'I'm fucked.' Chikao thought.

[Yes you are]

The detective fell from the height of the building getting a full face blast of wind pressure before falling face first on the ground. Unfortunately, the person who threw the object and bit the system, Chikao landed flat on his back on one of the soft trash bags discarded in the alley.

Groaning in pain from the fall, Chikao rubbed his back. "Agh..."

[Poor you] Systems emoji changed to rolling its eyes.

"Shut up." Chikao was still in pain but was more annoyed by the system then. However, he couldn't think of a comeback in time because another object besides himself came through the window and landed nicely beside him.

[Karma] System (emoji) pushed their fake glasses down and gave Chikao an annoying smirk.

Chikao grimaced at the cheeky message that he received from the cocky system. "Shut up you fucking ass-" But before he could respond, Chikao was again interrupted by another object landing perfectly on top of the other object. Chikao looked between the new object and the system. "Okay, maybe I should get out of here."

[Are you sure about that?] The system's emoji held another cocky expression which in turn irritated the 'endangered' detective.

Pushing his weight off the dirty trash bags, Chikao rose to his own feet. The detective took a second to observe his surroundings for an exit but didn't take long when he looked in front of himself.

"HEY YOU!!" A brightly colored redhead, almost the same as Ayuka's, appeared through the window. "GET BACK HERE!"

In the process of Chikao's actions (and how long he took), the hot-tempered lady, whom Chikao assumed was the head of the Pyro club, had somehow climbed the wall and was scaling down it despite the lack of useful magic in play.

[You should start running] System said with a cold sweat going down its face.

Chikao, who had left the system behind, was running for his life. "You don't need to tell me twice!" He yelled out loud to nobody, or that's what the redhead saw after climbing through the small hole in the wall.

[What the hell!] System typed while trying to maneuver their way back to Chikao with whatever they used to do in the first place.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY!!!" The woman screamed at Chikao, questioning whether he was simply stupid or just plain insane.

"NOTHING!!!" Still running, Chikao yelled back as the system attempted to run behind his little detective. Running out of the worn-down alley, Chikao didn't stop running. The air surrounding him felt colder than before and clouds had formed. The air had started to feel like small frozen hail attacking his goosebumps that were apparent on the rest of his body including his neck. Unfortunately for him, but not the same could not be said for the redhead, Chikao had no idea where the hell he was going. So instead of observing his surroundings like a smart and logical person would do, Chikao just kept running for his life. Not stopping for anything or anyone in his path. Luckily, almost everyone was in the town hall currently. Which in turn still didn't stop Chikao from narrowly avoiding face-planting into a couple of buildings, running into furry little animals, and almost jumping into a pool of water (at least that's what it looks like to Chikao). Yep, he has a terrible sense of direction and will be more likely to kill himself in this process than the lady chasing him right now.

'Shut up System.' Chikao replied to the system narration, breaking the 'fourth wall' in this case.

[Don't break the fourth wall, you idiot] The System replied to his narration being interrupted.

'I don't really care right now. And honestly,' Chikao looked back at the woman who looked like she was on fire at this point, and then turned back to the system window. 'I have way bigger things to worry about.'

[Just duck behind one of the barrels or something in the alleyway] System shrugged.

[Like the movies I guess] System pointed at nothing in their emoji.

'Like movie magic.' Chikao raised an eyebrow.

[Like movie magic] System expressed another one of his cocky looks that ticked Chikao off a bit.

'If this doesn't work, you're dead.' Chikao responded back to the 'fascinated' system.

[More like you're dead. If looks could kill, she would've already stabbed you like that dead body at the town hall.] Chikao rolled his eyes at the system's sassy remark while the system only snickered.

'Let's just get this over with.'

Finding an opening wasn't easy, but Chikao made it work. He saw ahead that there was a building with its door open. Chikao couldn't see the lady but knew that she would come around the corner ready to hunt his flesh if he didn't run sooner or later. So he ran straight for the doors to hide himself. Going behind the door, Chikao didn't have the chance to close the wooden planks when he heard the woman's footsteps close by. Holding his breath and putting a hand over his mouth, Chikao retreated to the right wall of the door, back flat against it. Hoping that he wasn't in the line of vision of that terrifying woman, he stood where he was in the dark. The room was not lit by any bright candle and had no heating source. The conditions of the room were basically equivalent to the outside temperature which was starting to get cold really quickly. Facing the only light that was present in the wooden house from the wooden door entry, Chikao stared in horror as a shadow was produced. Eyes widening, Chikao's breath became more uncertain and hesitant with every centimeter more of the shadow appearing. Every slow step that she took, was another uncertain breath until Chikao couldn't breathe anymore. The ominous shadow had reached about the size of the redhead and Chikao could now feel that she was on the other side of the door. Her great presence was one that couldn't be ignored. With one solid piece of wood between them, Chikao could feel his brain start to shut down and he couldn't feel his legs. Fortunately, everything happened at once.

"WHERE ARE YOU!.. Huh?"

