Chapter 2 - Glimpse of Death

Overwhelmed by the sight in front of him, Kurai plummeted to the floor, as all the strength he had, ended up being sapped away by the horrifying presence emanating from the beast .

The terrifying, grotesque creature, noticing Kurai's presence, slowly made its way towards him. Its overwhelming aura made it nearly impossible for Kurai to breathe.

As the creature got closer, Kurai was able to discern some of its horrid features. The Demonic being possessed a dark, evil presence, with an unsettling humanoid figure adorned with ten menacing horns jutting out from both sides of its head.

Its face, a horrifying sight to behold, appeared disfigured and sewn together, as if hastily patched up. A ghastly gash ran from the center of its forehead all the way down to its abdomen.

The abomination bore four spiky, twisted arms that lead down to decaying bear-like paws. Its flesh, rotten and icy cold. With just a mere touch, Kurai knew it would undoubtedly cause lacerations. The wretched being beared gill-like slashes scattered all over its body, a testament to its unearthly nature.

Its legs, rippling with raw, muscular power, connect to colossal blades serving as its feet. And as if that weren't enough, a long, rigid tail sharper than the deadliest weapon known to man protruded menacingly from its tailbone, instilling an even greater sense of dread upon Kurai.

Unable to move, Kurai didn't know what else to do but accept his fate. As the creature got closer and closer to Kurai, it became evidently clear that he was gonna die.

Suddenly, both Kurai and the demonic being were alerted by the sound of footsteps.

Without being able to react, the creature was abruptly flung into the wall next to kurai, making a huge indentation of the creature.

"Seems I made it in time" A female's voice rang out.

Kurai redirected his gaze towards the tall woman, adorned in a white cloak embellished with delicate floral patterns, her lustrous silver hair cascading down to her waist.

Just as Kurai was about to say something to his savior, a huge shockwave resonated from the beast, making the girl collapse right in front of him.

As suddenly as the shockwave, the terrifying creature closed in on Kurai, The ground beneath it shattering as it flickered in and out of existence, its speed unlike anything he had ever seen.

"Run!! Now!!!" The girl, now collapsed on the floor, shouted.

However, before he could run, Kurai was face to face with the horrifying creature.

As the creature stood there, sizing up Kurai, it suddenly raised one of its four arms, and slashed him straight across his chest, causing him to fall to the floor, and scream in pain, blood quickly leaving his body.

"NOOO!!" A horrified look grew on the girl's face, right before she passed out from exhaustion.

Standing over him, the demonic creature suddenly vanished into Kurai's body through the huge gash it had made in his flesh.

As the creature made its way into Kurai's body, his life started flashing before his eyes. Glimpses of his parents and him laughing while sitting with each other, Images of his mom flashing through his mind, making him regret not spending more time with her. Images kept flashing through his mind, as to take away from the agonizing pain he felt.

Suddenly, a voice could be heard, as if inside of Kurai's head "You'll be okay, I promise." A feminine voice expressed to Kurai.

Not knowing what to do at this point, Kurai just laid there, waiting for the grim reaper to take him.

Suddenly, a surge of heat covered Kurai, slowly making its way across his whole body. Shockingly, the gash he had gotten from the beast was closing, the pain slowly diminishing from his body.

Even though his body was healing, Kurai was utterly exhausted, struggling to keep his eyes open. No matter how much he struggled to stay awake, he could tell he wouldn't be able to stay conscious for much longer.

Knowing that he was gonna die either way, Kurai decided to close his eyes, and let whatever was happening to his body, happen.
