"ok then, I have somewhat of a theory but I just need to ask him one simple question" Yugami said with a completely different tone, shifting from laid back and chill to dead serious
"what's the name of this god you speak of" He asked me while looking straight into my eyes
up until now, I never knew his name. maybe I can try to describe him, will they be familiar with him

I had a glance of a memory, static banter just like this but I think it was for a different reason and I remember myself sitting there, silent and isolated while I stared at a beautiful luxurious stake on my plate with only half being eaten, my hands on my thighs as I write using my fingers 3 letters over and over again "W, H, Y"
That was all that I can remember, I got back to myself and see the boy look at the two arguing while Fiwan desperately trying to calm Melanie down
"Wait, time is moving, shouldn't they see you?" I asked the boy
"No, because my existence is to high and above for them to be able to see me" the boy answered while smiling

after that we just heard a loud noise in the background of our conversation, it was Melanie and Yugami, she had pushed him on the ground

she had an angry face but had tears in her eyes while he looked calm, weird for someone in his situation, and his eyes had nothing but pity to her
"I want to ask you, why are even this passionate about this? whether god love us or not, the truth will always be that he is no longer with us, so tell me why?"

the chatter from the other groups slowly died as they shifted their attention to us, but after just a few seconds Ozzy appears again out of nowhere and had grabbed her while she didn't retaliate and looked lifeless
"You've changed so much, Yugami" Ozzy commented as he turn his back to face Yugami
He lifted his own body up and sat cross-legged and a cheeky smile
"Yeah hahahaha..... you act like I ever had a choice" He said with another playful to serious tone switch
"I'll take care of her while you guys can continue talking, and if you fight with another one of your member, your the one getting restrained"
"Thanks again Oz, do you think things will be different this time?" he said but this time it was different, he had a kind of depressing tone
"I don't know, the world changes with no pattern and at random times, I guess you can only pray for it to change for the better this time"

Ozzy then takes his leave while dragging Melaine, Yugami stands up and looks around, "Does anyone have a problem, because I do, I seems to forget how much it cost when putting someone in the brink of death, would you guys be willing to remind me?" he said while pulling out his wooden sword, the wooden sword had a brown handle but the sword from the fuller to its edges has a maroon color, you can easily assume as to why, and that aura is back, just like before everyone froze up and most sweated allot, they all then chatted to one another in a nervous tone while trying not to make eye contact with him
my nose then suddenly starts to twitch, that smell, I couldn't identify it but it made me lose control. Sakuto then got up from his seat and headed for the bar
"Woah, now that we can have a nice chit-chat, your going to leave? How rude of you" Yugami said, ending it with the fakest frown
"I'm going to get bandages and an ice pack for you" Sakuto said to him
"Me? Oh come on, she didn't hit me that hard-"
"your bleeding, aren't you?"
He had gone silent for a moment, after that he said "did your god tell you that?"
"no, I could simply smell it from your head"
Fiwan then swipes his head with her fingers and gets blood on it, "You have the smelling power as me" she said

She then hugged Sakuto and her chest pressed behind his head and said "Your really like a little puppy, I'm claiming you as one of us"
Sakuto breathed heavily, muttering under his breath one final sentence

after he said that, I regained control. But moments before that, I could see his face, it was similar to the face I had when I was at the dinner table in my past life.

She release me from her arms and said "Oh yeah, sorry", Yugami gave me a weird look as I left them
I brought back the bandages and ice pack I promised. Fiwan took care of wrapping the bandages around him while he sat with his eyes closed in deep thought
after she was done wrapping, Yugami lifted his face and opens his eyes, then he said "Can you grab me a glass of Solpo Gin from the bar"
I walked back to the bar but before I could even stood up. he said calmly to me "not you, I'm asking Fiwan"
Fiwan scoffed at this, "I hope you know that just because I'm nice doesn't mean you can just boss me around" She said before heading to the bar
"You aren't the only one noticing patterns of behavior" He said shortly after she said that,
I looked at her heading to the bar, but my focus quickly shifted to him with the simple phrase of "hey kid"
I looked at him and had a confused face, "do you really believe in god?"
"This conversation again?" I said nervously
"don't forgot, your the one who mentioned god"
I looked at him silently
"I find it just really interesting, you say your basically Ianis yet quickly doubt that your god is real in a heartbeat, like your trying to hide it, but if you are trying to hide it then why exclaim that you have even any connect to god or mention him out of nowhere"
I'm honestly just shocked that I even get to mention that I have a connect to the god of this world, I read a lot of isekai manga and anime to know that doing that is just not allowed or just straight up gets me and them killed, the reason I even said that was because I couldn't think of bullshit to say that wouldn't hurt me in the long run, so I told the truth that either they would believe and let me lead, or don't and I could just go with the flow after that. This plan was absolutely flawed by just the chance of instant death alone and I could think more but hey, another reason was I'm a dumbass who's curious.