The woman had entered the dark room, but before she could get a chance, someone had stopped her with a hand on her shoulder.

"You are being too rash, Ms. Pyro." A calm, recognizable voice came from behind the terror.

"What the hell do you want kid?!? I was just about to catch that little punk!" Ms. Pyro questioned the restaurant owner with disappointment clear in her tone.

"If you must know, the kid went that way." Ayuka pointed her right to the outside of the building.

"Shit- really? I could've sworn he went in here." She put a hand to her chin, seemingly trying to think. "Eh. But whatever. Thanks punk." She shrugged it off and started running in the direction that the other redhead pointed to.

Chikao released his breath after hearing the horrifying lady run the other way, but his breath flow got interrupted when he froze once again.

"You can come out now," Ayuka stated coldly which caught Chikao for a second, forcing himself to remember that Ayuka was not trying to kill him for once. Once Chikao revealed himself, Ayuka sighed out loud. "You really ought to find a better hiding place. You ran right into that lady's favorite place to eat."

"Hey! That lady was trying to kill me thank you very much. How the hell was I supposed to even think in that situation." Chikao explained but just got an annoyed Ayuka in response.

"Well, the good thing is that no one knows you in this town so your name isn't going to be plastered on the adventures guilds wanted list." Ayuka started but was interrupted by Chikao. "Well that's really good-" "But that doesn't mean that your face won't be everywhere now." Ayuka corrected Chikao with the bad news leaving Chikao with an expression that just said 'oh'.

Giving Chikao a moment to think, Ayuka paused before speaking again. "Well, at least we know where everyone is now." Ayuka sighed. Chikao asked afterward. "Oh yeah!" Ayuka looked up at the brown-haired boy. "What happened to everyone after that chaos?"

Ayuka responded simply while stretching her arms a bit. "Well, Taro went over to Zack's place up in the high society bullshit, and Ruma's just signing out of the Adventures guild so she'll be here sooner or later."

Frowning a bit, Chikao asked Ayuka another question that wasn't really relevant to the situation. "I noticed that you call everyone else by their real name, but you call Aoi a nickname. Is that like a more than friends kinda thing 'cause she also calls you a nickname?"

Ayuka paused her stretching and put her arms down. "I guess you can say that. We've known each other forever and the cause was not something you usually meet someone through." Lowering her voice, Ayuka muttered something. "So yeah, she's kinda like a special friend. Although I won't admit it to her at the very least."

"Oh. Okay." He responded simply and plainly.

"Ruma should be here any minute now." Ayuka glanced at the clock before stating. Without missing a beat, Aoi opened the wooden doors with ease. Immediately spotting Ayuka with her bright red hair, Aoi hurried over and hugged her on the spot.

"Hi Sako!!!" Aoi exclaimed loudly before Ayuka slapped a hand over the blond's mouth. "What did I tell you about calling me that in front of others? It's a little much..." Ayuka directed her eyes from Aoi to her other side in embarrassment. "But it's fine in front of Chikao, right? Chikao's our friend, so it should be fine!" Aoi exclaimed once again with Ayuka pushing her off slowly. "Ugh. Fine. But it's only because you are asking with logic and reasoning for once." Ayuka became even more of a tomato than before. "Thanks, Sako!!!" Aoi exclaimed for the last time before walking over to the bar area.

Ayuka turned to Chikao with a neutral facial expression. "Well since there isn't much you can do for me right now, it is advised by myself that you don't show your face for a while. You don't wanna be caught for something you didn't do, right?" Chikao shook his head in agreement before Ayuka took another sigh. "I'll be with Ruma for work tonight, so head up to your room before it starts getting crowded," Ayuka said while walking to Aoi and "Don't forget your keys by the way." And she disappeared into the workplace.

Chikao, who was hanging around the door area, swiftly made his way up to the stairs before the crowds of people made their way in. Looking at the wooden symbol, Chikao found room nine on the second floor after a while and pulled out his silver-like keys. Using the said keys, the door opened to reveal a very nice place for one person.

[This is an actually nice place, to be honest] The System commented while putting a hand on his forehead to make it appear like he was looking for something.

Although Chikao didn't want to admit it, the system was right about this room. Everything in the room was placed in what seemed like a specific order or place. The bed sheets were neatly folded on a small, but comfortable-looking bed in the corner farthest from the door.. There was a small desk across from the bed that was made out of a lightly colored wood. Some type of pencil-like object was laid nicely on the same desk along with some blank sheets of paper. The room was about the size of a normal apartment, but slightly bigger with a few more cabinets and another room which Chikao assumed was the bathroom. There were a few extra complementary items around like a bit of food and trashcans. In the middle of the back of the room, there was a semi-high window that light seeped through.

Chikao walked over to look out the window to see a bit over the top of the houses surrounding the building. Even from here, Chikao could see the tall Town Hall meeting room where the faithful death happened. A little shiver ran down his spine at the thought but shrugged it off afterward when remembering his own near-death experience which was much more traumatizing than someone else dying. Walking into the nice apartment gifted by Ayuka, Chikao closed the door before making any outward comments.

