Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Valentino' POV

Kyle, is everything in order? I patiently waited for Kyle to ask me a question before checking my watch.

Kyle put his hand on my arm and said, "That's like the fifth time in a row you've asked me that obvious question, Valentino."

Everything is ideal, and everything will proceed as planned. He informed me that my dad, Mrs. Dante, Alisa, Alton, and other family members were taking care of the guests.

Also Myrah ? What time will she finish? They started dressing her up about three hours ago.

Oh, come on, she is the bride. They are giving it their all because they want her to look stunning. They ought to be finished in fifteen minutes.

Fine, I suppose I must wait then.

I'm going to the ballroom now. Best wishes, Valentino. I'll make sure I'm always available if you need anything at all. Yes Kyle, I'll see you later.

I was left alone in the hallway after Kyle left and went down the corridor. I tried to maintain a neutral expression despite my anxiety.

No space existed for an error. We had to make sure that our money did not go to waste because the entire operation had cost both families millions.

I gazed out the nearby window before turning to face the night sky. It was lovely, serene, and amazing. Lights sparkled brightly throughout New York City, and the stars twinkled gloriously.

It all made me long for my mother. In the flash of an eye, she vanished into history, but I still vividly remembered her, as if we had just lost her.

The stars made me think of her. I had the impression that she was watching me directly from heaven as I looked at them. If only I had one last chance to hold her and tell her how much I loved her.

The sound of a door opening disturbed my train of thought. I turned around, and quite a few people—most of whom I recognized as makeup artists and other professionals came out. I guess that was it.

As they all turned to leave, they gave me a final round of compliments on my appearance. In any case, it was nothing new to me.

It's time for your wife, Mr. Alexander. The last to leave the room, an older woman said, we'll leave the two of you alone.

I gave her a thank you nod, and then I watched as she left. Where on earth was "my bride," then?

She didn't anticipate that I would escort her away after lavishly complimenting her.

I chose to start with the first step in order to save time. I walked into the room and was left dumbfounded by what I saw. As I admired Myrah's stunning physique and attractiveness, she stood there uneasy.

Holly sh*t! Am I really calling her glorious?

She deserved a much higher name to honor her master's perfection, beauty, and splendor, and I was envious of her. Her eyes were the first aspect of her that made me want to turn the universe inside out.

They stood for the ocean, one of my favorite places on earth. They were a deep ocean blue color, beautiful in their purity, mildness, and perfection.

Why hadn't I noticed them before? Heck, I hadn't even really looked at her closely enough to take in all of her features, but suddenly it was impossible to ignore her.

I came to see that this was truly the first time I had looked her in the eye and recognized her as the person she was rather than as my enemy who had broken into my life to wreck havoc.

When she noticed that I was looking at her, she gently flicked her languid, velvet-black eyelashes while raising an eyebrow. She had the kind of hair that would look stunning stretched across my pillow.

Spools of it tumbled around her picture-perfect face and concealed a swan's neck. It was a gorgeous tumble of naturally light golden hair.

Her lips looked delectable, and her skin was immaculate. Her body did her face full justice. She was dressed in a gown made of the finest silks and adorned with numerous carats of diamonds to accentuate her form.

The majority of things were embellished with diamonds and gold because my family's business was all about jewelry and valuable minerals, particularly diamonds.

Myrah belonged to the group of ladies who looked stunning whether they were wearing clothes or not. Her dress had a cleavage that displayed her large, firm breasts, which appeared to be either untouched or handled like glass by the man.

It would be challenging to live with her for a year without having immoral ideas. Myrah was stunning. She possessed a special and distinct kind of beauty, unlike most women I had met, and she didn't use it to try to attract any male.

What the heck was I thinking? She was only a temporary solution. Trying to get to know her better would just make my life more difficult.

How do I seem, really? Myrah stumbled while speaking in her heavenly soprano voice.

Her tone was soothing, quiet, and pleasant. Although it matched her demeanor, I had the impression she could be louder. Simply put, she lacked confidence.

"Myrah , you look fantastic" We should get going. The visitors are holding out.

In order to avoid saying anything that would make her uncomfortable, I had to keep it short and sweet.

She said, "You look fantastic."

Why did it sound different coming from her all of a sudden?

"Thanks" Should we? We clasped arms after she softly nodded in response to my question.

When we were introduced with the brilliant spotlight shining on us, we made quite a big entrance. The audience's varied responses made the situation strange.

My wife was surrounded by men's dreamy looks, which caused me to tighten my hold in a possessive manner on the small of her back. I had no idea why I did it, but instinct took over. Even if there was a plan, I had no desire to share it.

Crystal-cascading pillar centerpieces added the ideal touch of opulence to the ballroom. A spectacular eight-tier cake with stunning diamond decorations stood at the center of the ballroom on a table. The cake was at least two meters tall.

As I introduced Myrah to my family and close friends, the events of the evening unfolded smoothly. I appreciated the way she handled my family. She was gracious and treated them as though they were her own family.

Caylee lacked the patience and time to manage my family. If she wanted to be my wife, we had to take it seriously. I saw that she was grinning. Her seductively white oyster teeth lit up the space.

After attending to the visitors for a bit, we were offered some wonderful wine. The Dante family ran a prosperous beverage business that produced the finest wines, booze, juices, sodas, energy drinks, and other beverages.

Their business has a huge market value. Like us, they were involved in other industries, but that was their primary focus.

"You're doing fantastic." You did a great job with your voice.

Thanks! You guys must have put a lot of effort into this. Everyone will adore it because it's perfect.

