POV Alex
Man I'm getting tired and this kid is not helping with all her squirming and wait what did she say
"Sorry kid I wasn't listening what you ask me" I could hear the kid sigh
" I said how much longer do we have to keep running I am getting tired of hanging on your shoulder it's starting to hurt my stomach" I looked around as we were a nice distance from the mansion but no far enough where I couldn't see the mansion.
I bet we haven't even left the backyard this place is just too big like why do you need so much space that you have to live in the forest on a giant hill 80 miles from the fricking city.
"Alex you haven't answered my question yet" jeez this kid I can't time to talk to my self " look kid I can move us faster if I hold you and besides all we have to do is get to my bike and we are moving through the winds at that point.
" we are going to fly" I almost tripped as I felt like this kid knows nothing but she talks like she knows what she is talking about.
" we aren't going to fly my bike doesn't even have the stuff for that" but the next question almost made me drop the kid and leave.
" so we can fly then" I just stayed silent as I kept running through the woods as I can't handle all these questions right now and I feel my booster is wearing off I want be able to run for long anymore if the stuff goes off I really need to get to my bike and take another booster.
" Hay Alex are you ok are you getting tired" shit is it that noticeable maybe we should take a break " yea ok kid we are pretty far now already" I put maple Down as I walk to a tree and sit down against.
"Alex are you ok your eyes the blue in them is going away" yea the side effect of the booster the manager's men gave me the stuff works wonders I was able to run for so long without getting tired and I definitely feel faster with it but the stuff sure doesn't last long maybe half a hour at most.
"Yea I'm fine kid I just need my umm my medicine yea that just let me sit here for a bit ok" I watched as the kid just look at me a little before she walked around and started to touch everything on the ground even picking up the leaves that fell out of the trees, man I'm going to be in so much trouble not only did I not get whatever it was that I was supposed to get but I'm stuck with a one of the Wolfson's kid?, wait but I thought the Wolfson's only had one daughter and she is in her 20s so who is this kid.
I looked back at the kid and may possible answer came to my mind but none made a lot of sense but I didn't get to think long before I was asked another question.
"What's that noise" what I looked around but I didn't hear anything " hay kid what you talking about we are in the forest there is nothing out here" but the kid just kept looking around as she was listening to something.
"No there is something moving can't you hear it" what is this kid talking about I stood up as I tried to listen but I couldn't hear anything it was all just quiet, wait my boost shit my hearing isn't boosted anymore I can't hear what she is hearing this is bad I quickly move to the kid and I grab her hand as I pull her to move.
" wait are you not going to carry me" I didn't face her as I said " no I don't have my medicine right now so I can't carry you right now but listen I need you to tell me what you are hear ok and tell me if it gets close to us can you do that" I felt the kids hand squeeze mine as she moved closer to me.
"Alex how much farther do we have to go" I look ahead of us as best I could as I tried to see the bottom of the hill but I couldn't see in all the darkness " we are almost there kid just keep your ears open ok" I gave her a big smile as I can't tell how far it is but I can't have this kid getting scared on me that would make my job harder.
" Alex the noise is getting closer" I could hear the kid's voice shake a little as I stopped moving as I stood still with maples hand in mine as could hear something now and whatever it was didn't sound like a person and it didn't sound like any animal I have heard before.
It sounded like wood scraping against stone like something was sliding on the ground but it sounded far away to me I looked back at maple as I asked her.
" are you sure it's close" I just say her shake her head yes as she was starting to shake a little, knelt down as I put my hands on her shoulders " maple it's just the wind it's just making the trees move that's all ok" I gave her another smile as I as her stopped shaking as she calmed down but my nerves where going crazy as behind her I saw it peeking at us behind a tree something that didn't look real it was taller then me by a good margin and it's arms went past it's knees as it's fingers looked like blades sad the face was the worst it looked like is was smiling as it it had no lips and it's eyes were just red beads on it's face.
Just looking at the damm thing made me want to scream but I know the kid would be in a worse state the I would if she looked at it so I acted like I didn't see it but more of them started to peek out behind more trees and just stared at us as I held maple shoulders.