"Well, this is pretty sweet," Chikao said out loud to nobody, but the system responded.

[Well now it's time to get some rest] The system said to Chikao while resting its emoji head on a pillow.

Raising one eyebrow, Chikao questioned the system's tiredness. "Why are you tired? I'm the one who ran from that psycho."

[Yeah, well] System closed their eyes. [It was tiring to watch you run away like an idiot]

The brown-haired detective ground his teeth a bit while reading the system's retarded remarks. "Why you-" Chikao took a deep breath in so he didn't yell out to the world. "You know what? I'm just going to go wash myself up and get ready to get some dinner from Ayuka." Chikao mumbled to the system before walking to the bathroom.

[Knock yourself out] The system window said before disappearing to who knows where.

Chikao walked from the back of the door to the small room on the side of the bedroom. The bathroom was also pretty average with a few modifications to match the era and time that Chikao was in this fantasy world. Walking over to the makeshift sink, Chikao looked at the mirror that was above the sink.

"That's what I look like?" Chikao questioned his reflection. Surprisingly, Chikao hasn't seen his reflection since coming to this place. Due to this occurrence, Chikao was surprised to see that he had semi-short light brown hair and a similar shade of brown for his eyes. He hadn't truly looked at what he was wearing so it came as quite a shock. Chikao wore a normal-length, brown coat that reached around his waist. He had a light brown shirt and tan male pants on too. He wore dark brown boots that reached the middle of his thigh. A couple of little accessories were his leather shoulder pads and some straps around his thighs that had daggers in them.

"Are you fucking kidding! I had a weapon all along?!" The disappointed male complained. Taking another glance in the mirror, he took note that he had a huge scar on his face under his right eye. Shrugging off the scar under his eye, Chikao decided to get into the shower and wash himself up before going to get dinner.

------------------------

After the shower, Chikao put on his brown shirt and male pants before sitting at the small desk in his room. The clock on his desk read that it was 15:09. The meeting was at 13:00 and lasted about an hour. After the meeting, Chikao was chased by the Pyro lady for about half an hour which meant that he had another hour before he had to go down and eat. Chikao decided to use this time to summarize what he knew about this world and also possible ways to make it so he could be renounced as a murderer or a terrorist.

Chikao hadn't been here for a while so he probably wasn't being framed by a particular person. The deceased wasn't someone that Chikao knew in particular and wasn't recognizable in any way. So this murder shouldn't have anything to do with himself except for the fact that it somehow did. Even so, the place of the murder was odd. It wasn't secretive at all, in fact, the person made it well known to everyone that this person was dead. Could it be that they were trying to warn everyone? Like a death warning or terrorist warning?

Chikao shook his head.

No, most definitely not. It's too cliche and wouldn't make sense in this world. Would a terrorist even exist in this world? This world was fantasy so it was mainly about fighting monsters or whatever. He doubted that it was a warning from a group. No one was found on the top of the roof which meant that they used something to push the body into the room. Could it be a contraption or some sort of a machine? Or maybe magic.

'What kind of magic could they have used? Most elements of magic would've left marks so I can't be sure which part of magic could've worked.' Chikao put his head on top of the desk and the papers given. "Ugh, this is too much to think about right now." Chikao's head hit the soft papers which acted like a soft cushion for the detective's frustrated head.

The detective's soft hair lay along the papers along with the rest of his head. Peacefully lying there, a system window pops up.

[Did you forget about the Profile Index?] Chikao looked up at the system in curiosity.

"Kinda, but what about it?"

[Well you can use it now]

Chikao yawned and sat up before looking back at the screen. "Remind me what it did again?"

[Basically like a character profile about the people you have met already]

""Alright. Let me take a look." Chikao gave his full attention to the system as a little iPad-like object fell out. Chikao grabbed the iPad before it fell onto the desk and observed it. The screen read:

-Fantasy World: Profile Index-

Chikao started scrolling through the list of names on the screen tapping on each one in the order they came.

[Hey]

Ignoring the system to look at the rest of the Profile Index, Chikao pushed on another icon which looked to be Ayuka's.

---------------------------

"What does it mean by 'Contract' when it comes to me?" Chikao asked the device, although the device would not answer, ever. The system did instead.

[Probably because you guys have a very professional relationship where you are giving her something in exchange for this room]

"I guess that makes sense. It just seems kinda...sad?" Chikao said to the system who was laughing a bit. "Oh shut up system. I just thought we were friends."

[Nah. I was just laughing because the system on the device doesn't recognize you guys as friends yet. May take a while] System wiped a fake tear from his eyes while still giggling a bit. Chikao gave the system the 'Are you kidding me' look before taking a glance at the clock.

"Well, it looks like it's about time to go eat." Chikao stood up and stretched. "I should probably cover my face a bit though," Chikao remembered the whole terrorist situation and went to go find something to cover his face.

Chikao found a piece of black cloth that covered his face quite well, he started walking downstairs to find Ayuka and something to eat.
