Anna dropped her head and held one of her eyes in pains.
Seeing the problem she had caused, the little girl fled in fear of being punished. As Anna stood there with her head dropped to the ground, one of the Nuns heard her small cries and she ran up to her.
"Let me see." The woman removed Anna's hand which was covering her eyes and was shocked to see the colour of her eyes.
The brownish colour had fade out, leaving her pure white iris to shine brightly. The woman brought her hand to cover her mouth as she had never seen such eyes before.
When a thought dawned on her, she grabbed Anna's wrist and pulled her towards the altar of the church. If she isn't a witch she would be something evil, the woman thought as she dragged Anna.
Anna winced in pain from the woman's forceful grasp. She did not know why the woman was pulling her when she had done nothing wrong. All the children they passed, quickly gave way for them upon seeing her eye colour.
As the woman continued to drag her, Anna bit into her hand and the woman flinched in pain. She released Anna's hand and the little girl used the opportunity to run away. She ran straight to the next building not looking back.
"Catch her!" The Nun shouted as she watched her ran away.
Anna ran into the building upstairs to her mother's room. She opened the door and was glad to see her mother in the room.
But when Patricia saw her daughter's eye colour had changed, her heart began to beat so fast. She hurried to Anna and bent down holding her cheek.
"Did anyone see you like this? What happened to you?" She questioned.
"I was going to take my vows when I was hit in my eyes by Vicky and Sister Margaret started dragging me to the altar. I got scared and ran away." Anna explained to her mother.
On hearing this, Patricia covered her mouth with panic. What she had been hiding for years had finally been exposed today.
A single drop of tear escaped from Anna's eyes and when it touched her skin, it simmered before drying up.
Before Patricia could find a solution to the mess, the door burst open and in strode the priest and Sister Margaret.
"She is a witch." Margaret accused.
Patricia tugged her daughter closer to her as she looked at the people who had started trooping into her room one after the other.
"What are you two?" The priest demanded.
"We are innocent people. Please don't accuse us wrongly." Patricia said with fear engulfed in her eyes.
Just then, a Nun walked into the room with two blue wings.
"I found this in your wardrobe." The woman said to Patricia.
The priest quickly grabbed the wings from the Nun and examined it.
"What are you two?!" He asked.
"Please we are innocent. Do not think wrongly of us." Patricia cried out.
"Take Anna from her Sister now!" The priest ordered.
Patricia shook her head uncontrollably and refused to let go of her daughter. When the servant stepped forward to take Anna away from her, Patricia pushed him away.
With her immortal strength, she pushed the people standing at the door entrance and dashed out of the room with Anna. They had to leave this place before they get caught. She didn't want her daughter to die miserable so she continued running down the corridors.
"Catch them!" The servants shouted.
One man quickly blocked her way and Patricia was forced to use her powers. She took cautious steps away from the man before raising her hands towards him. But when she tried to use her powers on him, it didn't work.
She looked at her hands in confusion, surprised that her powers were futile towards the man. The man wasted no time in catching Patricia. Tears gathered in her eyes at the inability to use her powers on him.
She knew she would die but she do not want same fate to happen to her daughter.
She looked down at her daughter. "Ohh honey you are stronger and more powerful than you think. One day you will become so strong and I want you to know that no matter what, I still love and cherish you."
Stretching her hands towards Anna whom the servant had pulled from her, she used her powers to send her flying out of the house.
She would not let them know of her identity and would rather die. With tearful eyes watching Anna at the door entrance, Patricia said her last prayers before digging her fingernails which had grew long into her chest and pulled out her heart.
Anna watched in horror as her mother's body slowly turn into dust. Her body had become so stiff and within a blink of an eye, Patricia body had turned into complete dust disappearing into thin air.
Seeing the men run towards her after her mother died, Anna turned around and started running. She used her whole strength to run into the forest as fast as she could.
The memory of seeing her mother's lifeless body drop to the ground was still fresh in her head. While Anna continued to run deep into the forest, a man wearing a black cloak stood behind a tree watching the girl run.
Seeing the girl stumble on her footsteps and fell on the muddy ground making her unconscious, he flickered his fingers and two lotus leafs came to rest on top of her.
The roots on the ground began to make it's way slowly to her body. The roots circled her hands and feet and tied her against the ground. Some part of her skin had started to shimmer bright blue under the morning sun. Her entire body was soon coated with thick blue skin making the man wearing the cloak curious.
As he was about to walk towards her, a woman holding a bow and arrow moved closer to Anna's body which was now glowing blue. She removed the lotus leaf from her body and touched her neck to see that the girl was still alive.
