Chapter 57 - "New year, New me, New you."

The girl sat in the middle of the meadow, closing her eyes and feeling the breeze. It was as if the world belonged to her, even this new year. Her light brown hair shone in the sunlight as if her day was full of small happiness.

Srek-srek.

The sound of footsteps on the grass was heard, then the person sat down next to the girl. Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail, and her green eyes were beautiful in the sunlight.

"If Mrs. Larina catches you, you're finished." The person turned her head towards the girl, who did not turn her head, just opened her eyes before closing them. Those blood-red eyes were a stark contrast to that sea of green.

"Don't care."

"Pftt..." The black-haired girl chuckled and smiled softly, looking up at the sky. After all, if the person next to her was being punished, she would also be punished for breaking the rules.

It was quiet again. No one spoke, just an ordinary day on a day that was considered special.

The special day that was once considered ordinary has changed.

The handheld an invitation to the wedding.

In a sea of green, the woman cried while holding the invitation letter.

The white-haired man had gentle features, but now he frowned at his opponent, the light brown-haired woman.

"I said left." The man said firmly. Hearing that, the woman frowned, not accepting any of this, "No, I am your guide and I will choose the way!"

"I'm not going if we go right, period." The man stood there, unwilling to move.

"Fine, find another guide, I will not see you again!"

The woman quickly walked away from the man, and the man also quickly walked in the direction she had chosen.

Less than an hour later, they met again at the same place.

"..."

"..."

A memorable day of fighting for what you wanted, and it happened again.

"We'd better go this way, the sooner the better." The man said.

The woman turned her head in the direction indicated, frowning briefly before turning her head in the opposite direction of the man's choice, "I think we should go this way. I heard there are flower sellers there."

"But if we're late, we won't get the tickets."

"It's still early, there's no way the tickets will run out that fast."

Both of them looked at each other, and even though one of them had a cloth covering his eyes, it felt like they were both staring at each other as if they didn't want to lose.

Only then did they both turn to the boy standing in the middle of them.

"Eri, what do you prefer, right or left?" The woman asked the boy.

"Whatever you choose will be the answer." The man said.

The child in the middle could only raise his head in confusion.

Uh, we just want to buy new clothes, why is it so complicated?

"Do you like the dress?" The girl, who had the same face as the woman, turned in front of the mirror.

Her black hair fluttered every time she turned around with confidence.

" Um! I like it!"

The woman who heard the girl's words immediately raised her hand and called out to the owner of this boutique.

"Give me all the clothes here."

The boutique owner who heard this widened his eyes and nodded happily, "Sure, ma'am, please wait a moment."

The girl was not disturbed by the conversation between the two and still smiled sweetly in the mirror.

Happiness is a happy thing.

The New Year was full of celebration, full of singing, and hope for the future, but in contrast to the singing, the dark blue-haired boy still sat in front of the fireplace with sparkling eyes as he read the shabby note.

How many times had he read it, and yet he was not bored.

It felt as if he had been given extraordinary courage.

At the end of the blank note came the writing that never existed.

The canary that sings in the midst of loneliness. I am the luckiest prince to be able to go on an adventure with you. To discover the truth about the world together.

If... if we can meet again, I want to say this sentence to you.

"New year, new me, new you..." The little boy who saw the writing suddenly widened his eyes. Soon, the sound of firecrackers was heard, making the boy turn his head to look out the window.

" Pst, prince, prince..." Suddenly there was a whisper from behind the door.

"It's me, Axel, Prince, please open the door."

The boy was startled and quickly put the shabby note in his pocket and opened the door with magic.

"Let's go, the others are waiting." The man walked over to the boy and held out his hand.

"...Um..."

Little canaries. Don't be afraid to sing, because I will listen to your beautiful song.

His face was very pale, his white hair dyed in beautiful holographic colors. Just on an empty white planet with nothing, the little boy cried loudly, hoping that someone would comfort him.

He knew he was alone.

He had been alone from the beginning.

This loneliness made him feel very empty.

So empty and so sad.

Without realizing it, his eyes welled up and a sniffing sound was heard. Immediately, the brown-haired child who was hiding was startled and ran over to the crying child. He was carrying an enormous amount of sweets in a basket.

"Are you hungry...?" He was so shocked that he didn't know what to say.

The pale wheat-haired boy turned around and immediately hugged the brown-haired boy.

"Fate...?"

"..."

Even loneliness is very sad, even for those who have experienced it.

In the year when we become a new us, even if we are lonely, don't forget to look at the fireworks that light up the world.

Look, there are so many people.

It's filled with people.

They look up and see the beauty of the light that will soon be gone.

But that light is still burning in your heart.

Yes, that's you, the firework, even when you think there is no one, there are those who remember you, your light, and your smile.

Well then...

Happy New Year!
