I maintained eye contact, and sincerity in my tone, "I want to learn from the best, and I believe that working with you will make me better. Plus, imagine the power we could wield together – unstoppable."
He tilted his head, considering my words. "Unstoppable, huh?"
"Absolutely," I affirmed, laying on the admiration a bit thicker. "You're the force to be reckoned with here, Rex. No one stands a chance against you."
Rex chuckled, his smirk growing more pronounced. "You're ambitious, Alex. I like that. But what if you betray me in the future?"
I met his gaze squarely, my expression earnest. "Rex, I couldn't even think of doing that."
