Long, long time ago
A wide variety of worlds were built upon a wide variety of stars, some more exceptional than others. Our planet looks like that. Throughout history, humans have taken what they wanted, killed what they didn't, and conquered everything they could. This behaviour has not changed, and as long as there is anything of value, humanity will find a way to get it.
Humanity has found a justification to wage war against every other species throughout the ages, whether it be fey, beastmen, orcs, and so on, always claiming to be defending justice. They'd long held the view that humans were the pinnacle of life on Earth and that every other race was nothing more than a pale imitation.
But in the end, they're really fighting for their own egos and greed. Humans pose a threat because of their insatiable desire to amass wealth. Their only motivation for continuing to exist is to wage war and acquire glory through conquest.
Some still hold on to this idealism to this day; others have already left it behind and let it rot with time.
Alas, no other race could ever appreciate humans for who they really are; they would always view them through the lens of a bloodthirsty race willing to go to any means necessary to win a conflict. They are not totally off base, to be sure.
no…
This time, no matter how high the price, we, the human race, will redeem ourselves.
The weight of humanity will fall upon me, Antara Sang Blanc, Princess of Hexavask, and so I shall call upon a hero from another realm to help me shoulder it.
"The preparations are already done, my liege."
As I rise from my throne, I announce, "At last, we shall begin the rituals." Grabbing my trusty talisman, I commanded, "Bring them in, William."
"As you wish, milady," he responds, walking away from my sight.
This time it has to work... For the sake of my kingdom and people, I will not rest until I have summoned a great hero from beyond.
Standing before me was a massive blanc magic circle, one of the lineages from my generations whose sole goal was to summon a great hero, and now, after ten thousand years, this is the day I shall utilise it; four mages from different parts of the country ringed the circle, waiting for my order.
But there was something missing from the circle—a sacrifice of something living and breathing.
My twenty prisoners this year, who hailed from a wide range of species in addition to humans, entered the building from the other side. That ought to provide a lot of usable power.
"Your majesty, they have arrived."
"Good work; get them in a row."
"Yes, your highness."
As they line up the sacrifice, I take a deep breath. Father Almighty, guide my soul.
Everything's going to work; it has to be
It's imperative that everything go off without a hitch, so I called out, "Heth my call, O great hero from beyond," and suddenly a flurry of green, yellow, and gold lights filled the room. "Infinite time, Oh white strength hidden within its origin," and the ground began to tremble in response to the chanting of the other mages. "Great hero of heaven, please hear my cry between light and darkness." As my talisman vanished, I said, "Become the wind that bears this ceremony, my honorable sacrifice." The captives in line began to tremble, and one by one they vanished, until eventually a pillar crashed through the ceiling, bringing the other half of the roof down with it.
The mist obscures my vision until I see a figure standing in the middle of it, and then I open my eyes. After everything I've been through, I finally accomplished it, Father.
I fix my clothes and brush my hair before making my way to the figure in the fog. As I draw nearer, I can't help but feel pain in the atmosphere. No. The closer I get, the more like wrath it feels. I felt like something was trying to suffocate me.
and I finally saw him.
His hair is jet black, he has a toned body, and he wears some odd apparel. Well, since this hero is from another dimension, I don't really question it, and then we lock eyes—hazel eyes, just like mine.
"We welcome you, valiant heroes of humanity. Welcome to Hexavask."
"what the fuck just happen"

30 December 2020
It's New Year's Eve! What a night to be alive... Oh well, spending every year alone is quite sad, yeah, but what can I do? Every date I've been on hasn't gone anywhere, and my sister has been in Japan for a long time, and I can't stop her because it is her goal. Ah crap, being alone in your thirties isn't enjoyable at all.
The year is almost over, but at least I can make it enjoyable for myself by cracking open some booze.
My sister would give me an earful if she saw how I'm living in LA, opening the fridge while going through my nasty apartment filled with pizza boxes, empty vodka bottles, and magazines I read weeks ago.
OK, let's check this out. Besides tequila, I stocked up on canned beer. That will have to do for now. I wish I had bought more yesterday.
While sitting on my couch and gazing out the window, I sigh, "I can't believe another year is going to pass again; it feels like yesterday when I graduated from college." I know I shouldn't spend my money on this, but it's addicting, and somehow time goes fast if I'm drunk.
