roof for a while. I'll let you know when I have to leave."
Hearing Zachary say this, Troy hurried off. Despite the small size of the camp and most of the survivors beginning to take a nap at noon, Troy still had a pile of messy trivial matters to deal with.
