Chapter 77 - CHAPTER 77: The Mist Sword

[Third Person POV]

All of them were walking to their classes. Ciel was happy  now that she had more freedom to meet with Ryujin without making any excuses to her friends. As they were going to reach their classes George and Paul went to separate ways as they were form the Production Department.

Before they went to their classes, Ciel  noticed Ryujin slowing down his pace and moving back towards George. Most of them did not think anything weird about that but Ciel was quick to catch on. George quickly handed some kind of potion to Ryujin. They were really sneaky about it and nobody had noticed.

'I would not have seen it if not for my vampire senses but what did he gave Ryujin that they had to hide it from us.'

George and Paul went to their classes and Ryujin reunited with Ciel.

"It is 'work' related Ciel. I will tell you after I finish the job."

Ryujin whispered.

"That means he know about your  identity."

"Yeah."

' I know your are strong Ryujin but I still do not want you to do such dangerous task on your own.'

Ciel was worried that something bad might happen to him. She wanted to look at it positively but she could not help but feel off.

******

"Why is he not here yet?"

Ryujin said as he folded his arms. It was already 5:10 pm and Arlo still had not arrived yet to start the training. He had to finish his training and then head to the the villain's lair.

As he was looking around, he could see Arlo running at high speed towards him.

"I am sorry, had some work to do."

Arlo was a busy man. Being a teacher and a champion really took a lot of his time.

"It's fine lets start training."

Ryujin then took out his butcher knife and wore his hand wraps.

Arlo observed Ryujin's body for a while. He had already made a plan to train Ryujin.

"Your mana core is really good for your age and you have trained your body quite well. As I said before, your knife skill is brilliant but you do not know how to implement it with your movement. The mana path in your body is also brilliant so you can stick with that and keep on training using that."

Arlo  then swung his sword at Ryujin. Once it got near, the sword stopped before it reached him and pushed back my magic.

"I can see, why you focused on attacks only. Your Divine Ability always made it easy for you to attack and defend perfectly. However, it still is not powerful enough to stop an S-rank attack."

Arlo was referring to the wound Ryujin got on his right torso from Brie. Even though Ryujin let the attack hit him, he had to hide his strength. It would be beneficial for him to learn how to defend properly using his body.

"I cannot help you  train your Divine Ability and you have been doing a good hob training it yourself. Your knife skills are simple and simple is the best but there is no harm in learning some new techniques."

Ryujin butchering ability was A-rank but he had to hide it and make it C-rank just on the stats. He got this ability a long time ago and had to learn it by himself from the books. He did not train any further as there was no point in it....but now there was someone who was willing to help him.

He could have kept he snake movement ability book but his senses said otherwise.

Arlo then swung the sword again from the right side of Ryujin. He was able to follow the trajectory of the sword but he felt the impact on the left side of his body.

'Huh? How did the sword manage to do that?'

If he did not have Kairos and his sixth sense then the sword would have definitely reached him.

"Your Divine Ability is quite the cheat. Well, that is the technique I am going to be teaching you. It

is a combination of a mana art and a martial art.  I call it 'The Mist Sword.'"

Arlo said the name go the technique while puffing his chest.

"Isn't it quite a cringe name cause the technique creates illusion not mist...right."

Arlo mood  just went south. He was so happy to reveal the name, just for it to be called cringe.

"Ahem...the illusion is created by vibrating the mana using your mana and your body to manipulate it. This art does not have any sort of first or last forms but still it took me ten years to master it."

"Oh! Since the air is used in this technique....I see why it is called the mist sword, not a cringe name anymore."

Ryujin replied with a smile on his face. He was excited to learn this technique.

Arlo was pleased that Ryujin liked the name.

"Now lets  begin the training."

"Ok"

******

"Haa! Lets stop for a bit."

Ryujin said as he fell on the floor. Arlo had been training him for one hour straight and did not stop at any occasion.

This time Arlo stopped for a bit and thought about Ryujin's performance.

'He managed to create an illusion for half a second and managed to do it for more than twenty times. He quickly  picked  up on the technique and implemented it quite well. Even though, he made some mistakes, he quickly learned from them. His observation and instinct are one of th best I have ever witnessed.'