not really, I could still hear him, I just choose to ignore him. If I'm going to be real, my answer to him was absolute bullshit, it was meant to be cryptic, I'm hoping it makes me look complex or something. Like one of those cold MCs, you know like my favorite character Hachiman Hikaya, I think his name was, honestly forgot his last name, love the guy but kinda hate how soft he got.
I made my way to her, she seems like she was arguing with the bartender

"Wait.... This drink isn't for you guys right?"
"Umm... Yes? This drink is for an injuried party member we have"
The bartender then sigh and says "this is from Yugami?"

He then muttered "son of a bitch" Before telling us "tell him he can go fuck off because he's getting my pick, this will take like a few minutes or so"
"Alright then" Fiwan said happily
He starts cutting some lime while making conversation with me

"How long you've been hunting for the guild"

He dropped the limes in and continued the conversation
"She was distraught by it, as any lover would but this made her have an outburst constantly at the guild but after all of that screaming then came silence, until we never saw her again"
Ok, that was vague, he didn't give enough detail about the situation, while I'm interested to know about his knowledge on Hexia, I think I'd rather know what happened to a party that just happened to disappear, especially if our fates could be similar
He threw in some sugar and placed a mallet on the table
"Hey so I was wondering-" I was then cut of before I could ask my question
"So I need to address the elephant in the room, are you two... Dating?" He said with a judgemental look mixed with disgust
"HUH?! Where the hell did you get that? We just met like a few moments ago" I exclaimed
"Yeah, and I'm too old for him anyways"

"Oh, it's a misunderstanding, I have washed my hair with dog shampoo so that's why she wanted to smell it" I explained, hoping he doesn't judge me

Kind of weird to hear but seems I'm atleast somewhat known even if not by name, a masked man with an assault rifle on his back then orders besides us
"Here's the drink, ready to serve" He said as he pushes the glass with limes
He turns around but then quickly turns back to face us "Also, you should order something for yourself later, something non-alcoholic which is on the house"

"It's Vortex" He smiled back
We then left with Yugami's drink as he made another drink for his current customer
Shit, I couldn't ask him about the disappearance, maybe another time I guess
"I wonder when that other time may come?" The God said in a calm voice
That shook me that it almost spilled the drink, luckily not a big portion was spilled,
Fiwan noticed this and asked "are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, no big deal, just some chills" I said nervously as I quickly compose myself and walk back to Yugami
"Anyways, quick lesson for you, Information is valuable but never forget that it's a resource" he said as he quickly disappears
I'll keep his words somewhere near in my mind, I'm not a fool who dismisses all his words just because he's childish, he's still the god in my eyes, an entity that can bring some like me who supposedly died, somewhere absolutely different from where I originate, if what he said is true and that he will help me with the navigation on this world then I should listen to his comments and advice
I got back to Yugami who was waiting for me, he look at the glass that I was holding and said "This is far from what I asked you"
Fiwan was straight-forward and said "The bartender said you can go fuck yourself"