She was so sweet and seemed to have only positive things to say.

"You didn't respond to me when I apologized about Sasha the other day."

I kept replaying the entire thing in my mind. I was upset about it. Sasha lacked any right to abuse Myrah in that manner. She acted in a wholly cruel manner.

Well, let's put it off till later. We currently need to take care of a lot of crucial things.

She was avoiding the subject, and I could tell. She felt uncomfortable and humiliated by the entire circumstance. I recognized that.

I heard someone say, "Valentino Alexander," which caused me to look up and pay them complete attention.

Nicholas Calleiro. What a delightful surprise! I exclaimed happily as I hugged my good friend. He gave me a hug just as enthusiastically as I had given him.

It's good to see you, man. He said as I took in his face, "I notice you are still shining as usual.

Even after two years in Australia, Old Nick is still the same.

He nodded to Myrah , "And our gorgeous bride," and placed a gentle kiss on her silky palm.

He had undergone no changes. Mr. Charming remains. There was a hint of flush on Myrah 's cheeks and a look of intrigue in her eyes.

She asked Nick as he flashed her his megawatt smile and gently caressed her hand before letting go. "You are the guy from yesterday, right?"

I can tell Myrah has a good memory. Yes, that's me, sweetie.

I lightly punched Nick's shoulder.

You're crazy. Was it really necessary for you to send an anonymous message?

I simply needed a dramatic moment to make you a little uneasy. I hope I soothed your anxiety.

Not at all likely, and when did you return? At the very least, you ought to have informed us.

I packed my things and made the first flight here as soon as I heard the news of your marriage. I had to verify in person that you were actually getting married.

Well, that's good. I remarked, softly bringing Myrah closer to me by her curved waist. Well let me officially introduce you guys, and kiss her on the head.

There was media everywhere. We had to appear normal.

Myrah , this is Nicholas Calleiro, a buddy of mine. Everyone refers to him as Nick. Myrah greeted Nick with a smile and said, nice to meet you.

Nick was fixated on her the entire time. It was as though he had never before seen such a lovely woman.

It was nice to meet you, Myrah. You appear flawless tonight; in fact, you appeared lovely yesterday. You are a stunning woman.

Thank you, Nick.

She was squirming a lot, and Nick grinned widely at the sight.

Just then, his younger sister, who was her age, joined us. She greeted us both and expressed her congratulations. She was just as extraordinary and intelligent as her brother. Every time we met, we spoke a lot.

Myrah , my name is Monica. Your husband is both my friend and my brother's friend, and I am this psycho's younger sister. Please join our family. As she embraced Myrah tightly, Monica chirped cheerfully, "We are more than thrilled to have you here."

As they began conversing with other women, the two women merged into the crowd. They would get along well.

Val, how did you become so fortunate? She really is flawless in every way. If I could have a woman like that, I would give anything.

"You barely even know her, Nick."

"Her eyes are like her soul's road map." They claim she is incredible. Even with all her flaws, she is still perfect.

"You do realize we're talking about my wife, right?"

Naturally, Valentino just a compliment please. I'd never think of taking what is rightfully yours. Together, the two of you are ideal.

I said, making him laugh, "I hope you won't pose a threat to my marriage in the future because the way you are looking at her is making me uneasy."

He said, "Cheers to that," and we raised our wine glasses in response.

As soon as I got Myrah's attention, she turned away. My eyes had drifted off to hunt for Myrah. Unknown to me, I grinned to myself.

The moment Caylee saw Alisa and I standing there, she grinned seductively at me. She appeared stunning. I was reminded of how much I loved her and how Myrah had no place in my heart when I saw her. I was forced to keep it that way.

The reception's activities all went off without a hitch. We had a dance that was completely legal.

After a long, enjoyable, and productive evening, we ended the day with a fireworks display.

We quietly bid our guests farewell. When I turned to look, I noticed Myrah laughing with Nick, Kyle, and Monica over a ridiculous Kyle joke. It was truly a sight to watch them all laugh.

It's a really beautiful sight, right? Dad inquired while saluting Kyle, Myrah , Nick, and Monica from his position next to me.

What's going on, Dad? "This evening was a great success," now you have a responsibility to look after your wife.

I see you are worried about that girl." I'd prefer it if you would treat that woman with respect since she is your wife, Valentino.

Dad, temporary wife. You appear to be going a little too far with this.

What specifically do you dislike about Myrah ? Don't you realize what a good person she is? Her eyes reveal that she has experienced a lot. Will you not at least show her respect?

Yes Dad, I respect her. When you act as though you would keep her as your daughter-in-law permanently, it becomes an issue.

Will there be a battle over this, Valentino?

Dad, what's your beef with Caylee? Everything in our lives was great before Myrah swarmed in. You're acting strangely right now.

I don't dislike Caylee in any way. The fact that she is your girlfriend is something I appreciate. Myrah is a great person, that's all I'm saying. Do not attribute the problem to her.

Okay Dad, I'll follow your instructions. "Your honeymoon is in two days." Patting my back, he added, have fun, son.

Every time he sensed my anger, he would do it.

"Dad, I don't want to argue with you."

"I also don't want that, Val.

I was wrong about how difficult this would be. There was little likelihood of us ever getting divorced if Dad began to like Myrah . Even though he wasn't being honest, I could see where it was going. He would never make me stay in an unhappy marriage, but his approval was important.

I took one more look at Myrah . She was someone I didn't want to interact with, yet I felt bad since it seemed like her eyes were pleading for comfort and serenity. Lord, why me?