The sky is already ablaze with fireworks, and I can't help but wonder what would happen if I shared it with someone wonderful. I wish I were with someone right now so we could relax in the park together, or maybe we could share a passionate night here.
I really need to get laid.
Hendry— You are really pathetic.
haaaa
This year, I need to give more consideration to how I will get through it. My kindergarten teaching income wasn't exactly life-changing, and I'm a frugal person to boot. I don't know, well, I survived last year, and, you know, my life is boring and nothing much ever happens, and I'm just an old guy trying to live his best life.
At least the kids' smiles made it all worthwhile.
sipping the tequila again. I check my phones, and many new year's greetings go through the screen. Where did these people get my contacts, and it's not even new year's... yet.
whatever.
I head out to the balcony, unsure of what to do next. My room is pretty boring since I don't have time to work on it, or more accurately, because I'm lazy, but outside my window I can see skyscrapers and a lot of people walking the streets; this city truly never sleeps, and the snow makes the scenery more lovely.
I'm imagining the worst: "I'm about 7 feet up in the air; if I jump from here, the heights are going to kill me." Why do I keep having these ideas of killing myself?
but eh.
I pray that everything will be okay and that tomorrow will be a better day.
Yawning, I turn away and head towards my bedroom. Since working nonstop without a break is no laughing matter, I'm about to shut the door to my bedroom and get some shuteye.
But suddenly, when I opened my bedroom door, the room was suddenly white; when I looked up, the ceiling that had been there was now a sky with crimson clouds; and when I turned back, my bedroom door was gone. utterly vanished... Nothing, now a dude is sitting cross-legged on the spot where my bed should be, playing a video game "what the fuc-"
"Oh, you arrived a little early." The man whose back was to me said "MOTHERFUCKER YOU CAN'T JUST USE THAT COMBO AND—" He jumps up, clears his throat, and kicks the monitor, sending it flying away as he says, "Hello, hello, HELLO, there, Hendry. I fancy meeting you here."
Finally, I can make out his features: a raging beard, sleepy eyes, a mop of curly hair that makes him look like a tramp, and a frail, underdressed body. What the fuck just happened? "..."
"oh your teeny weeny human brain must be confused what just happen, basically I called you here, personally, I saw you didn't have of much purpose on earth sooooooooo, I'm gonna teleported you to a new fresh world, sounds like a great deal isn't it hehe~" he smiles
"what? oh I get it now, I passed out and this is a dream seeing an almost naked man with only underwear is totally dream there is no way I-"
"Pfft, no, you Bozo, this ain't a dream; you are "here" because I wanted you to, and oh, and fyi, I'm God, yes, that "God," no hard feelings man, but I can do whatever to you, and I WANT to teleport you to a new world, which technically looks like Narnia; I guess that's what mortals in your realm call it."
I'm totally and definitely high right now, "okay?" in five seconds I'm gonna wake up, morning light will shine my face and I'm gonna be awake, I will had breakfast and coffee yes yes yes-
"Just call me... hmm, oh! Call me "Jehovah, God of Protection," but the phrase "God of Protection" right after my name is cringe-inducing even to me." He's coming towards me gently, swaying his hands.
"Okay?!?"
"Now, now, now I'm gonna give you TONNES of magic circuits cause I'm not a dickhead, use it as much as you like or do whatever I don't care, be a hero, be a villain or just be a background character no one cares about, it's up to youuuuuu~" he's literally five inches away from my face
"OKAY?!?!?!"
"in three seconds you will be in a throne room, a beautiful princess~ will approach you be nice or not oh and the world name is Zerxavask, such a lame name boo"
"I'm confused?!"
"one"
"wait wait wait I have a questions"
Two."
"Seriously, who are you?!?"
"THREE"
"HEY-" and again suddenly my surroundings changes into some kind of big room, the ceiling is busted and mist covers my body for a second. I look around and a bunch of people are lying in the floor with weird clothes that look like cosplay but then-
"We welcome you, valiant heroes of humanity. Welcome to Hexavask." A girl approaching me that looks exactly what that "God" said—a tiara and a blue dress—and she's pretty?
"what the fuck just happened?" and our eyes locked... hazel eyes
"Please lend us your strength. O great hero, for five years humanity always striving to the edge, and I Princess of Hexavask, Antara Sang Blanc, Humbly came to your great presence, asking for salvation," she bows
Can't be real, Can't be real, Can't be real, Can't be real—
I'm tired, drunk and hungry
I wanted to sleep, please.
