Only obsidian freshly extracted from the earth's energy meets the task's requirement. Over time, the color of the ore will change from black to gray and white, and will not meet the task's requirement.
This also rules out the possibility of acquiring obsidian from other sources to quickly complete the task.
Apart from this task, other Mountain God Temple tasks with Earth God Talisman as rewards involve ordinary activities like killing spirits and gathering herbs, and there are no time limits.
It appears that the difference between the Earth God Talisman and Dragon Riding Escape Talisman lies here, the latter being a superior level of teleportation talisman.
