Heaven Alizah Dianne's pov:
The drive was quiet. I guess it's because neither of us had anything to say. I want to tell him about that elder's betrayal, but knowing him, he might act rashly. He doesn't take betrayal lightly, that's for sure. I guess l'll tell Lucas first.
That day, those dark demons said they were going to come back after the coronation. I just hope they'll meet at the same place.
"What are you thinking?" . I snapped out of my thoughts. I looked at him and found him staring at me.
"I'm just thinking about my life" l said simply.
He nodded. "Do you regret it?"
That question caught me off guard. Do l regret my life?. No. "My life is anything but perfect. But l don't regret it."
"Including being with me?" He asked. Being with him?. I hate to admit it, he hasn't done anything to make me regret being with him. His temper has been fun to deal with. And he's even caring now, for some unknown reason. So l guess l don't regret it. But l won't tell him that.
He sighed , "it's okay, you don't have to answer that. Just forget about what l said". He said calmly.
I saw pain flashed through his eyes. Did my silence hurt him?. But why?. Eugene can be so confusing sometimes. I looked away from him and focused on the scenery outside. We are driving on top of a hill now. The scenery here is breathtaking. From up here, l can see fields of fruit trees and flowers. There are also fields of other tall and beautiful trees. I had no idea the kingdom has a place as beautiful as this. This must be a part of the kingdom's farms. So that's why he chose to drive instead of teleporting. He wanted me to see this.
"This is a part of the kingdom's farms. This part is for flowers and fruits" he explained.
"It's beautiful" l couldn't help but comment.
"So l'm guessing there's another farm for agricultural produce?" I asked.
He nodded " And another one for herbs".
After a while, we got to the fields of herbs. There are so many rare and beautiful herbs. I can also see humans working there. It seems this place connects to the human realm.
Silence prevailed in the car till we got to our destination, a forest. "We're here" he announced. He got out of the car and opened the door for me.
"Come on" he offered his hand. I hesitated for a moment before taking his hand.
And he smiled. What's he happy about?, I thought.
We walked deep into the forest till we reached a waterfall. The water is glowing a bluish-green light, it's literally reeking of raw energy, which made the sight absolutely breathtaking. Glowing waterfalls are common in the demon realm. But this one is amazing.
"How come there's no one around here?" I asked. Beautiful places always have lots of visitors.
"Because, no one knows about this waterfall except me" . What!.
"How come?" I asked.
He just shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know why either. Although, this place is a very isolated area, places like this always attract attention. I guess it's meant for me only" he said the last part proudly.
"Come on" he pulled me by my waist. We went behind the waterfall and entered a cave behind the waterfall. The cave is huge and beautiful. There are glowing stalagmites inside it.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" He said as we sat down on a rock. "Yeah, how did you discover this place?". I asked out of curiosity.
"I just found it by accident". " That day, my late brother, Ian, and l had a fight. lt was my fault actually, but l didn't want to admit it. Instead I wanted him to apologize first" .
That's so you, l thought
"I was such a stubborn little kid back then. Of course my father wasn't partial. He scolded me and told me to apologize. But l refused. Then he ordered that l should be lashed ten times."
"My brother pleaded to him not to do that. But father didn't listen. After the punishment, l ran away from home and promised myself not to ever go back again. I didn't know where l was going, l just kept running until l got here. I blocked everyone off, so no one could find me, for ten days". He explained.
Even l couldn't help but chuckle at his childish behaviour.
"Ever since, whenever l need to have clear head or meditate, l'd just come here" he continued.
"So why is this place so special to you?" I asked.
"This is the only place where l can have my own space without having anyone bothering me. Also, this is where my brother and l had our first fishing contest".
"Your brother has been here too?" I asked.
"Yeah, he followed me here that day. And we played till sunset. That was the only day we played through out without having any argument" He said.
