Chapter 8 - Guns and Girls

I pressed my back up against it and reached for my gun.

A small chime was heard at the doorway. A row of

10 men wearing grey suits and ties stepped into the restaurant. They each had scars on their faces. Wether invisible or not they each carried an aura of immense power and status. All held a tommy gun in one hand covered by a leather glove.

Everyone in the restaurant turned to the men. Most residents just batted an eye and continued their meal. Some sneakily cocked their hidden weapons below their desks. Even the noise in the kitchen settled down and was replaced with a deafening silence.

One of the men stepped forward. He was of average height and looks. His hair was freshly combed back and his face cleanly shaven. His brown eyes scanned the restaurant to see that noone was taking him and his associates seriously. They all continued as if nothing was happening.

Deciding to break the silence Suzie walked out from the kitchen.

" How may I help you fine gentlemen on this lovely afternoon."

Staring at the woman before him he didn't acknowledge her existence and walked past her to the back of the building. Suzie seeing as he didn't take her seriously folded her hand and watched him.

He then sat across the table from Adam who was sitting comfortably without much a care in the world.

" Oh boy you really had me worried for a moment Mason. Hahaha I thought you're boss was coming here for a second. Seeing as it's just you and your goons…" he looked behind him and as his gaze returned to Mason his expression contorted to one of anger. As if cold water was poured over everyone in the store they all shuddered at the fat mans next words.

" Graves aint cheap yaknow. And is hate to have to send your grieving boss the bill. "

Sweat dripped down Mason's forehead onto his knuckles. He however maintained a brave face and lightly tapped his index finger on the table.

" Haha. Adam. Your a funny guy you know. Thats why I like you. But this time it's something I cant just let slide. You know what that is?"

Adam remained silent

" Ahh didn't think so pal. Well me and the boys have been hearing that the lady upstairs wants to start expanding her territory. And as we all know you gotta ask for permission before you take things! AINT THAT RIGHT BOYS?"

They also remained silent but each of them had a devious grin.

" Ahhh I see. I see. " Adam laughed and then smirked. " The fuck does that have to with me and you lead heads."

"Tsk.Tsk.Tsk. Thats what I like to see! " he clapped his hands. Gleefully. " You're always so calm in tough spot you're just like every other dog. Only difference is your just one big…overfed…mutt"

Click. Everyone was silent. Mason looked to his left to find himself staring down the bottom of a barrel.

Adam had a look of shock on his face and so did everyone else.

" Lucy!" Suize called out from behind the counter.

" Hey…Thats my driver. Although I have other things to worry about. Im not letting anyone take anymore than they have already."

" A noble cause…Do you know what your doing young lady?" Mason calmly looked passed the barrel into the eyes of his gunman. " That thing you're holding aint no toy pretty lady. Seeing as though you haven't taken the shot yet. I take it you're not from here. Well let me teach you a little thing or two about gunpower."

*Snap* The men lined up at the door raised their tommy guns and we're about to open fire when another chime echoed through the doorway.

Suzie sniffed the air. " Hey! No smoking in my restaurant!" She hollered in annoyance. Tired of interruptions she turned around and raised her fist but the moment she laid eyes on who was infront of her she fell to her knees.

The entire store held an oppressive aura. It was almost hard to breathe for everyone in the room. But as soon as it came it went away.

Towering above her was a man well over 6'2 in stature. He wore a similar style of suit to the gentleman next to him. However his was made of high quality black cotton than made his fit figure even more alluring. He wore a black tie around his neck. He held a fedora in one hand and a cigar in the other. His greasy hair was slicked back and his facial hair trimmed to a light stubble. He had an overcoat that hung over his shoulders like a cape Along the shoulders was a single star. It's inside liner was silk that was rows of black and white stripes. His white shirt heaved downwards as he exhaled a breath of air. That clouded the room.

He looked down to the floor and put out his cigar on the counter top. He then used his now free hand to help Suzie off the floor.

" Sorry Suz doctors orders. Helps me calm down." He smiled but anything but kindness radiated from his wicked grin. It was as if the souls of the damned he's killed were locked behind his teeth.

Suzie dusted herself off. Without thanking him she ran behind the counter.

While she did this he scanned the room his eyes locked on the interaction happening in the last booth of the bar. He stepped closer. His each footsteps hollow and deathly. Most regulars avoided looking at him even the ones that did were quivering with their weapons rattling in their hands.

He stood before Lucy. Who even after feeling his presence did not drop her weapon. He hands although shook in fear but her finger never left the trigger. He nodded and smiled. He then turned to Mason and frowned.

" So is she here or not?"

" I…I dont know boss im still interrogating this fool "

The boss gave an understanding frown while nodding. Not saying another word. He walked behind Lucy.

" Hey! DOMINO! I dont know what your planning to do but don't do it. Shes a guest of the Lady. If you kill her you'll have the whole family after you."

Adam said with a hint of fear in his tone.

His towering frame looked to the left of lucy to see Adam sweating.

" Oh its you… Adam was it? That's strange I thought you could smell trouble from a mile away. "

Adam chuckled outloud at his joke but inwardly he cursed. ' Shit I knew I smelled bad news. So he really was here. He used his goons and Mason as bait to trick my nose. '

He turned away and placed his hands on Lucy's shoulder. He quietly whispered into her ears.

" You know guns aren't toys. So if you pull em out. You have to use em. " His grip grew infinitely stronger and he slid his hand down her forearm and used his grip to steady her shaking hands

Mason watched this in confusion. " Hey..ha..Boss watcha doing? Its me Mason. Why you helping her aim that gun at me?"

He gently placed his finger over hers and started to slowly squeeze the trigger. Lucy tried resisting but his strength was in human. It was as if it was metallic claw closing . No matter how hard she pushed against him she couldnt stop it.

" Wait..!WAIT! BOSS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!"

" Shhhhh Just stay still. Targets don't speak. "

" BOSS! BOSSS PLEASEE!" Tears and shouts of defiance anger and sadness echoed throughout the store until.

BANG….it was quiet. Lucy stared blankly infront of her.

" Im alive! " Mason felt all over his body and there were no holes in sight. Lucy in complete shock looked up at Domino. She then looked at her gun which had been rapidly disassembled as if there was a rapid decay in its structural integrity starting from a single point. The pieces fell to the floor one by one leaving the wooden grip in her hands.

Mason heaved a deep sigh of thanks and ran out of the store unwilling to find out if Domino would change his mind and attempt to end his life again.

Domino ignored him and he looked to his right. A bullet hole was in the glass pane at the front of the restaurant. He then turned to the direction of the shot. His grip slowly loosened.

" Woah they're…Too many lady's with guns. First our alcohol now our weapons. Womens rights might need to be reconsidered. You almost bumped me off of my ride there young lady."

A young woman who looked to be around the age of 29 smirked at him. Her signature red dress always brought herself to the centre of attention. She also had fiery red eyes that seemed to burn holes in any mans soul who dared cross her. In her hand was a silver walther pp. Its barrel spewed fresh smoke as she cocked its hammer one more time.

Domino chuckled.

" Its nice to see you again. Lady in red."
