Chapter 25 - 25. Like a possessive wife

Anna trusted that she'd change when she became independent of her own body. She was already financially stable and George was only helping by keeping her fortune from her enemies. She would be able to refrain herself soon when she is independent.

George brought his chair to her side and sat next to her. "Do you know that I love to eat traditional food?" He asked when he saw the waitress coming his way.

Anna didn't nod her head. "This place seemed to have little population," she said, indirectly seeking an explanation.

"Yes, no one recognizes you in this area. It will be another problem if the police find you and I have to keep you hidden until we have a plan," George satisfied Anna by explaining.

Anna's gaze stayed on George even when he looked at the waitress who seemed to have some part of her naked. She definitely was trying to capture more customers by dressing in that sexy Chinese attire and it was apparently working for her according to the amount of customers she had.

'I hope she isn't attracting George as she is to other men' Anna thought as she watched George's face. 'So he has a plan?'

Anna found it a bit unbelievable. 'It looks like my problems are his too'

Anna was listening to George's conversation with the hot waitress but she wasn't processing what was being said. Anna just stared at the man sitting next to her and it still appeared to be tremendous how handsome George was.

A smile curled on Anna's lips but soon, she looked away when she realized that she was acting weird.

"We'll eat soon. I hope you like the food I chose for you," George said.

"I'll appreciate it. Is this place a village?" Anna asked.

"Well, you can call it a village. There is a big mountain behind our villa. I'll take you there when you start walking. We can have our first date while having a picnic on the mountain," George's eyes fell on Anna's lips as he waited for her protest.

Anna, however, chuckled. "You sound so confident," she looked into his black eyes.

"But I am not confident, Anna. I should stop this because I know how much it irritates you," he looked down at the table, and then his phone rang.

Upon bringing it out of his pocket, Anna saw that the person disturbing their time together was Jessica.

"Give a few seconds," George was already on his way when he said that to Anna, and then he left her side.

"I thought he made it clear that nothing is going on between Jessica and him," Anna pouted.

When George came back he was surprised to see a waiter by Anna's table. He walked closer to realize that their food was served already but Anna was smiling at the young man.

The waiter appeared to be younger than Anna.

"Enjoy your meal, Madam," the waiter saluted Anna before walking away.

"I love them," Anna sniffled the aroma of the food and immediately picked up the chopsticks. She made use of the chopsticks but when she intended to bring the food to her mouth, her hand failed her, causing the peppery food to fall on her black gown.

"I have forgotten," Anna pouted, staring at her hand while George began to clean her.

"You lifted your hand, that's the first step of making more movement. Be proud, my darling," George placed his hand on her face and gave her a smile.

Anna nodded her head. "I guess I was too excited. Feed me, George, it looks tasty," she requested.

George picked up the chopsticks and began to feed her as he fed himself. The meal was superb and nourishing to their tongues before their stomach system.

George dropped the chopsticks and placed his thumb gently on Anna's lips because of the little particles that surrounded her lips.

Anna, however, turned blank as George wiped her lips with his fingers.

"Jessica met me at a bar while I was drinking," George began to explain. He did that because he wanted to know what the waiter said to Anna and why Anna smiled when he saluted her.

"Do you drink, Master George?" Anna asked innocently.

"No, I love the noise in the bar, weird, right? I do drink but I don't drink to get drunk, just to feel less burdened," George answered Anna.

"What makes you drink? What burdens you that much?" Anna asked.

"You are one of the reasons and also the biggest reason. When you wound me, I went to the bar to feed myself with false facts and when you were in a coma, I went to keep my faith strong that my darling would come back to me and she did and now she's sitting next to me," George explained.

Anna smiled and opened her mouth, signaling to George that she wanted more meat soup. George fed her.

"I was on my own when Jessica asked me for a dance. We danced and I loved it but she went on to show me some things about her private matters and I wasn't interested. To women, handsome men are supposed to be…"

"I don't know, Anna but I guess I ended up tipsy to drive myself home that night so she drove me home and took care of me while I was sleeping."

"She saw you naked," Anna sounded a bit disappointed.

"No, my servants took care of me when they saw a stranger at home," George answered with a smile.

"Servants?" Anna asked.

"Males," George clarified.

"How come she…"

"Ah…she got my business card and now she's inviting me to a masked ball party, do you think I should go?"

Anna stayed quiet and looked into his eyes for a while. "You want to go, don't you?" She asked.

George nodded his head. "But I don't want to leave you…"

"George, you've waited four years…more than that for me. So, I want you to go and enjoy yourself and…you know…live a little," Anna shrugged.

"You know very well that I'm attracted to you alone. No…"

"I said live a little Master George, I didn't say you should let her have you," Anna uttered with a serious face.

George smiled widely until he laughed at himself. "You sound like a possessive wife and I like it," he uttered amidst his laughter.

"I see," Anna looked away.

'I don't want you to go, George' This was Anna's true feeling about him attending the party even though she did not know the date.
