Anna couldn't believe her ears.
"You... you took them off," she stuttered, her voice barely audible, and he smiled. She had successfully embarrassed herself. What would her father say if he were alive? She dared not think of his words now, not with Ray chuckling before her. Please let the ground just open up and swallow me whole, she prayed in her head.
"Calm down, you are overreacting. I brought you home, yes. You passed out in my arms, and to make things worse, you ruined one of my favorite shirts. But the undressing you part, I didn't do that. My female maids did. So, clear whatever thoughts have started forming in that head of yours. I'm not a pervert. I like my women receptive and conscious," he said dryly.
"I'm sorry," Anna apologized, her head bowed slightly to avoid looking into his eyes.
His mouth lifted slightly in a wry smile. "It was a fascinating evening. Not one that I'd forget in a hurry."