"I can't believe you became so weak that you can't do it yourself, as expected from the Arm Fucker" Yugami said back
"STOP HOLDING ME BACK, I'M NUKING HIM" Thoma said as he was held back by all of his party members

the sound of clanking metals echoed again, the phantom-like shackles showed back at Yugami's wrist, at almost a blink of an eye, he pulled out his wooden sword and struck Thoma only for Thoma to summon a barrier, the one that have those hexagons that you typically see
"Your such a show-off, we both know you don't need those shackles visible to use your power" Thoma commented
"QUIET YOU SHAMELESS FUCK" Yugami shouted
"Wow, Yugami is actually having morality and caring for others?" Thoma mockingly said
"Nope, not my thing, this isn't for him but for us as a group"
"What do you mean?" Thoma said with a look of confusion
"IF HE GETS HOOKED, WHERE DO YOU THINK THIS KIDS IS GOING TO GET HIS MONEY TO SPEND? FROM OUR PARTY" Yugami answered
"huh" I said
"DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU ORDERED BUT ACCIDENTALLY USED THE PARTY'S MONEY INSTEAD OF YOUR FAMILY'S, WE COULDN'T EAT FOR 3 DAYS AND COULDN'T BUY DECENT SHIT FOR 2 MONTHS" Yugami said with anger in his voice

Especially when she came out with that cow-printed bikini, It made her tits look absolutely massi-" He said in a friendly tone, but he was stopped when Yugami tried to quickly strike him again, but like before, he blocked it with a barrier
"Looks like your serious, lets battle then" Thoma said as he dashes back and throws a fireball at him, Yugami blocks it with his sword, it doesn't break and he isn't injured
Yugami dashes towards him and tries to strike him again but he shields himself again and throws a fireball at him, this going back and forth until Yugami stops
"I thought this was serious? your using beginner no-incantation spells" Yugami asked him
"Can't I say the same to you? your holding back your skills, like your using your contracts for a nerf rather a buff" Thoma asked back
That comment was interesting to learn, from what I understood from that is Yugami can buffs him on certain things but in return also weakens him on certain things as well, I'm guessing he only mentioned the buffs since he doesn't trust us yet
But still, it feels unfair, let say contract A makes the user have more damage but less defense and contract B is the opposite, more defense and less attack, from what I can see, there is no cooldown to switching contracts so in theory you can just have contract A when on the offense and contract B when on the defense. In short, he is more like a Master-of-all-trades since he can't lack in any department but more so excel at it
"Are you sure you want me to go all out" Yugami asked him, looking him in the eyes
"Yeah, I'll do the same once I sense it" Thoma answered
"Absolute Wisdom" Thoma said as he closed his hand, but just as his qoute has finished he turned around to see Yugami was already behind him as if he teleported and was about to strike Thoma but he freezes
"Got you" Thoma said as he punches Yugami and launching him across the other side of the room, Yugami crashes into a table of another party in the guild,
he gets back up and says "you still doing that pussy MBPT strategy"
"Fiwan, what MB-" I ask but Thoma was ready to answer me
"It's Mid-Battle Paralysis Trap, my dear apprentice"
"Your getting full of yourself aren't you" Yugami said as he dashes to him
as he dashes he freezes again yet this time for only a second, I could see Thoma suprise but with a smirk on his face, The wooden sword striking at his face but a barrier catches it, but even so, Yugami delivers a kick from his left foot, striking Thoma at the side of his abdomen, Thoma flew a few inches to his right, his body unbalanced but he quickly got back and was on guard
"Wanna do that again?" Yugami mocked
"Maybe, but not right now, since its time to teach my apprentice on some important combat tips" Thoma said, seems like his smirk didn't leave his face
People from around the tavern started to watch their battle, giving them alot of space and people cheered for who they want to win
"Cocky Bitch" He said as he dashes to him, only for him to extend his hand and say "Ten, Absolute Wisdom", the lines on his magic circle changing
After he said that, magic spears started raining in Yugami's direction, he dodges most but one left a scar on his left shoulder
He strikes Thoma again and it lands, blood flying from Thoma's chest, Thoma instinctively dashes back and creates a one sided barrier as he visibly breathes heavily
"Absolute Wisdom" He says as the magic spears rain towards Yugami like a gloomy cloud and a single magic spears drop besides Thoma
