Chapter 15 - Confronting Truth's

Michael lay on the ground, covered in a medley of liquids, prompting Mr. Ife to question whether he had pushed things too far. Yet, if Michael managed to control two external energies, he might not need to rely on his abilities as frequently. For now, all Mr. Ife could do was wait, hoping Michael would either awaken or perish. With only five days remaining until the enrollment tournament, Mr. Ife murmured, "Come on, Brother."

(Amy and Mr. Esho)

Once again, Amy awoke, pain coursing through her body. "What was that for? You said I should catch you," she exclaimed, glaring at Mr. Esho. He regarded her solemnly, remarking, "Your enemy will never be that predictable, Amy. You must learn to think outside the box." Amy's expression fell, realizing the predicament of her power. "So basically, I'm still useless even with power," she lamented. Mr. Esho shook his head. "That's not true, Amy. You've defeated many ability users. One loss doesn't define you. You must learn to lose to win, Amy. That's how the world works."

Amy stood up, meeting Mr. Esho's gaze with determination. "I know you've encountered Amelia, Mr. Esho. It's time for me to confront... my sin. All I need is a safe and enclosed place." Mr. Esho nodded, understanding, and left the field, sealing the door behind him.

"Alright, bitch, come out. Let's talk," Amy demanded. [Amy, my host, who couldn't beat her little Michael and lost to her Master twice, what do you want?] Amy swallowed her pride. "I won't lie; I know I'm a failure. I understand you want to be with Michael, but circumstances have brought us together. In a few days, the enrollment tournament is happening, and if I don't qualify, I can't stay, Amelia. Please, teach me how to wield this power." [You're funny, Amy. One moment you call me a bitch, the next you beg me as if I'm your mother. Do you really think I care about you? All I want is to leave this body.] "If that's your wish, then so be it," Amy declared, plunging her hand through her chest, grasping her heart. "Even the power I acquired rejects me. Maybe I am just destined not to be in this college. Well, let me die doing one good deed: releasing you, Amelia." [Soul Bridge]

"Huh? Where am I? Why is the ground on fire?" [Home, Amy. You're at my home.] "But I'm supposed to be dead." [Yes, you were, but I transferred your consciousness to mine. Now, I shall show you the truth.] [Look in the distance, Amy. You will see a city burning.] "Yes, I see it." [That's my home, Amy. Where my kids, my husband, my people stay. But guess what? Your people, you humans, burnt it all to ashes. And what annoys me the most is the fact I was never told about my people's suffering because I was protecting you. Bastard humans! I lost my life saving you from death, while all you humans gave me in return was the death of my loved ones.]

Amy was speechless, unable to fathom the magnitude of Amelia's suffering. [And guess what? Even after death, I was punished by being trapped in the body of the one I hate most. And now you're here, getting pissed off because you lost to the one person I considered a friend. Let me not say too much, but Amy, your race is the most selfish race.] "Amelia, I'm sorry. I didn't know." [Amy, I am not angry at you. I am angry at the Creator, your race, and every living being. That's why I am the Sin of Wrath, because my anger can only be understood by one man, and I hope you realize who that man is soon enough.]

[NOW THAT YOU KNOW THE TRUTH, IT'S TIME TO MERGE WITH THE TRUTH. FOR THE ONLY WAY TO USE MY POWER IS TO BE ME.] [Soul Fusion]

The scene shifted back to the field, Amy feeling different, as if her body had become stronger. When she looked at her hands, she saw her veins pulsating with red-hot energy. She knew she was stronger, but what shocked her the most was the figure standing before her. [Yes, you will be seeing me a lot now, since I am now one with your soul. But have in mind, if you damage your soul, both of us will suffer. You have access to the power you can handle, and the memories you can take have been synchronized to your brain. But remember, you need to learn how to use your powers, and I will teach you.]

[Now, first of all, you're going to have to learn how to reduce the power surging through your veins, unless you're going to burst all the veins in your body. And remember, even though you can heal, you can't heal as fast as Michael.] [Now, start by flicking one finger with all your strength.] Amy hesitated, thinking it was trivial, but followed through. To her surprise, her finger broke from the flick. "Amelia, what happened? All this from a finger flick?" [Amy, that's the point. If you were to try with your whole hand, that's what would have happened. This means your body is too weak to wield this power. Okay then, since your power is connected to your soul, try reducing it by thinking about it.] "Okay," Amy agreed, closing her eyes, attempting to control the energy surging within her. Opening her eyes, she punched the ground with her newfound power, her hand trembling but unharmed. "I did it!" [Wow, that was fast. I guess Soul Fusion does a lot.] [I guess I'll leave you, Mr. Esho, to train until the tournament. Now, don't ever disturb me.]