Ryujin sixth sense would passively find a way for observe and evaluate anything within a fraction of seconds. His sixth sense was so good that he could dodge any attack he wanted to but that would make Arlo question Ryujin's true capabilities.

"Sensei! Can we end the session now?"

"Why?"

"I know you are going to be busy for a few months and I do not want to waste a lot of your time and the things you are teaching me are just the basics. I think I can practice them on my own."

Arlo was going to reject  Ryujin's offer but now that he had heard Ryujin, he thought about it for a while. He definitely had a lot of work  to do and what he was teaching Ryujin was the basic and he was not the type to slack off on the training as well.

"Ok.Lets do that until we advance to the next stage to the art. I do need some time for the work I am about to do but I will check on your progress in our next session until then I need you to be able to create an illusion for at least ten seconds."

Arlo commanded Ryujin and immediately walked away.

"Sensei! Make sure you get her."

Ryujin shouted at Arlo.  He acted as if he did not listen but on the inside he was happy that there was someone who could understand him.

'That  kid. How does he know everything?'

After Arlo left Ryujin trained for fifteen minutes more and headed back to his dorm.

******

"You crazy woman...what kind of stuff did you even buy."

"Huh! What's the problem?"

Ryujiin was on a call with Brie. After his training, he took a shower and as he was cooking a got a message from the bank.

[ You have spent half a billion dollar.]

At first Ryujin was shocked to see the message. Usually, the bank would have probably given him a call to check if he was actually to one who had spent the money but the people there did not call him as the account was for the Rune Mage and none of them  had the guts to ask him.

'What did I even buy worth something this much? Did I lose my memory....wait a minute. That fucking chimera.'

He remembered  that he had given his bank account to Brie. He immediately called her and now to the present.

"What do you mean what's the problem. You spent half a billion dollar in a week. What did you even buy?"

Ryujin was screaming.

" Chill! All the money I spent was to make this dungeon a better place for me to live and most of the money went to buy the equipments so I could make the chimera you ordered. You may not know this but making a chimera is a huge project and needs a lot of money."

Brie replied to him in a calm voice.

Ryujin also calmed himself. If it was work related then he was fine with the amount of money spent and she did need some money to survive it as well.

"By the way how the fuck do you have so much money at such a young age? Were your parents that rich?"

Brie did not know the bank account was of the Rune Mage and Ryujin also had not tell her about it.

" I will tell that to you later on. I have some more work for you to-"

As he was talking, he heard a pop sound from the other side of the call. He recognized what is was.

"Brie...How many champagne did you buy?"

"Hieekkk... I did not buy any champagne. What  are you talking about?"

It was pretty obvious that she was lying. She decided to open the drink but did not know that it would make a big noise.  Ryujin just hoped he had not spent a lot on it.

"I order Brie to tell me the truth."

Ryujin used the power of the mana contract and forced Brie to say it.

" I bought exactly fifty champagnes. Each worth, ten thousand dollars."

She immediately closed her mouth with her hand after saying that. She had spent five hundred thousand just on champagne. She was ready for Ryujin to shout at her but he did not say anything.

"Are you not going to scold me?"

" Did you buys those just for fun or you know to forget about something."

Instead of being angry, he was worried that she had bought so much alcohol cause people often use alcohol to get away form their misery. Brie felt guilty now Ryujin said that but also was happy that he was considerate of her condition.

'I do not know if he is faking it but it does feel nice.'

"Um...I bought it for enjoyment. I am sorry for spending so much."

Brie said that apologetically and even bowed her head slightly.

" Just don't drink too much and as I was saying, I need you to make some more chimeras for me."

Ryujin then asked the system to send the files he had made. Brie opened the files and was surprised.

"What do you need so this many and complicated chimeras for?"

"Just make them soon as you can. If you have to delay the previous  project then delay it."

Brie still did not found her answer on why she needed it so she asked again.

"Are you trying to destroy a city with this many chimera?"

"I have found a way to bring down Genda. You know what that means right?"

Brie's aura started to leak when she heard that  name. He was the son of the person she was trying to kill so she wanted to see everything he owned burned down.

"I will make it within three days."

Brie cut off the call and got to work.

" I will kill you for what you did to me. You took the most precious part of my life. Swear on my life, you will receive something more worse than death.'
