"The truth is, it's a very long story, and I'm not sure if it's right to tell you everything," I explained to Venedict, who appeared eager for me to open up completely.
Observing Venedict's reaction, it was evident that he felt disheartened by my response, and he lowered his gaze.
"I thought, mommy, you would finally admit everything to me. But why do you still hesitate to tell me? You know that I'm willing to listen," Venedict expressed, prompting me to grasp his hand once more.
"Um, but what I'm about to confess won't be easy, is that okay with you?" I asked Venedict.
"Hmm," he responded briefly, nodding his head.
"Then, can you promise me that you won't get angry when you learn the whole truth from me?" I added, giving him a reason to look at me, and he slowly nodded.