"Yea screw it maple I need you to close you eyes and cover your ears ok" boost or no boost I need to get us down the hill and to my bike fast" why do I need to close my eyes and cover my ears" I didn't feel like explaining or making up a excuse as I saw one of them move out behind the tree as it looked like it was about to attack any second "Do because I said so maple now do it quickly."
I watched as maple squeezed her eyes close and covered her ears as I pulled out another metal ball from a little pouch on my waist as I shook the ball as I started to glow purple but I held onto as I grabbed maple and quickly put her on my shoulder and started running down the hill, I heard them instantly as it sounded like hyenas were behinds us I heard one of them getting closer as I kept running
with all the strength I had left in me. I knew I had to keep running as fast as I could, otherwise, I would be dead meat. I could feel them breathing down my neck as they were getting closer and closer. I could hear their growls and snarls that sent shivers down my spine.
I could hear Maple screaming as I tried to reassure her that everything was going to be okay. I knew it was a lie, but I had to say something to keep her calm. I could see the bottom of the hill in the distance, and I knew that if we could make it there, we can get to my bike at the bottom
The creatures were getting closer, and I could feel their hot breath on my neck. I could see Maple's eyes were open, and she was staring at the creatures with fear in her eyes. I knew I had to do something to distract them, so I threw the metal ball behind me. I didn't have to look back too see it turn into a bubble as the glow from the bubble was enough to light up the woods enough for me to see my own shadow. But I knew the bubble would most likely miss them but I just hoped it would distract those things for a bit.
And with a quick glance I was able to see they weren't on our heels anymore as I kept running, when I finally got to the bottom of the hill as I could feel my legs start to get tired as I quickly saw my bike as it was next to a rock that I hid it near so I could find it and still keep it hidden at the same time.
" ALEX"
Before I could turn to see what the problem was I heard one of those things running behind, I quickly pulled my grabbling hook out and turned around as I saw the thing jump at me with it claws out to grab me I lifted my arm up as I shot my grabbing hook at its chest as the hook shot through it and into the hill as the hook sank into the soil.
The thing wobbled as it tried to get closer before it fell down on the ground.
Not wasting a time with the thing I quickly pulled my grabbling hook back and ran to my bike as I put maple who was still shaking as she looked around in the front of my bike as I got on behind her, I grabbed my helmet and I put it on her as I started my bike and I twisted the throttle making us zoom out of the woods and onto as dirt road as I kept a eye on the surrounding to make sure we are in the clear as I drove down the dirt rode.
" is this what a adventure is" I looked down at maple as she asked this as I wasn't sure how to explain what a adventure was or if should would understand what it meant so I asked her a question in return
"Do you want it to be one" I saw as she looked up with my helmet on her I couldn't see her face but I could see she had tears on her neck that must have kept falling from her cheek as she said "no I don't want this to one" I could understand were she was coming from she did just see things of horror chase us in the woods and too think the Wolfson's live out here with those things just makes them even crazier in my eyes.
I looked at maple as I smile and say " ok then this will not be a adventure we will find a better one then"

Walking down a long hall with a newspaper a man with a white bird mask is making his way to his office when he is stopped when he see's another person with a white bird mask on as.
he grips the newspaper in his hand as he looks at them " Veronica what do I owe this surprise visit to I don't think it's my funeral" the white bird masked man says making the woman in a white mask laugh as she say " no no I'm here because of the job boss gave you my respect senior" the woman's words were laced with sarcasm as she gave a small bow to the man in the white bird mask.
"The job boss gave me does not need your concern but it is appreciated you may leave now" the woman hooded at this as she walked closer to the man " well then why is it then that a little birdie has told me that you gave the job to some random three-feather that doesn't sound very good senior, you and I know how important this job is the boss said there was not room for failure now what would happen if you failed by giving some no body the mission huh now that would be something to see wouldn't."
the man with the white bird mask looked down at the woman who stood in front of him as he leaned down a little and said " like I said this matter doesn't concern you junior" the woman clenched her fist as she didn't like his answer as the man stepped around her and walked into his office leaving the woman to stand in the hallway in irritation as she mumbled under her breath. " just you wait you prick we will see how much of a spineless disappointment you are when I finish that job first."
