I leaned forward again, gazing at her. Her gaze grew softer. She was well aware that she was shattering my heart into insignificant fragments.
I muttered, "You're leaving me," but my own voice betrayed me.
"I'm not. I'm just giving us both a much-needed break."
But I don't require a separation from you. Myrah, please, this doesn't need to be done. "What is the purpose of your actions?"
"Valentino, I have to do this for me. After everything that has transpired between us, I require distance. I require room to think logically and clearly. I should calm down before I deal with this. Right now, my emotions are all over the place. I'm angry and bitter right now, so talking about that will just cause us both to experience excruciating heart ache rather than anything positive."
