Chapter 78 - Tense Encounter in Mall

"Kiel, I need to use the ladies' room. Watch over Eros for me," Kaye requested, gently passing her son to Isaac, who cradled him with genuine warmth.

"We'll be waiting for you inside the Play Zone. Taking a stroll while we wait," Isaac conveyed, holding Eros with care.

Kaye smiled and left, making her way to the restroom.

After a few minutes, she emerged, heading towards the Play Zone.

She halted, she was captivated by a beautiful dress in a store window.

"Wow, so pretty," she whispered, admiring the dress.

As she contemplated entering the store, she noticed familiar figures walking in the opposite direction. Quickly, she concealed herself, her hand covering her mouth in disbelief.

Peeking out, she widened her eyes; it was indeed her husbands and the others!

How did they end up here? Was it a coincidence, or had they followed Isaac, did they find him suspicious?

Once certain they had left, she swiftly searched for Isaac and her son. She spotted them in the Play Zone, leisurely strolling around and observing others engrossed in games.

"Kiel!" she exclaimed, breathlessly. Nervousness was evident in her expression.

Isaac, concerned, asked, "What happened? Why are you running?"

"Let's leave, now!" she urged urgently.

Isaac furrowed his brows, confused. "Why? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, they're here!" she asserted firmly.

"Who?" Isaac asked, his confusion lingering.

"M-Mikhail... And the others!" she stammered, anxiety evident in her voice.

Isaac's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?"

They swiftly exited the Play Zone.

"But how? Are you absolutely certain it was them?" Isaac inquired as they hurried along.

Kaye scanned her surroundings while walking, ensuring her husbands were nowhere in sight.

"I don't know! But I'm positive it was them," she insisted.

"Damn! Did they get suspicious of me?" Isaac muttered.

As they descended the escalator, they spotted Kurtis and his group. It appeared they had divided into groups. Kaye and Isaac quickly hid, holding onto Eros. Once sure they were gone, they darted outside, heading to the parking lot.

Kaye sighed in relief. "Let's get out of here."

Isaac started the engine, and they left, leaving the tense atmosphere behind.

When they reached home, Kaye swiftly handed Eros to his nanny and requested her to stay in his room for a while. Kaye and Isaac settled in the living room to discuss the unsettling events at the mall.

"How did they know about this place?" Kaye questioned, frustration evident in her eyes.

"I don't know... Maybe it's a coincidence? Fuentebella has numerous businesses around the country. Perhaps they are here for business?" Isaac speculated.

"With the others? Since when did my other husbands become part of Fuentebella?" Kaye retorted.

Isaac sighed, sitting down and rubbing his forehead. "I don't really know..."

Kaye nervously bit her thumb. What if they already knew she's alive and were now searching for her? The thought of them discovering she's alive and with a child filled her with anxiety.

Isaac suddenly recalled the time Mikhail called him. "Shit!" he cursed. Could they have tracked me by calling?

"Mine, let's change our residence. Find a new house. Leave this province. I'll look for a place; we can check into a hotel for a while," Isaac suggested urgently.

Kaye sighed, recognizing the lack of options. She had finally found peace in their current home, but now they had to leave again. "Alright, I'll talk to the nanny and start packing our things," she agreed.

Isaac nodded, grabbing his phone. He realized he had to change his number to prevent any potential calls and tracking.

.

.

....

"Damn that bastard!" Mikhail cursed.

Despite searching the entire mall, they couldn't find a trace of Isaac.

His phone is off now. It seemed Isaac had caught on.

"What's the plan now? Any Plan B?" Kurtis inquired.

"He turned off his phone, so calling him will be useless. I'll contact Kira and let them track him in their own way," Mikhail replied, clenching his fists.

"Should we return to J City then?" Tristan asked.

"No, let's stay for a few more days. Maybe we can find him if we search around this town," Mikhail suggested.

"Yeah, and I also want to try some restaurants and stores here. Why don't we enjoy while we're staying?" Haru chimed in, his excitement for the mission now redirected towards exploring the town.

"I saw a beautiful scenery in a post. Let's visit there before returning to J City," Tristan suggested.

"I saw one on social media," Haru added, showing his phone and initiating a discussion with Tristan, Troy, and Cedie.

Warren and Benjamin approached Mikhail.

"We'll search nearby around our hotel tonight and ask some passersby," Warren declared, planning to inquire with locals using Isaac's photo.

"I'll join Warren in searching. We'll call you if we find something," Benjamin assured.

"Very well," Mikhail agreed.

After their meals, they decided to return to the hotel to rest.

Kaye stole a glance out of the car window as they sped towards the nearby province, seeking refuge from her husbands. Eros lay peacefully asleep, while Isaac remained focused on the road.

"You must be tired. Go ahead and sleep. It'll take three hours to reach CN Province," Isaac suggested.

Kaye glanced at their nanny, who had already drifted off. "Alright, please be careful while driving," she said, expressing concern.

Despite her worries, she truly felt exhausted today. Perhaps it was due to the events at the mall and the hurried departure from the province. She closed her eyes, and within a few minutes, she succumbed to sleep.

Isaac stole a glance at them through the rear-view mirror before refocusing on the road. He gritted his teeth with frustration as thoughts of his brother and Kaye's other husbands consumed his mind. He was determined not to let them find her. They had hidden her from him, so it's only fair for him to hide her from them as well. Moreover, Kaye had earnestly pleaded with him not to reveal that she was alive. Kaye was now content with only him by her side; she no longer needed them. Together—him, Kaye, and Eros—they formed a happy family, and he vowed not to let anyone ruin their happiness.

.

.

After a long travel, they finally arrived at the CN Province and checked into a hotel. Standing on the balcony and gazing at the night sky, Kaye's thoughts turned once again to her husbands. A sense of guilt gripped her, but her overwhelming fear had a more dominating influence on her emotions. She's too scared to face them.

Is this how she and her son will live, forever escaping from her family?

Isaac noticed her on the balcony and joined her. "What are you doing here? It's so cold," he remarked, draping his jacket around her.

"It's fine; the cold here can't compare to the coldness on the farm," she replied.

"Are you still thinking about the others?" Isaac inquired.

She nodded slowly. Isaac fell into silence, understanding that Kaye was grappling with her own difficulties. Living in hiding was not an easy path, but he's here to help her and stay by her side.

"Sometimes, I wonder why you guys love me? I'm weak, stupid, and selfish. Why do you stay faithful to me?" she confessed.

"Mine, don't say that. You're not like that. I love you for your kindness and loving nature. You possess qualities that other women don't have," Isaac reassured.

Kaye leaned on his shoulders. "Thank you for loving me," she whispered.

Isaac embraced her and kissed her forehead. "I should be the one thankful; I'm lucky that I met you."

Kaye closed her eyes, harboring a hope that someday, if they ever faced each other again, her husbands would find it in their hearts to forgive her.