Yugami outruns the raining spears and goes beside the barrier and sees the opening to strike again and waste no time to do so
"The biggest factors of war is Information and Deception" Thoma said in a calm manner and a mocking smile, he grabs the spear and dashes back at Yugami, striking him but Yugami being able to block with his sword
Thoma, instead of Yugami, is the one on the offensive, striking him while he dodges and blocks. The magic spear dissapears but despite that, Yugami is still on the defensive, as he is the one who looks out of breath. Thoma gives a snobby look as he throws the slashed bag of blood that was hidden in his torso
"Know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. A Wuriam soldier said that once, Aiyang from what I remember" Thoma said
"Nonetheless, do you want to continue? You have yet to scratch me, your bleeding in your shoulder and head. The only thing you've done is tire yourself to this point, just give back the number one title to its rightful owner"
"Oh shit, so its for my title now. That reasonable, but I guess I have to show why I have that title then" He said as he coughed out some blood, he then rushes him again with a psychotic smile
He sped up again, and in return, Thoma uses his barrier again, Yugami strikes at Thoma multiple times until suddenly the barrier didn't appear, Thoma was struck on the left shoulder
Thoma quickly backs and scoffs, "Eye for an eye" He said as he grabbed what looks to be a sealed test tube with blue liquid inside it
The people at the tavern roared in exciment, almost everyone was watching, it was only a few who were doing their own thing and in the shadows
"Still got enough for a final show?" Yugami asked
Thoma ate the tube, he crunched the glass and spitted out the cork. "Yeah, let's end this, I'm satisfied either way"
Yugami started running at his regular speed
"Six, Absolute Wisdom" Thoma chanted, his magic circle changing shape again
After he said that, flowers started appearing below Yugami, and it exploded in a burst of flames, Thoma looked at the flames with a tired expression turned to shocked as he sees Yugami with his clothes charcoaled but not a single burn mark on him. Thoma quickly made a barrier but Yugami gave an attack that made his sword and body glow like a lightning bolt for moment, and just like one it had a powerful strike that shattered the barrier, the strike then connected to Thoma's stomach. Thoma could only give a painful look in response, he knew he lost
"'If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.' It was Aiyang Yurong, and he was general, not a soldier" Yugami said to Thoma
"So you did read it, fucking nerd" Thoma said in a pitiful voice as he drops down on the ground and bleeds
Thoma's party members started to circle him, one of them using healing magic on his wound
"AND YUGAMI KEEPS HIS SPOT OF NUMBER ONE" Ozzy said as he raises Yugami's hand
The crowd cheered and clapped for Yugami, most of them going back to their table
"Told you Yugami was going to win, he's ruthless"
"Really thought they were going to switch titles again"
"Thoma really gave a good fight"
"Of course he did, He's the Right Hand Prodigy, a dude who can use any magic with a two words, I'd be more shocked if he gave a disappointing fight"
"Yugami is just a demon, a dog who can bark and bite"
"You can say the same for Thoma, that what makes their fights interesting I guess"
These were just the comments I could hear, but there were many more that I just couldn't understand as clearly
"Hey, Oz" Yugami said

"I'm losing stamina and also call the medic and tell them I fucked up my insides again"

Me and Fiwan look at Yugami as he's passed out on the floor, Ozzy also goes to the receptionist and uses a telephone to call someone
He then walks back to us and says "He'll be fine, I also called Melaine to pick you guys up"
"Where even was she all this time?" Fiwan asked Oz
"She in a motel, few block from here, that where you guys are staying aswell"

"I'm guessing you didn't read the terms and agreement" Ozzy asked me
I nodded my head in agreeance
"Part of the adventurer contract says that you'll be using the motel who sponsors us as long as you are signed to us"
Ozzy added "We can make adjustment, for cases like family or quality of life problems, yada yada, I don't think we'll have a talk like that", he then ended this with a gentle smile
A few seconds later, Melaine entered the tavern. Walking to us then stopping to see Yugami on the floor

"Also don't forget to make him drink Vacit" Ozzy says as he throws a few coins at her
Melaine grabs it all with her only free hand
"Sure, let's get going" She says as she walks out and Fiwan stares at me with a warm smile, its obvious she's waiting for me to go aswell, I'm guessing she's just shy to say anything
