"The heck! What a... fuck are you... talking ....about...?" Avis Wafula asked the people who had surrounded him. He thought that there was one amongst them that was taunting him because from the world where he came from, there were machines that could enable one to breach through the brains of the target and talk to them without the target or the people around the target knowing. So, Avis Wafula was still thinking that there was a person who was using the said machine to get on his nerves.
'What a fuck is system? System my foot? You better stop pulling my legs!'
"Dad, are you alright?" The five years old girl asked again. Tears were dripping down her cheeks because there was nothing that she could do, her dad was also talking stupidly as if he was a retard which made her to weep even more. Had their father gone or was this their father's last words before he died for real?
"Beep"
_"Cavern scorpion poison detected in the body of the host... 90% of Host's body has already been affected and host will die in the next moment..."
_"Does host want the poison to be neutralized or you want to die completely and join other wandering souls in the realm of the undead?"
"What a fuck? I am dead already right? How can I die once again. Who ever is taunting me, you better stop it right now, or are the demons the ones which are talking to me right now?" Avis Wafula swept his glance across the whole room and what he could see was only new people whom he had never met and a new place which made him to acknowledge that he was indeed in a strange place. In his past life, he had read and been told from time to time by his bishop that there was life after death while other sources said that there was no second life and all the "bad" people who died, their souls were destroyed. Some said that when one died, their souls were brought back into a new body of a human body or even an animal or a tree. The conjectures surrounding life and death were countless. But Avis Wafula believed in only one thing which his bishop said to him that there was life after death.
Avis Wafula gritted his teeth and bit his tongue with his mouth quivering which made the little girl beside him too sad and helpless by the situation that her father was in.
The healer who was quivering earlier calmed down knowing that King Avis Wafula was almost dieing. She had thought that King Avis Wafula had healed miraculously because he had come back from the death but even if he had resurrected, so what? He would die once again because the poison that they used was a potent one and it was still inside his body as she could see that Avis Wafula was still spurting black blood while trying to talk.
"Beep"
_"Host should decide now whether he wants to die or the poison to be neutralized. If host remans quite, it would be taken that host wants to die... You have remained with ten seconds to decide."
[ 10sec... 9sec... 8sec... 7sec... 6sec... 5sec... 4sec..." ]
'No, no... Wait. Neutralize the poison. I don't want to die.' Avis Wafula said internally because the poison had affected him so much in such a way that he couldn't even utter a word. If there was a person in the midst of the group that had surrounded him who was taunting him, he didn't care, he was now leaning on this last beat of luck, to see if a miracle might happen, who knew maybe there was a different power which was talking to him other that the people around him the way he thought?
"Beep"
_"Proceeding with curing the host... The neutralization will last for ten seconds so, host should brace for the pain..."
'Wait, you didn't tell me that there was some pain involved here. Is it possible to make it painle..." Avis Wafula's voice was halted by prickings all over his body. He felt as if he was thrown in a hive full of agitated bees. He could not help but curse the voice behind the system. His whole body sweated and released a putrid stench which made the people around him to take a step back because they couldn't breathe but Alice remained by his side not moving on the slightest even if she was being urged by the healers to move aside. It was not until his brother Kyle took her away forcefully from the "corpse" of their father.
"What is wrong? Did you do something with the body of the king?" Samuel Jackson asked one of the healers dauntingly whole his hand on the hilt of his sword. If the healer said any wrong word, her head would roll.
_"Neutralization completed successfully."
Avis Wafula could now feel lively the way he was in his previous life. Some energy was still in his body which enabled him to sat up and observe his new body. He was utterly dismayed by what he saw. The body that he was in though it was weak as his bones were sticking out, Avis Wafula could tell that this body was young, probably it was around twenty years old.
"Where am I." Avis Wafula asked himself in a murmur. He could tell that he had gone back to the past just from the environment that he was seeing. As a mechanic, this was something that he was not used to it. Before he could start complaining, the system chimed in...
_"Host has been cured from the Cavern scorpion poison... Now the first thing that host should know is that the heavens have selected you from the countless wandering souls and gave you another chance to live because of your magnanimity."
_"In addition, the heavens have also given host an Immortal life..."
"Wait. So this is a real thing and I am not hallucinating?"
_"Affirmative."
